Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Excellent venue. Staff were amazing. Food was excellent. The lobby was beautiful. The spa was fabulous. Beautiful grounds. Golf course was amazing and so was our caddy, Jimmy. Neal at the front desk was very helpful and the valet staff were excellent.

From the moment my sister and I pulled up to the valet to the afternoon of checkout, our stay was nothing but exceptional. The hotel had a real Christmas tree in the lobby that was decorated beautifully. The warm greeting and professionalism exhibited by the front desk associate was something we really appreciated. The personal escort to the elevator was a nice touch. We booked a two queen fireside room and it was very luxurious. The shower was wonderful and all the fixtures were high end (brass if I’m not mistaken). The turn down service was very nice as well. Housekeeping had refreshed the coffee bar for us and gave us fresh towels. The furnishings and lighting in both the rooms and throughout the property elicited a very calming, old money feel without being pretentious. We enjoyed the adults only pool which also had great service. If I had any criticism, it would be that the pool should be another degree or two warmer. 81 is still a bit chilly in December. But overall it was a very premium experience and I absolutely would return.

There is perfection in small and big things alike - pillows are perfect softness, towels are perfectly absorbent, mattress is exact firmness, gym is world class. People go out of their way to be helpful - I needed hot milk and I asked for it at the bar. It was immediately provided. Staff is all about yes and how. Meeting rooms have super lighting and accoustics. The lawns are magnificently manicured and fun to go for a stroll. I would encourage restaurant to widen selections for vegetarians.

We love this property. The building, decor, facilities are great. The rooms are large and nicely furnished. Housekeeping does an excellent job, in the rooms and throughout the property. And, what really raises the Grand Del Mar to a 5 star level, is the service. At every point of contact the staff are courteous, friendly and helpful.

Wonderful experience. We had a vista suite and it was lovely. Great food and service for breakfast and dinner at the Amaya restaurant. Service through out was outstanding. Could not have enjoyed our four day stay more.
