Rancho Bernardo Inn

The grounds of the Inn are quite lovely. The gardens and flowers and water features are all beautiful. The lobby with the inviting fireplaces is nice, but past the lobby and it is really not a place I would stay again. In the buildings where guests rooms are located, the smell is atrocious. The carpet is beyond worn out in the hallways and stairwells. Chair cushions throughout the hotel look as though they are decades beyond replacing. I have never been to a place in this price range that needed so much attention. My room was not clean, and again, some things are so dated that it would be hard to get them clean. In many public places, the cushions were missing from chairs. The spa is very meh. The private pool might be the best part, but the staff is not overly-friendly, so the service doesn't make up for lack of ambiance. The hot tub was worn out too and in need of refinishing. Interestingly, the food was outstanding. But equipment was broken in the cafe and they could not make hot coffee drinks. There are just too many other really nice places to stay in San Diego. They need totally renovate and update the property.

What a beautiful property with wonderful staff. Everyone is so very helpful and friendly. Meals were served with love and excellence. This place is a hidden gem get away from him drum chain hotels and resorts. Be prepared to get some exercise with walking the hills of the lovely property. Highly recommend!

We always LOVE coming to Rancho Bernado Inn! We have been here on several occasions in May for my child's sport tournament. This resort is a hidden gem in north San Diego. Beautiful hacienda -style architecture; the rooms are clean, super spacious with separate bathtub and shower stalls, equipped with queen sized beds, stylishly decorated with wooden plantation shutters. The staff is super friendly and courteous.. The on-site restaurants serve delicious food, and the grounds and golf course are beautifully landscaped and maintained. It is quite reasonably priced for all that it offers. Definitely a keeper!

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel and truly enjoyed our stay. The hospitality was exceptional, and the entire team made us feel very welcome. A special thank you to Benjamin Garcia, Director of Front Office at Rancho Bernardo, for his professionalism and kindness. Also, a big thank you to Jose from Cottage Dining for the amazing service and warm hospitality. They both made our experience even more special. We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service and memorable guest experience.

Had our wedding ceremony at a nearby venue over the weekend. Rancho Bernardo Inn went above and beyond in making our stay and wedding an amazing experience (despite the wedding being at a different venue). Very thankful for the spacious room upgrade that made it easier for our traveling hair and makeup artists. Celebratory snack and beverage with a kind note when we checked into the room was very thoughtful. Staff throughout the campus was eager to assist; somehow we were offered assistance and help as if they were reading our mind and knew where we were trying to go. Food was delicious and service at the restaurant was amazing as well! Half of our party was delayed by flight and they worked is us to merge our tables halfway through our dining experience. Top notch service!
