I had a mixed experience during my stay at the Hotel Majestic. Pros: Large room and bathroom, clean, and great value for the price. Beautiful historic building in a convenient central location. Continental breakfast was decent, though basic. Cons: The bed (mattress and linens) was very uncomfortable, and temperature control was a challenge. Heat is centrally controlled and the window AC unit didn’t work well, making the room too hot for good sleep. Breakfast could also use more variety—especially fruit and hot options like bacon or sausage. Overall: great space and location, but comfort—especially sleep quality—needs improvement.

The hotel is decorated to the period of construction with lavish style drapes etc . We had a most enjoyable stay with a comfortable room , complimentary breakfast and tea , coffee , water and biscuits for the taking in the foyer . The position was good for exploring and exercise as is in San Francisco. Most of all the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly being very accommodating to our requests . Special mention to Jay, Maria and Manoj !

Old hotel. Small rooms. Furniture dated. Reasonable price for location. Safe location for San Francisco. Only fair breakfast.

Character, history, warmth, friendly. Great location in a more residential area. Walking distance to Japan Town, Lafayette Park, Polk St. Classic San Francisco. "The Hotel Majestic was built in 1902 and has operated continuously since then, making it the oldest and longest‑operating hotel in San Francisco. " Keep that in mind if you start to think something isn't precisely as you expected or used to. Take in the decor and atmosphere. Every staff member I encountered so far has been fantastic.
