Location is great. Rooms are nice, bathroom in the room I had was strange, no door where sink is and grass door for toilet and shower, very little privacy

I don't usually write reviews unless the service or experience was so bad that I want an opportunity to vent and warn others. But after visiting the Andaz in San Diego, I had to stop and take a moment to celebrate how AMAZING my experience was. From check-in, to time spent upstairs at the pool/lounge/restaurant, and the room itself -- I did not want to leave!! I can easily say that this was my favorite hotel experience in the past 5+ years, and will be coming back ASAP. One and only downside is that there is only valet parking, which is very expensive, but that's normal for San Diego downtown, so not going to knock off any stars or points for that at all.

My family and I had a terrific 1-night experience at the Andaz San Diego. As a globalist on an award stay, my valet parking and destination fee were comped, as was breakfast (for a family of four) at the rooftop. We were upgraded to a deluxe king room that smelled a bit musty but was otherwise great for our needs. We were worried about street noise because of prior reviews but we could barely hear anything from the hallways or street during our entire stay. The pool is small but the water was comfortably warm and perfect for wading. The afternoon wine/beer hour is a very nice touch! We were here for mother's day/padres game and will definitely be back.

Great hotel! Comfortable and clean, walking distance to a lot of places near Gas Lamp. Breakfast was great! Just beware of the homeless encampment next door. Lots of folks sleeping in tents.

Beautiful hotel, rough downtown area. The rooftop area is really nice - the pool is warm and it is a comfortable area. My room was spacious and clean.
