My partner and I stayed at Aldebaran and it was magical. I cannot recommend it enough. The whole peninsula feels tranquil but the hotel almost feels like a fairy tale. It's made of beautiful stone with vines growing on the front and a warm wood burning fire in the massive hearth at the center of the hotel. Everything is full of character and history-- from the skeleton key room key to the creaking wooden floors. Plus pictures cannot begin to do justice to the views. And that's just the building! The real heart of Aldebaran's charm is the staff. Lucia stayed up late and waited at the desk for us to arrive at midnight, and she was always happy to help my partner (who doesn't speak much Spanish) with translations or questions in English. Erica served us breakfast every day (delicious by the way) and was the most lovely, kind person we met on the whole trip!! I wanted to be best friends with her. And if all of that isn't enough, we also met the owner who was so warm and welcoming. If I could live at Aldebaran I would. (My only two words of advice are that there are no king or double beds- they put two twin/single beds together which is okay. But the two beds kept slipping apart on the wood floors, so no spooning haha. And the road to get there turns into a packed dirt road for the last mile or so-- be prepared for some bumps. Nothing our rental car couldn't handle though!)

In reading the other reviews of this hotel, I can’t help wondering if we are talking about the same hotel. This hotel is so far removed from anything in Bariloche. It is difficult to get an uber to come pick you up to go for dinner (so you need to rely on a fixed price taxi that is expensive and will only accept pesos). And you are going to want to go out for dinner because the menu at the hotel is limited and not great. The remote location would have been fine except that the access to the water is precarious at best. Water supply was either scalding hot or non existent. Wifi was spotty at best - I ran out of my data plan because wifi didn’t work most of the time anywhere in the hotel.

This boutique hotel is very nice, clean, food was delicious and service was great. Every single employee we came in contact with was very friendly, professional and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a great view. In my opinion it’s best to have a car while staying there because it is a little far from town but closer to many points of interest like the historical Hotel Lao Lao and Puerto Pañuelo. There is a nice beach on Lake Nauel Huapi that is only a 15 minute walk. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We absolutely loved it!!! The setting is beautiful (the pontoon down by the water is so special and made for great cold water morning swims). The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard everyday. The kitchen catered well to my wife’s food allergies. The staff are incredibly helpful (receptionists and waitresses) but a special mention must go to Ezra who we would be lost without - we had issues with our flights/an airline and after a few hours of trying to resolve, Ezra went above and beyond to save the day and get us to our next destination. I will be forever indebted to Ezra for this - he is a real credit to Aldebaran! I hope to be back soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The people at the hotel are very friendly. The rooms are clean and big. This is a good place for a honey-moon. Not to good if you want to explore the region do trecking etc. The hotel is not well prepared to serve and inform those clients. The restaurant is ok but service is slow….. If you do not have a car, take into account that taxis are VERY expensive. So choose a hotel close to the sites you want to visit. A
