Thompson San Antonio Riverwalk

I organized a corporate event for 100+ here and everything was incredible! The food was great, the on-site dining options were phenomenal, our meeting spaces were perfect, and the staff was 10/10. I particularly loved the Bellman Armando (so helpful and friendly!) and Maria on our banquets team. Maria reminded me of my abuela, and every time I saw her smile it lit up my day and made me feel right at home!!

Location in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Rooms were very clean and sleek. Not much parking available at hotel and overnight Valet was $60 per day. Lobby Staff was very attentive and courteous.

My current favorite hotel. beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Fitness center was excellent. rooftop bar was superb! in room dining menu was a bit thin but tasty. I wish they had better coffee in the morning but once i figured out how to use the in-room espresso maker, that was great.

The breakfast experience was truly awful for $20+ per person. There were maybe 3-5 different parties of 2 at breakfast, it was not busy. Somehow it still took almost 45 minutes for us to get our food after ordering, much less get water/coffee or refills on anything. One of the breakfast dishes was missing a core ingredient (basically 1/3 of the meal), and eventually, we had to ask a separate employee (not our waiter) about the status of our food. The waiter seemed overwhelmed/overworked, as if the restaurant were understaffed. I was so disappointed. My wife was starving. We stayed at the hotel for her birthday, and we barely got to enjoy breakfast—just spent time waiting for food and trying to get a single refill on coffee/water. Second issue: the fridge in our room turned out to be broken in the morning after our stay, so the leftovers from my wife's birthday dinner and the entire cheesecake I had bought her were spoiled and had to be thrown out. When I calmly told the staff about this at checkout, they simply said "ok" and pretty much ignored the feedback. Very frustrating that the overall lovely appearance of the hotel was not matched by equivalent food service and/or staff. I am a long-term Hyatt member, and was amazed at the low bar of food experience, both at breakfast and the result of a non-functional fridge.

Beautiful hotel! Staff was exceptional in supporting any needs I had during my stay. Food was great. The coffee, bar, and pool deck were all fun. Great work trip!
