About the Hotel

Like a living museum, downtown Salt Lake City's Grand America Hotel appeals to all the senses. Its oak-lined hallways are adorned with 18th century tapestries, bronze sculptures and original works of art, and sumptuous guestrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling woodwork, lush brocades, French Richlieu furnishings and spectacular mountain views from private balconies. Dining is a pleasure with a menu of American seasonal cuisine, and relaxing is equally divine: Enjoy harp music in front of a fire, drift in the magnificent indoor pool or savor a massage at the spa.

Unique hotel in several ways

I was attending a conference at the Salt Palace, but all of the adjacent hotels were booked solid. I looked a bit farther out, and I am glad that I did. The Grand America Hotel is simply amazing. Just from the lobby, you know this place is special. There may be a bit of a hike to get to your room, but the distance is worth it. Rooms are beyond spacious - they are HUGE. Interiors are elegant with classical furniture. Every area was spotlessly clean. Even small features like the gold door hinges are impressive (really!). I had only one problem. I was traveling solo and was twice denied a table (despite tables being available) in the restaurant with the host trying me to shuttle me over to an uncomfortable bar seat instead. The restaurant policy seems to be that tables are for two, not one. OK. So I used room service and that was very nicely done - no complaints with that at all.

Worth It

I stayed in a Premium View King for 1 night. Probably the most beautiful room I’ve ever stayed in, and the hotel itself is gorgeous. Wonderful service, thoughtful amenities. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. What an incredible property!

Lives up to expectations !

This hotel has become our go-to when in Salt Lake City. So when family joined us from Germany for a ski vacation, this became the first stop. Everyone had a good time, and their comfortable beds eased the jet-lag. The only downside was that you cannot get a regular breakfast on a Sunday, because they serve only brunch.

Worst Sunday brunch ever. Food was terrible! They did not restock anything. It look like most of the entries had been out from the start of the day. Service was horrible. Most of the staff stood around on their phones.

Had a wonderful experience at the GRAND America Hotel. Beautiful property, exquisite service, exceptionally friendly staff and the food was outstanding. Can't imagine staying anywhere else when in the Salt Lake City area.

Grand America Hotel — what an incredible place! I enjoyed a luxurious suite, lovely meals, high tea and elegant dining. Spa treatments were wonderful, and the pool and workout room were just right. I was attending a conference and presenting a paper for the first time, and this experience was so wonderful that I was relaxed and pampered. What a find in Salt Lake City!
