Beautiful Room, Fantastic Service, Excellent Value
Simply the best hotel we've experienced in the last 10 years. The location is central to everything in San Antonio. There is a CVS one block over, a What-a-Burger two blocks away, (big deal if you're in TX). From the lobby to the room, the hotel is warm and inviting (where other hotels are institutional). The drive in from Houston was a headache and Karen recognized how harried we were and anticipated our needs. She even sent up a nice charcuterie plate and chilled water to ensure our comfort. The view, city or Riverwalk, is phenomenal. I don't think there is a bad room in this hotel. Also, the coffee at the Ambler is great. We're already planning our next stay.

A Disappointing Birthday Celebration
A less than stellar experience for a highly rated hotel. At the onset, there was one disappointment after another. From checking in to our room expecting birthday decorations (which were pre-requested and promised) that were not there, to twice calling housekeeping for extra linens (we were asked if the “do not disturb sign” was hanging on the outside of the door), having to call housekeeping to have our towels replenished, ordering room service for 3 and only getting place settings for 2. There was absolutely no attention paid to detail. Our dissatisfaction was relayed to management and as yet, there has been no response.

So glad we splurged to stay here - felt like guests of honor & would 100% stay again. All the staff are committed to your comfort and treat you like friends you have knows since preschool. Thank you again for such a beautiful weekend. The birthday gift was so sweet and thoughtful!

River view king sized stay
My wife and I were very comfortable in our spacious river view room. Very spacious, with a full living area. The view was great and an ideal location on the river walk considering the other highly congested areas we witnessed.
