About the Hotel

Hotel Zelos San Francisco (formerly the Hotel Palomar) resides in the historic Pacific Building, which opened in 1907. The Pacific Building was originally built as office space, however, the 5th to 9th floors became the Hotel Palomar in 1999. Due to the original layout, the guestrooms are larger than the average hotel room in San Francisco.

Know what you are being charged and what you are paying for

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Be aware. If you book and pay for this hotel through a third party, in addition to the fees and taxes that a third party such as Priceline, Expedia, Tripadvisor or Booking.com charges, the hotel will also charge you $42/night in fees and taxes on top of the fees and taxes paid to the third party booking agent. For these fees, all you get is coffee or tea in the morning on the fifth floor, which runs out quickly and which staff may not be around to refill. I felt the hallways were underlit, but otherwise the hotel is in a prime location and I thought was nicely decorated as an upscale styled boutique hotel.

Thank you Jazmin at hotel Zelos front desk.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Dear Jazmin, First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to you at the front desk. Since we were a large group, I arrived one day earlier to arrange the check-in in advance, and I truly appreciate how efficiently and smoothly you handled everything. Thanks to your kind assistance, all of our guests were able to check in comfortably without any issues. The hotel’s location was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and clean, which made our entire group very satisfied. We also felt safe in the surrounding area and found many convenient facilities nearby, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, we will choose this hotel again next time. Friendly staff like you and the comfortable rooms made our stay truly pleasant. Greetings from Seoul, Mr. Intaek

Great

Very clean room, parking is safe! Separate garage from the public & always someone to help! Any questions you call hotel and they answer right away! Trader Joe’s right next door, amc theater across the street, bagel shops down the block and sports bars close by! What better location than that, you can also use trolley across the street or subway! So convenient!

We loved it!

The room was spacious, clean and stylish. The bathroom was immaculate (I'm a stickler for clean bathrooms). The service in the bar/restaurant was awesome as was the front desk staff. The location is perfect for getting anywhere in the city as its close to a cable car and major bus lines run right by. My partner noted that, although this is only 2 blocks from a hotel we had stayed at previously where we were uncomfortable leaving our car in the self parking, at Hotel Zelos he felt safe and wasn't worried about the neighborhood at all. Valet Parking even has a sofa in the garage for you to relax while the valet gets your car. Also, if you're staying for a bit, Trader Joe's is right next door. We'll be staying here again.

Excellent room, bed, pillows, and location. Hidden fees.

Excellent room, bed, pillows, and location. Like many hotels nowadays, the price is higher than you think due to hidden fees. In this case, an extra $35 per person.
