We were married here 26 years ago, so returning to celebrate our 26th anniversary felt incredibly special. Living in San Diego, this has become our go‑to property for any staycation. We had a wonderful time enjoying all the amenities—from the spa and Vessel restaurant to the poolside cabana and the open firepits on the sand. It truly felt like we were vacationing far from home. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, featuring a cozy fireplace and a balcony overlooking the marina. We can’t wait to come back!

Do NOT choose this property. I selected this hotel based on the Chase Edit recommendation, and it turned out to be a serious mistake. This is a very mediocre hotel with unacceptable front desk service, especially during the evening shift (4:00 PM–12:00 AM). The front desk agent on duty—a young man, possibly a college student—demonstrated no professionalism, no courtesy, and no basic customer service training. He did not greet guests and appeared completely unprepared to handle even simple customer issues. We had a serious privacy issue in our room: the curtains were not functional, and our room directly faced the pool, making the room fully visible. Despite reporting this immediately, the issue was ignored for 4–5 hours. I followed up three times within two hours and was ultimately told to “live with it.” This response alone is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one promoted as a premium option. When I finally requested to speak with the General Site Manager, he quickly offered to move us to another room. Until that point, the front desk agent repeatedly insisted there were “no rooms available,” even though I clearly stated I was willing to be downgraded from our “marine view” room. He simply refused to help. The only positive aspect of the stay was breakfast—the food was good, and the breakfast staff were courteous and professional. Unfortunately, the checkout experience was just as poor. The same front desk agent handled checkout around 11:00 AM and again provided incorrect information regarding additional room charges. He was unable to reconcile the charges until my daughter produced receipts from the market store. When I requested a final checkout receipt, he refused, stating, “We don’t print those—it will be sent via email.” Completely unacceptable. This property shows systemic failures in front desk training, customer service, and basic hospitality standards. If you value professionalism, transparency, and being treated with basic respect, do not stay here. There are far better options available.
