Excellent accommodations and service and reasonable pricing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I booked two single queen rooms. I was impressed with how spacious the rooms were. Both rooms were identical: a large desk with a comfortable chair and a large lounging chair, floor to ceiling windows that offered beautiful views, a very long bathroom sink countertop that provided ample space for toiletries, a large shower/bath combination, and a large closet. During the evening hours, local musicians provided quiet background music (harp, piano, and guitar) in the lobby. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The quality of the food and service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The hotel offers free freshly baked cookies in the early evening hours in the lobby. The hotel staff was very professional and friendly throughout our stay. The Gas Lamp district, Little Italy, and more are within easy 5-minute walks from the hotel. The trolley is near the hotel. I am truly impressed that the hotel offers such wonderful accommodations and service at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend the hotel.

A Great Stay, As Always

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We’ve stayed at the Westgate several times over the last year for business and for weekends away in San Diego. It always exceeds expectations. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds and marble bathrooms. The lobby is gorgeous, and the health club access next-door is unbeatable. One of the best hotel gym experiences I found anywhere. Best of all is the exceptional service and attention from the staff. They are always friendly, professional, and make you feel as though any request is never too much to ask. A special thanks to Sophia and Joe for making this stay particularly special. We are always happy to return.

I'd come back!

It's the people that made our stay so special...sure the amenities were great, clean well appointed rooms, with fabulous views, great pool area not to mention restaurant & bar. Really if you weren't in San Diego to vacation you wouldn't need to leave, but when you do, you are within walking distance to pretty much everything you want to see downtown. However, I think what really set this hotel apart are the people who work there, always friendly, helpful and seems genuinely wanting your stay to be a pleasant one.
