About the Hotel
The Westgate Hotel is located minutes away from the airport and the San Diego Convention Center, just steps from the trolley/train station, and is readily accessible by freeway. Within walking distance is the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Opera, the Symphony, Horton Plaza shops and Gaslamp Quarter energy. Designed as a re-creation of an anteroom in the Palace of Versailles, the Grand Lobby is noted for its magnificent antiques, Baccarat crystal chandeliers, Flemish and French tapestries and Persian carpets. The Westgate is considered a one-of-a-kind hotel. Completed in 1970, it was filled with a certain timeless elegance that is considered not to be readily found anywhere else in the San Diego, California area.

Best stay at any hotel!
Natalie is the best person in the front she went above and beyond for me on my 12 day stay. She truly cares and makes you feel as if you’re personally taken care of on all ends. I had the best stay at Westgate thanks to her. Thank you Natalie!!!

Pure Pleasure
Attended a Padre game with out of town guests and we all decided to make it a side trip by staying downtown San Diego. Chose the Westgate and could not have made a better choice!!! Staff was very hospitable, rooms were clean and well appointed with fantastic views! We were able to walk to the ball park and nearby restaurants, so, needless to say, nicely located...to put it simply our stay was a pure pleasure!

Lovely hotel for the price
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Westgate. It started with a warm welcome and attentiveness provided by staff members, Sarah and Mariana. Thank you for the excellent service. The Westgate is in a fantastic location, the rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. My family and I will definitely be returning.
