The Westgate Hotel

So, I was having an issue with the hotel and was ready to take my business elsewhere. Before I made the decision to leave, the manager reached out to me personally. When we had the chance to sit down, she was extremely professional and courteous. She expressed that my issue was just poor communication on what I was asking for. She offered to take care of my issue personally as well as any other issues or needs. Since I am staying for a while she even had a Microwave sent to my room! This is next level customer service. Another hotel would've just id ignored me. She then took me throughout the hotel and made me very welcomed. The staff here is honestly why I am staying. THEY ARE SO GREAT! Everyone at the front desk works very hard but they still make time to be personable. Every time I am downstairs, I am immediately greeted with a smile. They don't make you feel like you are just "another guest", but you are generally a part of the family. I am so glad I decided to stay. If I could give me 10 stars I would!

Our stay at the Westgate Hotel was fantastic. The hotel is elegant, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive. The room was spacious with great amenities, and the location is perfect — close to everything yet quiet inside. Truly exceptional service and a beautiful property. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Great spot to stay if you want super easy access to the San Diego civic center for concerts etc. Gas lamp area very close, 2 blocks, but you aren't in it so it feels safe and less busy. Easy access to the transit stop next to hotel. Great, pool, and spa area. Also work out facility with sauna very nice.

I've had better customer service at a Motel 6. First I paid for an early check in for 11:00 am. When I arrived I was told I could not check in until 1:30 p.m. I waited until 12:00 and then informed them that I paid to check in early. Suddenly a room appeared. I also paid to have a bottle of champagne delivered which never arrived. The following morning. I asked for a room service menu, which also never arrived. I decided I would just go down to breakfast. When I approached the front desk to ask where the restaurant is, a front desk clerk named Marianna snapped at me saying "I'm with a guest!" I found the restaurant on my own. (Which was good.) When I went to check out, the same front desk attempted a lame apology and ended up snapping at me again that she was with a guest! I reminded her that I'm a guest too. To add insult to injury, when I wrote the above review I got a call from Sarah, a customer satisfaction manager. She offered me free nights at the hotel if I would take the bad review down. I agreed. When my next trip to San Diego was being planned, I wrote to Sarah and called her to request my credits at the hotel. She NEVER responded. I ended up staying at the Marriot in Mission Bay. This is a terrible hotel and my experience could only have been worse if they set me on fire.
