Set amidst Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, this 249-room luxury San Diego resort captures the elegance and comfort of an old-world Mediterranean estate with an enviable Southern California locale. Its design honors the indelible style of visionary architect Addison Mizner (1872 – 1933) who drew his inspiration from Spain’s palaces and France’s sun-washed coastal retreats.

Our stay has been both relaxing and enjoyable The hotel is over the top detailed and hospitable. We golfed 3 days and loved the course. The course is beautifully maintained and quite undulating with great views. Hiking trails are lovely also.

The hotel in general was very good and clean and the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful, the sport facilities (golf, Pickleball, Padel and swimming) were great. Unfortunately the e-bikes weren’t working, and the bocce courts and corn hole games area was neglected for the whole stay which was a shame.

Hotel area is huge and lots of walking around possible and of course golfing. Pool is not huge but was ok. Area around is nice. Nice large room with an outside fireplace which was cool. Big bathroom with great shower and Nespresso in the room. Did not find any complementary coffee in the morning in the hotel but there is shop to buy some. nice conference area and places for drinks outside. Food and drinks in hotel are very expensive. Hotel is overall quite expensive.

Spent three nights at the Fairmont and was continuously impressed at every turn. From the team working the front door, to the front desk attendees, general staff and managers I encountered. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Although I did not visit a restaurant, the food provided to our business group of 100 was of high quality. So it would lead me to believe the restaurant food would be even better. Worth the experience and I hope to return and enjoy the R & R aspect of what the property provides.

A very nice hotel with well appointed rooms. Massive bathrooms, well laid out, and comfortable bed, not too soft or hard. Service is very friendly and helpful. Lovely lounge up front filled with cushy chairs that becomes a bar at 4pm. Good selection of wines though inflated prices. The onsite restaurant was fine — a great trout fillet — with ample outdoor seating for nice days. Just a very nice spot though be aware a lot of business people looking busy during the week. Small distraction.
