Hotel Sacher Salzburg

It’s a lovely property with a nice location. They have beautiful rooms, some with high ceilings. Good in room amenities. Most of the experience is 5 star (European) but I did experience the service aspect to be lacking somewhat. If you expect concierge services to be available at any time or and top notch, you might be a little frustrated as they were frequently unavailable, not at the desk, missing during normal hours. Waited several times for unacceptable time before someone from front desk would come and try to give assistance. This aspect was quite lacking as far is the help received. Service at breakfast was very good. Good selection at breakfast buffet. Check-in, while friendly, was not exactly smooth and I was given the smallest and lowest room despite having a confirmed upgrade (had to be delayed somewhat while getting this straightened out). So overall, my experience was a bit disappointing and lackluster. I imagine if service was on par, it would’ve been a great stay. I favor LHW properties. I would probably give them one more try.

LOVE this hotel~! Service is beyond exceptional. Hotel is clean, pristine, love our welcome fruit and chocolate. Go to the Cafe for a cappuccino and the infamous Sacher Torte. Front Desk are beyond amazing. So helpful. Go to the bar and have a drink, they are just as exceptional. The restaurant is a good choice for dinner (especially if you can sit outside). Breakfast is very good too. Rooms are kept impeccably clean! 5 all around! I will miss this hotel very much!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sacher. The staff were all lovely, and kindly upgraded me to a suite (220), which had a great vibe and just the right amount of space for me. The food was good (especially enjoyed the fresh fruit juices), although I'm not totally sure the famous Sacher entirely lives up to the hype. Overall, would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

A really great location and exceptionally friendly team. But OMG, the room size - ridiculously small. This was what they called a deluxe room at an average rate of €1,810 per night. My wife and I moved stuff like luggage racks etc under the bed to give us room to move. We did speak to Simon, I believe the duty manager, who offered us a different but also a same class "deluxe" room which had to be 40% bigger. (Thank you Simon). Still a very small room but passable. This hotel is ok but rooms of that size do not belong in a luxury class hotel. Especially not at those prices. After Salzburg we were headed to Vienna but also a Sacher hotel - decided we were done with the Sacher group (see my review of the Sacher in Seefeld) so canceled Sacher Vienna and stayed at the Mandarin Oriental which was amazing. Will review separately.

One night stay; great location within walking distance of all the sights in the old town and next to the mirabelle gardens. Best Wiener Schnitzel ever and the famous Sacher Torte. The front door/welcome greeters went above and beyond in helping with a bicycle issue. Excellent friendly staff.
