Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton

I just want to warn people that their restaurant Sea and Sky overcharges for room service. On the menu, a latte is $7.25 but they charged us $16.25, a cappuccino is listed as $7 but they charged us $14.25, and we ordered one ginger ale but they charged us for two $5 drinks instead of one. I called the hotel so they could fix this, filled out the form on the website, and emailed them. We got a response that made no sense. The email we received said they would fix the mistake when we fill out the "new folio". No idea what that means. There was no "folio" attached to the email, and why so many steps just to have a simple correction made and refund to our account. We were basically given the runaround, and that's disappointing. We stayed in this lovely hotel for 5 nights. We felt at home the entire stay. The hotel is a wonderful base of operations whether you plan to hang out at the beaches in La Jolla or explore Balboa Park. Eddie, the waiter, is everyone’s best friend starting with the first meal in the in-house restaurant. Pepita, housekeeping manager, runs a tight ship and it shows. There is not a scrap of paper where it does not belong. The front desk staff was attentive and precessional. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

I had an amazing time here at the hotel

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times in the last 2 months. They are slipping. The room this time was only ok. As a Hilton Gold member thought I could extend my checkout until noon. Denied. They can do better.

pros, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms size was very decent, the shampoos, conditioner and lotions are of good quality, its also next door a gas station that has a store that is quite stocked. cons, the rooms could use some tlc, the cleaning could be better, the pool is small and the bar area by pool is currently under renovation.
