As a Hyatt Globalist member, I had high expectations for this stay—but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with the brand. I reached out to the hotel several days before arrival, yet never received a response—even after my stay ended. I eventually booked through the Global Concierge, but none of my requests were acknowledged at check-in. Despite arriving early, I had to wait until after 1:30 PM for my room. When I returned later, the staff member who had assisted me in the morning did not remember me, and I had to explain everything again. I later realized that no information about hotel facilities had been provided, forcing me to search online myself. The front desk staff were also not particularly welcoming, which added to the frustration. The room itself was not properly cleaned. There were leftover food crumbs on the chair and visible food stains on the table—something that should never happen at this level of hotel. The club lounge experience was equally disappointing. Breakfast and evening offerings were both far below expectations. Despite having an egg station, scrambled eggs dominated the already limited breakfast selection, while toppings like mushrooms took up much of the space. There were very few actual food options, and even basic items like ranch dressing were missing. Dinner was even worse—it felt more like light snacks than a proper meal. There was no substantial protein option such as chicken. Out of three hot dishes, two were dumplings and the third was a spinach dip. The menu felt careless and lacked effort. If I had paid out of pocket for this stay, I would have been extremely upset. In contrast, I stayed at the Irvine Regency last winter for about 10 days, and although the selection was not extensive, it was well-prepared and varied daily. This property, however, did not come close to that standard. This was my first stay as a Globalist, and I honestly could not feel any difference compared to when I held a lower-tier status. It made me question whether the effort to achieve Globalist status was truly worth it. While the location is excellent for visiting San Diego, the hotel itself does not live up to the reputation of the Hyatt brand. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property to others, as it diminished the positive experiences I’ve had with Hyatt in the past.

Room was left unmade, not checked twice by housekeeping. Check your bill carefully. We were double charged for parking on multiple days. Glasses and ice bucket not cleaned in room. Hotel offered credit at the top of the hotel bar, not given. Breakfast buffet great and service there great. Make sure Lobby bathrooms are in working order or boy do you have a long walk to an escalator to get to another floor! This went on for 4 days! During the day the lobby bar or bites isn’t open so if you want to relax there and have a conversation, bring your own!

The Best location overall. clean and excellent facility. Gym was clean and had all the equipment with clean towels. Breakfast buffet was better than expected.

Staying at this hotel is such an awesome experience. It rates top notch in every aspect, the huge, marble lobby area would seem cold and distant, but instead is very welcoming and grand. The staff ranging from wait staff at the Top of the Hyatt to housekeeping were all smiles and look like they love their jobs. The Landing is a comfortable place to relax. The breakfast buffet is so good. The room facing the bay is mesmerizing. The atmosphere, service, food, everything is such a wonderful experience. Rave, rave, rave.
