Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa

Food is great and also service. Room are specious and very nice but our room had a smell of mold so we enjoyed it less than we should have.

If you are looking for a luxury experience in La Fortuna, this is it! Rent a car; valet will retrieve your transportation quickly and you will be able to see so many different things (the 2+ hr drive around the lake from Liberia Airport is stunning!). The staff at the Tabacón Resort are kind, friendly and accommodating; rooms are thoroughly cleaned each day and turndown service is standard nightly. We stayed in a rainforest room (adults only section 👏👏🎉) The room was large and the balcony included a comfortable porch swing for 2 which we had furnished with a clean sheet each day. It was serene and peaceful. The bed and pillows were superb… I died each night and resurrected each morning. Additionally, having access to the thermal springs was such a gift after our long days of hiking and exploring. On several occasions during our 7 night stay we returned to our room to find “surprises”… fresh cut fruit or chocolate covered strawberries. Many staff members gave us incredible suggestions for local activities & restaurants in town. Stuart was our concierge. He was quick to respond to any question asked. Rafael always provided valet service with a smile and after retrieving our bags from the room & thoughtfully placing them in our car as we had breakfast, sent us on our way with many amazing suggestions for other places to see in Costa Rica.) From booking to departure, the Tabacon family made us feel welcome were special, welcome, honored guests. We loved our stay and were sad to leave 💔 Pura Vida Tabacón!

Truly unbelievable. Relaxing and refreshing. If you’re planing a trip to Costa Rica, don’t miss out on the opportunity to stay here! Also, we had Christian service our table each morning and he was absolutely amazing! It’s employees like Christian that make Tabacon such a great place!

My main takeaways from Tabacon were that the staff - literally everyone - were very attentive, respectful, courteous, and well-mannered. The resort itself was beautiful. The quality of the breakfast was pretty good, too; they offered fresh juice, a made-to-order grill, and a variety of breakfast foods that I think can accommodate different tastes. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. Definitely check out the spa if you can. Evelyn, my masseuse, was very professional and provided a great relaxation experience. Thank you! P.S. We had the most wonderful stay at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa during our honeymoon in Costa Rica. The place is truly magical — from the lush gardens and natural hot springs to the peaceful atmosphere that makes you instantly disconnect and relax. Our room was beautiful, the food excellent, and every member of the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. A special thank you to the team for their kindness and attention — especially for helping us with our laundry when our luggage never made it to Costa Rica. It may sound like a small thing, but it truly made a big difference and showed the genuine care of the Tabacón team. We will always remember this experience as one of the highlights of our honeymoon.
