Brimming with authentic Austrian charm, Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Salzburg, is a cherished symbol of exceptional hospitality and celebrated tradition. Dating back to 1407, the property embodies an enduring symbiosis between original country house and luxury boutique hotel, woven into the very fabric of Salzburg life. Steeped in history, the hotel's petite proportions understate its significance as a cultural landmark, where the crossroads of music, art and cuisine intersect. Located in the Baroque heart of the historic center, Hotel Goldener Hirsch inhabits the fairy tale setting with natural grace. In the bijoux lobby, white-washed walls and leather furniture are offset with ancient arches and historic artefacts, like the hand-carved reception desk and heirloom wooden key case. Traditionally dressed associates, wearing uniforms reminiscent of national Tracht, welcome guests with a rare warmth that resonates across generations. Six centuries of history, the much beloved Goldener Hirsch style melds harmoniously with the most modern amenities. In 70 rooms and suites carefully curated antiques such as shoemaker's benches transformed into tables combine effortlessly with the latest televisions and coffee machines by Illy. Traditional "Fleckerlteppich" rugs complement the solid wood floors as well as hand-printed fabrics in pink, cornflower blue and red from the Salzburg firm Jordis. Refreshing sleep is assured in king-size and twin beds. Generously proportioned bathrooms in marble with porcelain by Villeroy & Boch offer shower or tub, or shower and tub. The view out onto Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz or Getreidegasse enchant, while soundproof windows ensure that rooms are always quiet.

From the minute we circled the hotel 3 times to figure out how and where to park to our check out it was thrilling. Great room, very modern and comfortable. music in the bathrooms and awesome tools and bedding and Customer service , it was one of the top hotels we have ever stayed at. Lobby bar was quaint ant great. Too bad they had a few very loud American tourists. Loved this hotel and the quality of the room was second to none. I have stayed at Four Seasons that did not have this great of a room. The restaurant was unreal too and they made it seem it was not the gourmet restaurant, but we thought it was spectacular.

Stayed here three nights and I wished it was longer! It took a while for our room to be ready, but that gave us the opportunity to try their restaurant for lunch. It was good. We also enjoyed the hotel bar, especially Patrick the bartender. He was excellent, and so friendly. Our room was spacious and had lovely traditional Swiss decor, with the modern conveniences, too. Enjoyed opening the windows for some fresh air, and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the under-cabinet motion-sensor footlights! So helpful when getting up early and not wanting to turn on overhead lights or lamps. Why don’t more hotels do this?!? The high-end coffee/espresso machine was much appreciated, too. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, with attentive service. Perfect location, great staff and amenities. Can’t wait to return!!

I just completed a five-night stay at Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, and it was fantastic. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of the Old City, making it easy to walk to nearly all the major attractions. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The staff was warm, gracious, and always helpful. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and full of rustic charm that added to the overall experience. I highly recommend Hotel Goldener Hirsch to anyone visiting Salzburg.

We stayed here three nights during the Rupert Festival. The location of this hotel and the level of service they provide is beyond compare. I am a Marriott Titanium member so that may be a factor in my visit - but only a small one. This was my third visit to Salzburg and my second to the hotel - we were hear for the Christmas markets in November. My stay before that was at the Sheraton when they still gave Titanium members access to the lounge. The Sheraton now has a very mediocre lounge for elite members so I wont be returning. And I can see no reason to with how nice Hotel Goldner Hirsch is. We were upgraded to a very nice junior suite on the backside of the hotel - had there not been so much construction outside it would have an amazing view - but they cant control that and I have no complaints at all. Considering the festival was on I did not expect an upgrade - so I really appreciate that. At check in we received an invite to the bar for two free drinks and a small treat. You can use it between 2-4 any night of your stay. The hotel itself is a little quirky and takes some getting used to - for example there are two elevators to get up to your room in some cases. Once you get used to it its not an issue. The lights in the room can also be very confusing - there are many light switches and some motion activated lights - never fully figured it all out - but its an old historic building so to be expected. Its part of the coolness of it. Its location is a very short walk to most things for example Mozarts house, the main square and Augustiner Bräu Mülln. I don't think the location can be beat. The breakfast is a bit pricey at 50 euros a person, but book a rate that includes it - its a great breakfast and great service. Luckily with Titanium I get it for free. they have all the standard stuff as well as a small menu with things like crepes, eggs benedict and waffles. Make sure to order from the menu. In addition on my last day we were getting a train to Nurnberg and they gave us to go boxes so we could make a sandwich to take with us - that came in very handy and I really appreciate it. Looking forward to my next visit - I will be back and this is where I plan to stay.

We booked this hotel for its location in Salzburg as well as being a Marriott hotel. The rooms were classic Austrian, but with modern conveniences. Very clean with a very friendly staff. We did not eat in the restaurant, but had a few beers in the small but well equipped bar. Old hotel with many great quirky hallways. We would stay there again. The most impressive part of our stay was Anja who was a front desk staff member, she was so helpful & kind, we wanted to go for a day trip to lake Wolfgansee but with little knowledge of how to get there, Anja helped make our day spectacular ! Thank you for going above & beyond Anja.
