Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel

This is a charming hotel well located in Salzburg. It is very old but is still well appointed and the staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Our experience could not have been better the Hotel Goldener Hirsch. It is a historic building that has been completely remodeled inside in recent years. Very comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning and a wonderful bathroom with two sinks, a soaking tub and a terrific shower. Extremely clean. The room has plenty of electrical outlets and even has a "ladies table" with a pop up mirror to do hair and makeup. Luxurious is correct for this property. Very well appointed room and very quiet room with double windows to muffle any street noise. Did not a hear a thing. The restaurant at the hotel is also superb. Of course many traditional Austrian dishes on the menu, but I chose something not as common in Salzburg. Fish. The locally sourced trout was amazing. Get this! The breakfast each morning was also superb, many pastry, yogurt and fruit items and an extensive order from the kitchen menu. The egg white omelette and eggs benedict were outstanding. The hotel also has a nice bar where Anna and Patrick were wonderful. I just had beer, but Patrick appeared to be a very talented "mixologist " with a great report with his guests. The entire staff here were amazing. Beginning with bellman Franz who helped us with our luggage and gave a us a tour of our room. The young ladies at reception Yuliia and Amanda were just delightfull. So cheerful and courteous and gave us terrific advice during our stay. Binoo at reception was also terrific. The location of the hotel is also perfect. Centrally located, easy to walk to many locations and right on Getreidegasse, a long walking path with numerous shops and restaurants. Hotel Goldener Hirsch is well worth the premium rate to stay here. We loved it!

Perfect location if you are going to the old town or to the Salzburg Festival (less than a 5 minute walk to the festival halls). Great front desk staff, friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean and tidy. The only slight drawback is in the housekeeping area, somewhat inconsistent, if this can be overcome, I would rate the hotel as excellent and not just very good. Its a great little hotel.

Located in the heart of old town which makes the hotel the perfect location in Salzburg. Short walk to new town, and historic sites. While dinner at the hotel restaurant was note worthy and we enjoyed sitting outside. There was one Vegetarian option available. The breakfast was average and you’ll find better breakfast options immediately nearby. Though I must mention that the restaurant staff during breakfast was exceptional. They went above and beyond. The hotel front desk and hotel porter were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Our rooms were across the cobblestone street from the main building which felt like an extended wing. We enjoyed crossing the short stretch of cobblestone with a popular local cafe between. The rooms are spacious and the interior decor is old world rustic charm. Everything in excellent condition. Highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel and amazing staff. We had some difficulties arriving by car with street closures and the hotel staff went well above and beyond to help us. The rooms are fantastic, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast incredible and you cant beat the location. Misael and Julia stood out as fantastic staff that really made our trip special.
