Hotel Contessa

Overall experience was great. The location is perfect, the hotel was intentional with every detail. The beds are great- and the pillows are perfect. The spa was just as impressive. Rebecca has by far the softest yet firmest hands and she made every minute count. Definitely recommend this hotel and spa if you’re looking to treat yourself. Well worth it.

Lovely stay - spacious suites with direct access from hotel to Riverwalk! The website pictures do not do this hotel justice - everything is much better and more modern but keeping in the character of San Antonio. The hotel was very busy due to some conventions and the final four basketball tournament but this didn’t compromise the stay. Great location with lots in walking distance - wouldn’t hesitate to return and would recommend.

I have to say this hotel was amazing. After staying here, every other hotel room will seem lacking. I saw the pictures before I booked but wasn’t convinced it would be as nice as it was. You basically get a small one bedroom apartment. A living room and separate bedroom with a door. This is a perfect set up for couples who are on different sleeping schedules or need to work while the other is sleeping. Each room has a TV in it that you can stream your own content to which was fantastic. Décor was so cool and modern but had a warm cozy feel. Being right on the Riverwalk was also amazing and very convenient. There is a restaurant, lobby, and second floor patio you can hang out at and watch the riverboats go by. The only thing that needs some attention is the bathroom. Perfectly fine but if you are going to bill yourself as a luxury property, then everything needs to be up to par. The curtain rod was loose and sagging a bit, the sink drain plug was cracked, and the toilet had steak marks from what I assume is iron in the water. Small things but they should addressed.

I’ve stayed in every hotel that is on the riverwalk and none come close to experiencing you’ll receive here. The personal treatment you receive at contessa is something you will not receive anywhere else. From the moment you pull up you are greeting with smiling faces from employees such as Nadine in the valet and AJ who took care of getting my lugage to my suite. Then we went to the restaurant and the bar tender Michael made us some amazing original cocktails. An amazing time from arrival to departure. All this was made possible by the incredible people including the great people at the front desk - AprilAnd Alex and Natazha(who made our stay extra special). Can’t wait to stay here again!!

My only complaint as something that should be improved is the restaurant service, for example if you are going to serve a coffee serve the sugar before or with the coffee so that it doesn't get cold. The same thing happened to me with the salt and pepper. They brought me breakfast and I had to wait for the salt and pepper and then my egg was cold as well as the coffee.
