Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego

While this is a visually beautiful hotel in a great location, several issues made it hard to justify the high price point. A few main areas need improvement: Pool Availability: the main one was closed for renovations during my stay. Amenities & Service: Basic room essentials were missing I also asked the front desk twice for slippers and still never received them. Noise: I was placed in a connecting room with poor soundproofing, which meant I could hear my neighbors very clearly. It’s a nice hotel overall, but given the service lapses you can easily find better value elsewhere in the area.

I had a wonderful stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and quiet, with a great view, and I felt safe throughout my stay. Everything was well maintained and made for a relaxing visit. What really stood out, however, was the amazing customer service from the front desk staff. Yessica provided exceptional service recovery when the system was down and I was unable to check in and Jazzy was equally amazing and went above and beyond to help me sort out some billing questions at departure. Both Yessica and Jazzy were professional, friendly, and genuinely committed to making sure I had a positive experience. Overall, it was a great stay, and the outstanding customer service made it even better. I truly appreciated how the staff handled unexpected situations with such kindness and professionalism. I look forward to returning!

Had a great staycation trying to relax for a couple of days. Worked out at the clean gym and then sat by the pool for many hours enjoying the sun and eating pool side. Our room was fantastic with a view of the bay and we had the best nights sleep. Thank you!

Our family of 4 stayed there a day during the weekend. I am a globalist and used a suit upgrade award. Sofa bed and rollaway was provided so no issue with 4 people. Well located property in front of water and enjoyed the lounge as well. highly recommended.

First visit to the Manchester Grand Hyatt. I normally stay at another hotel in the Gaslamp because I prefer to stay in that area, but as a Hyatt loyalist, I had to check it out. First off, the hotel is huge - two tall towers right near Seaport Village with beautiful views of the harbor. When we arrived, the valet staff immediately came over to grab our bags while we checked in. I was greeted right away at the front desk and recognized for my Hyatt status. The agent (I forgot her name) noticed I wasn’t booked in one of the more ideal rooms, so she checked to see if she could upgrade me to a suite. I’d even offered to pay if there was a slight cost difference, but unfortunately there weren’t enough suites available for the duration of my stay. Still, I really appreciated her checking without me even having to ask. What she did do was move us to a better room with what she said was a better view—and she was absolutely right. We had a beautiful view of Seaport Village, and it even gave us the opportunity to watch fireworks that appeared to be coming from near the USS Midway. I really enjoyed that experience and being able to take in such a great view right from my bed. The hotel was recently renovated, and it is definitely noticeable. Despite being a very large property, it still felt quite upscale, and the décor was very nice. I would hate to see what it looked like before the upgrade 😂, but I appreciated the design details that made such a large hotel still feel welcoming and modern. My room was larger than anticipated, with ample closet space and a great-sized bathroom. The smart TV and A/C worked very well, and I also appreciated how clean the room was. While I opted out of housekeeping this time around, I did catch the housekeeping staff a few times for fresh towels and coffee pods, and they were always helpful. I even requested a microwave and it was rushed up to me - I was thoroughly impressed. The one thing I did not like was the restriction on how the resort fee credit could be used. While I understand that many hotels charge resort or destination fees, at this hotel the credit was restricted to the rooftop bar area. Beautiful rooftop place but I thought it was unfortunate, especially if you’re not a drinker. I found myself going up there the first night and buying potstickers just so I could use the credit, but I never returned after that. I found it a bit annoying because the hotel has other restaurants and shops where I felt the credit could have been much more useful. Please fix this. Overall, it is a beautiful hotel in a very convenient location in my favorite city and managed by my favorite hotel brand. I really enjoyed my stay, and between the service, renovated rooms, location, and beautiful harbor views, I would certainly stay here again.
