About the Hotel
The Westgate Hotel is located minutes away from the airport and the San Diego Convention Center, just steps from the trolley/train station, and is readily accessible by freeway. Within walking distance is the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Opera, the Symphony, Horton Plaza shops and Gaslamp Quarter energy. Designed as a re-creation of an anteroom in the Palace of Versailles, the Grand Lobby is noted for its magnificent antiques, Baccarat crystal chandeliers, Flemish and French tapestries and Persian carpets. The Westgate is considered a one-of-a-kind hotel. Completed in 1970, it was filled with a certain timeless elegance that is considered not to be readily found anywhere else in the San Diego, California area.

Great staff—what you’d want in a hotel!
Came here for a conference. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Shower was awesome!! The conference was all at the hotel, and the staff and catering were superb. The interior is detailed and wonderfully renovated to keep that mid century gilded charm. It’s like going back to another era. A lovely stay and looking forward to returning!

Second time staying here. Very classic, elegant hotel. Spacious comfortable rooms. Check in was a breeze. Mariana and Meli were great.

Quick staycation
I stayed at this hotel for one night during a recent trip to San Diego, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Check-in was wonderful thanks to Meli who went above and beyond. When she found out we were there celebrating my daughter’s birthday, she surprised us by sending a special treat up to our room, which meant so much to us. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful view of downtown San Diego, the Coronado Bridge, and the bay. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast at their restaurant and both male servers were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations, and I would definitely stay here again

We love the Westgate!
Our stay here was epic! It’s a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, and we were treated like royalty by Meli and Omar at the front desk. They allowed for our special request and they were so sweet and kind while doing so. We come to San Diego frequently to visit my son and we’re going to stay here every time! Gracias!

Wonderful stay at the Westgate Hotel
Great stay at the Westgate hotel. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Love the pillows, Not rock hard like other hotels, made for a comfortable nights sleep.
