Hotel Contessa

Very nice hotel, the live music was dope. The location is perfect! I had a slight issue upon arrival but it was resolved quickly. I def would recommend this hotel!

Great location on Riverwalk. All decked out for upcoming Fiesta. Comfortable room and entire hotel was clean and fresh smelling.

Our "looking forward to" expectations for staying at this "all-suite" hotel were quickly dispelled upon arrival when the sharp-tongued check-in clerk informed us that we could not have a lower-floor corner room as promised, but instead were on the 11th floor. We also learned that we had to pay upfront a "service fee" of $75 per day on top of the $464 per day room charge. Arrival in the suite - no bathrobes; safe broken, no wine glasses. Went to the front desk, where they tried to hand us two unfolded bathrobes, promised to have the safe fixed and to supply wine glasses. The safe was never fixed, and they ignored our request for a couple wine glasses,. Across from our room was a Staff storage room, which caused us to hear the coming and going slams of the door, especially in the early morning. There is much more I could tell you but this review has become too lengthy. In short our recommendation for the Hotel Contessa on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas is that you can find much nicer places to stay at a more reasonable price tag.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Proposal Weekend at Hotel Contessa I had the most amazing weekend at Hotel Contessa, and it turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. From the moment we arrived, everything was top-tier. The valet team was incredible—especially JT, who went above and beyond to help make my proposal possible. I had my engagement rings hidden in the glove compartment, and after explaining my plan, JT helped me by taking them up and placing them safely in the room. That level of trust and care meant everything. We also booked a spa experience, and it was absolutely perfect. The ladies at the spa made everything smooth, relaxing, and special for both my fiancée and me. It really set the tone for the rest of the day. Before heading up to the room, I had coordinated a surprise. A special shoutout to Jam at the front desk—she truly went above and beyond. I had DoorDashed rose petals to the hotel, and she personally went into the room ahead of our arrival and decorated everything beautifully. It was beyond what I imagined. She didn’t stop there—she also took the rings and delivered them to the restaurant downstairs at Ambler Texas Kitchen + Cocktails, where we had dinner reservations. She even helped decorate our table with petals, setting the stage for the big moment. At the restaurant, the service was just as amazing. When the time came, they brought out the rings, and one of the staff members even recorded a video of my proposal by the River Walk. That moment is something I will never forget. The entire staff at Hotel Contessa truly made this experience magical. Every single detail was handled with care, and they made something very personal feel effortless and perfect. This will definitely be a place we come back to—especially to celebrate anniversaries in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking to create a special, unforgettable experience.

Perfect location….on a beautiful stretch of the Riverwalk but slightly away from the busy restaurants. Great front pickup and drop off location. Within walking distance of the Alamo. Very helpful staff. Great price point.
