Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa

In theory a very cool place and concept. But guys, the entry to the smaller pool next to the bar is legits going to claim the life of someone. After slipping and falling to the ground, I was thrilled not to have broken a bone. But I’m 40s, fit, and lucky. Older folks won’t stand a chance. I watched 5 other folks slip and the. Passed this note to workers. But it’s massive place, so I’m putting it here too. ‘At your own risk’ is totally cool, but this is pushing it too far. There’s a medical center at the entrance and I was so grateful not to use it. Please folks, there’s water literally everywhere. Serve pricy drinks, grab the tourist action, but let’s get everyone home safe. Before someone gets hurt or worse. Do it for the grandparents. Pura vida.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay in La Fortuna. Staff are very friendly and most speak at least passable English. Grounds are beautiful even around the rooms; the separate thermal springs area is gorgeous and spacious. And having the exclusive area for hotel guests is very nice.

Excellent experience all around! From the moment we arrived everything was organized, tranquil, and beautiful. The staff was so kind! Some of the best customer service we experienced. We were going to stay at Baldi but after a terrible experience there we were able to change our stay to Tabacon instead and I’m SO glad we did! The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay seamless and relaxing. The thermal pools were so nice, we traveled with my 2 year old son and he had a blast!! The food was excellent, the breakfast every morning was also delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Thank you to Betty, Frank, Alex, Joshua! Yall are awesome and our stay was unforgettable 💗

We stayed here for two nights during our 10 day trip to Costa Rica, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The resort is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the hot springs are Wonderful! We ate at the Toucan Restaurant one night and the Ave Restaurant another and both were delicious but we were even more delighted with the complimentary breakfast buffet. There were lots of families with young children which I actually enjoyed but there is an "adults only" area in the thermal springs called Shangri La for those who prefer.

We celebrated my son's 5th birthday there and we had a blast! From the ease of the Jacamar tours, the beauty of the thermal baths or the wonderful food options on site - it was magical.
