We love staying here. It is in walking distance for just everything. Post Office, FedEx, restaurants, entrainment. Plus the staff is delightful.

Just Awful
I'm a globalist with Hyatt, and stay at Hyatt properties 75-80 night per year. I have never had a bad experience at any Hyatt property until I stayed at the Andaz, San Diego. I had such a negative experience with the front desk manager that I had to leave, and I checked into the Marriott for the rest of my stay. Look at other properties before you stay here. The homeless encampments all around the hotel were another negative to this property

Cool vibe, nice property
The Andaz San Diego Gaslamp is a great hotel in a great area. Lots of great restaurants, bars, clubs, and comedy nearby. The gym is small but there is good equipment and they had everything I need. The rooftop bar was a very cool spot. Go for happy hour and the drinks are fairly reasonable. Junior is the bartender at the Rooftop bar and he was very professional and made great drinks with great service.

Be in Gaslamp without being IN it
Just on the outskirts of Gaslamp. Close enough to be in it but just far enough to not be IN it. Tons of places in walking distance without getting back and still hearing all the hustle and bustle of the night life. It's a great location if you want your peace to sleep in on the mornings and to get back at night without being in the middle of the rowdiness.
