Our stay at the Andaz San Diego was perfect. Ideal location, walkable to many of San Diego's tourist destinations. Lots of delicious food nearby and easy access to public transportation.

Great recent stay at Andaz San Diego. The staff were outstanding throughout, especially Angie Silva who went above and beyond to help with a matter during my stay. The location is very central in the Gaslamp area, which is ideal for getting around but does mean it can be quite loud late at night, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays. Also a small confession: apparently one PhD is not sufficient to operate the rather complicated shower. Overall a really positive stay and I would happily return.

When you've stayed at other Andaz properties, you hold it to a very high standard. This hotel did not meet that. It was just... OK. Andaz prices on things like drinks, bottles of water in the room ($9). Room was clean. The staff was nice. You definitely hear the city. Would we stay again at THIS location? Probably not. It's more about us having high expectations for Andaz and this was not it.

I paid for a three night stay and booked an Andaz Suite. When I checked in, I was given a normal king room. I was never told that I was downgraded. It was only afterwards did I go back to the lobby and asked about my room situation. I was informed that all Andaz Suites were sold out for the duration of my stay. I was offered $50 a day and 10,000 points as compensation, but the problem is I would never have picked the property had I known I was just getting a normal king room. Two other problems: they took my money ahead of time, and I was somehow the first one to be downgraded; and why did I have to inquire about my room status? They should have told me that they did not have my room ahead of time.

Andaz hotel is itself a wonderful experience. It has a fantastic rooftop outdoor dining and relaxation environment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel does its best to make the experience exactly what you want it to be. Great location too.
