Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa

We had an excellent experience in Tabacon. My daughter has been making plans to visit there for nine years and we finally got the opportunity to do so. I will say I think the staff went out of their way and went the extra miles to take care of us and our needs. We felt very comfortable and happy. I am handicap and everyone was so kind patient and accommodating to help me enjoy the facilities and the spa. The food was excellent. Hats off to the chef from breakfast to dinner. I am in. I am handicap and I feel the room could’ve been a little bit more handicap, friendly, such as more grab bars in the bathroom, higher toilet with help, and the bathroom floors not being so slippery. Even with that our time was excellent. Thank everyone very much.

Beautiful Resort, rooms well appointed, exceptional service with attention to the details that create a true luxury experience, from the valet to the front desk to the room service to the gift shop to the restaurant staff to the spa to the thermal pool staff, every single encounter was warm, welcoming and attentive. Tabacón is pure magic. From the moment you step onto the property, you’re surrounded by lush rainforest, the sound of running water, and an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and natural. The thermal river is unlike anything else — a series of cascading pools, each with different temperatures, all heated naturally by the Arenal Volcano. Spending a day moving between warm waterfalls and hidden pools felt like a dream. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, from the immaculate grounds to the small touches in the spa and dining areas. The food and cocktails were excellent, with fresh local ingredients that matched the quality of the setting. What makes Tabacón stand out is the balance: it’s indulgent but still deeply connected to nature. You’re immersed in an ecosystem that feels alive and sacred. We left feeling completely recharged and grateful for the experience. Tabacón is a must-visit if you’re in Costa Rica — worth every moment.

Wonderful hotel experience that exceeded expectations. I originally visited the resort in 2005, and it was amazing how much they have expanded and renovated in the last 20 years. Facilities and dining were top-notch. Love that they added a covered walking path from the hotel grounds to the thermal springs part of the resort. Highly recommend the resort and we will definitely be returning.
