Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Nik checked us in and she was so kind and helpful. Explained the grounds to us and was the best welcome to our stay. Keep you posted on the rest of the trip but she needs a raise. She was great.

This was by far our favorite hotel during our trip to California. We kept saying we wish we had just stayed there or that we could cancel our other hotels and go back. We loved that the grounds were peaceful, it felt like a vacation within a vacation. A true escape. We loved that you could stay on the grounds and never run out of things to do but, it was close enough that we could experience La Jolla or San Diego proper. It was lovely from the room to the grounds. We had a firepit room and the kids especially liked roasting smores and they even did a movie tray and ice cream night. We took advantage of the golf course, the horses, pickleball, the pool and more.

Very pleasant experience! Fancy staycations for us. Great staff and atmosphere. You get what you pay for here. We go when we know it’s not going to be too crowded.

The hotel is in amazing shape for a property that appears to be approaching 20+. Lobby, fitness center, pools and grounds all well maintained. Rooms are ornate and very spacious. Updated thermostats. Could use some usb c connections bedside/desk. What makes the property worth every penny - the people. Everyone of the employees we met was first rate. They took pride in their jobs and prioritized customer experience. Every ask, small issue, request etc was met with a smile and a can do attitude.
