Our company hosted a Regional Event at the Andaz, and we had the best time ever. I worked with Kiyomi during the event process, and she was great. She answered all the questions I had, and trust me, I had a lot. Ernie and his F&B team were outstanding. They were timely with the food layouts, there to assist, and very welcoming. Not to mention, the food was great! Our AV team was great; they had the setup complete before we even got downstairs. They walked us through all of our questions.

While the staff were friendly and the service welcoming and prompt, our room felt small and a bit shabbier than I expect from an andaz. The rooftop area is lovely space for breakfast but the food was only moderate- I expect andaz food to have more of a fresh farm to table feel while being flavorful and a little hipster. This was sort of average tasting and not as freshz

Room 307 was very small, had a diabolical glass partition, smelled funky, and featured a view of the homeless shelter next door. The service was friendly enough and the location handy to most downtown things. We walked about 20min to a concert at Rady Shell with plenty of things to do along the way. Just don't walk the other way. I did not understand the room layout at all. We ran into the glass 'wall' several times at night. The door to the toilet/shower closet was awkward. I get it, they're trying to do a lot in a small space but this design isn't it. The room smelled of the load of laundry you forgot about in the washer and felt pretty used. This stay served its need. Not bad. Not spectacular. Totally adequate...but I think it markets itself as something above what it is.

Our experience was great! The front desk staff was very helpful and happy to help! The rooftop staff was not as attentive and they were not busy when we visited on a Saturday morning. We were one of three parties there at the time. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper since you can hear the music from the bars. They provide earplugs. Luckily we didn't have to use them since we didn't mind a little noise. Overall, we had a great time.

Very noisy location. Room not as clean as one would expect from a Hyatt. And it is in a very noisy part of the area. Staff made excuses and told me “it is what it is”! For the price, I would have expected better.
