About the Hotel
The Westgate Hotel is located minutes away from the airport and the San Diego Convention Center, just steps from the trolley/train station, and is readily accessible by freeway. Within walking distance is the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Opera, the Symphony, Horton Plaza shops and Gaslamp Quarter energy. Designed as a re-creation of an anteroom in the Palace of Versailles, the Grand Lobby is noted for its magnificent antiques, Baccarat crystal chandeliers, Flemish and French tapestries and Persian carpets. The Westgate is considered a one-of-a-kind hotel. Completed in 1970, it was filled with a certain timeless elegance that is considered not to be readily found anywhere else in the San Diego, California area.

Historic flair in San Diego
This is a cute hotel with lots of historic flair. Sara C. was excellent and super efficient at the front desk. If you need anything, just ask her, she's responsive and professional. We had a large group checking in and she was the only one at reception who understood what needed to be done, and that made a huge difference. I would recommend asking for a room away from the trolley because it runs all night and it's not advisable for light sleepers.

Hotel is fabulous, staff too! Do not eat in Bonne Vie though
This hotel, the authentic decor yet refurbished and very comfortable rooms with good bed linnen and great towels has been a delight! The front desk staff is amazing, so useful and friendly. Valet parking works perfectly. Just their restaurant food was awful in Bonne Vie, but I sent my detailed review separately to tue F&B Manager. Highly recommend this hotel.

Weekend GetWay
Great room and excellent location! We got a King suite and it was huge. The shower was awesome, great water pressure. Joe checked us in early and gave a complete overview of the hotel and surrounding area.

Great hotel
The hotel is really pretty. Sophia at the front desk was super helpful in getting me a room at the last minute and made sure I was on the same floor as my family. Everyone on staff is so friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon and were met at the Registration desk by Joe. Joe was on his A+Game and a wealth of experience and knowledge of the history of the hotel and surrounding things to do.
