As the city’s only beachfront AAA Four Diamond hotel, the intimate 73-room property places guests just steps from the sand while providing a boutique atmosphere that feels both exclusive and effortlessly Californian. Recently refreshed throughout, the hotel features bright, coastal-inspired accommodations with private patios or balconies, many showcasing panoramic ocean vistas. We had a wonderful five nights in Pacific Terrace. We had a Junior suite with ocean view, located on 2nd floor. We loved the spacious balcony, which overlooked the pool area and the beach. The hotel is located at the northern end of Pacific Beach - with direct access to the ocean front walk and steps down to the beach. The staff were always friendly and very helpful, and the hotel provided beach chairs, parasols, bicycles and beach toys for guests to use as needed. There are plenty of really good food and drink options within a short walk of the hotel - with the chicken wings at Dirty Birds PB a must. Whilst by no means the cheapest place to stay in PB, we found it well priced for the level of product offered. There is underground parking on-site with self-park and valet options (both for a nightly fee). We opted for self-park, and to be honest couldn’t see the point of valet when the parking was onsite and directly accessible from the hotel elevator. In fact it was probably easier to be able to drop things down to the car in the basement instead of needing a valet to assist. We didn’t include breakfast when booking, but ended up eating breakfast at the hotel some mornings, and eating at other local breakfast restaurants on other mornings, and we think that is probably the approach we would recommend if asked. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and the facilities and staff at the hotel played a big part in that. When we next visit San Diego, we hope we can come back to Pacific Terrace.

Had a wonderful time staying at the Pacific Terrace Hotel in San Diego. The staff is incredible and very accommodating, and you are right next to the PB boardwalk and there’s several places to eat/shop at right next to the hotel. The hotel is right on the ocean and the hotel offers beach toys and boogie boards to use, which I thought was awesome. They also let you rent bikes if you need another way to travel on the boardwalk! Another amazing thing about this place is we could walk from our room straight out to the pool, and they had poolside service for drinks and food. You definitely get what you pay for it was an incredible place to celebrate 2 years with my girlfriend, and I will definitely be coming back!!

We were extremely happy with our stay. The location was excellent, and the staff was amazing. There was great attention to detail, and everything was thoughtfully prepared to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location with overnight on-site parking available. You exit the pool gates right onto the ocean walk path with 2 beach access points very close by and the room views are wonderful. There's a lot to go into but here's the TL:DR version - excellent location, spacious rooms with good amenities and views, and amazing staff! To dig into it, all the staff are super friendly and helpful! The service is top notch, including turndown service with designer chocolates, and convenient poolside food and beverages (our kids thoroughly enjoyed the virgin pina coladas). The rooms are large with space for a family to easily navigate and store their belongings out of the way. Beds and pillows are comfy and the TV is large. The toilet and shower are separate from the sink and vanity area which is great when you are traveling with a family. The 2nd and 3rd story partial rooms have a true view of the ocean and plenty of balcony space to hang out on. Amenities wise, they take the cake - extra large bath towels, makeup mirror, plates/silverwear/drinkware, larger mini fridges, microwave, toaster, Keurig, and complimentary bottled water. At check-in and the pool, the complimentary amenities continue with quality Hurley boogie boards, sand toys, sports equipment, Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas, pool side cookies, and ice water/lemoade/ice tea jugs. and the 2nd and 3rd story partial view rooms have a great ocean views. The pool has quite a few tables, one with a fire pit for the evenings, and the pool is heated and feels wonderful. The lounge chairs are padded and comfy and they always keep lots of pool towels stocked. We've been to San Diego quite a few times and this has been our best hotel experience. Highly recommend!

We have been vacationing at the Pacific Terrace Hotel for 10 years now. We are treated like family from check in to it’s time to leave. The hotel provides spectacular views for morning coffee to afternoon cocktails. You are steps away from the beach. If you decide to stay poolside you are provided with great ocean views. (It’s like going to the beach without sand in your shoes :) ) There are so many great restaurants within walking distance the hardest part is choosing where to eat. If you are like me and do not like spending time in the car on vacation this area is great. With so many choices for your vacation dollar you can’t go wrong saying here. Thanks for another great vacation see you in September! M
