Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel

My wife and I just returned from three days stay at the Beacon Grand Hotel. We were greeted in the lobby by a warm and receiving staff who quickly took our information and provided our room information. This location is right in the midst of Union Square, and the hotel itself is rich with history and luxury everywhere you turn . There is a beautiful bar on the mezzanine, as well as a restaurant off to the side called ; the Post Room. The food and cocktails were delicious and the service again, outstanding. We took advantage of going up to the 21st floor, to the Starlight Lounge to have cocktails and enjoy the views . What an incredible experience! We were seated quickly and to a stunning view. Our server, Lori was so friendly and welcoming. We absolutely enjoyed her company and service she provided. The lounge itself is lush and beautifully decorated with deep rich, palette of colors and a cocktail menu to envy. Our room was a corner room with a stunning view of the city and Union Square below. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. We both slept so well every night here. We cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you to the entire staff for your hospitality. We can’t wait to return.!

Alex delivered my luggage to my room and was extremely kind. I didn’t have cash to give home for a tip and offered CashApp, Zelle or any other type of electronic payment for tip and he was adamant that a review was more valuable than the cash. So here it is!

My stay at the Beacon Grand was just exceptional, as always! I used to stay at this hotel when it was the Sir Francis Drake and always try to book here when I'm in the city. Upon arriving at the hotel, the bellman, Monica and Hannah were so welcoming and helped with making my birthday celebration very special. Leif has helped me so much over the years with new ideas for restaurants and places to visit. He is so knowledgeable about the city. Tony and the guys from the front helped with bags that l had stored. The room was so pretty with the renovations and it was absolutely spotless. A big thank you to housekeeping for taking care of the space. The illy coffee pods in the room were a nice touch along with the beautiful art. You also can't beat the location of this hotel! It's central to everything. There are so many great food and shopping options nearby, art galleries are around the corner, the trolley stops right in front of the hotel, the BART drops you off a few blocks down the street and the metro is everywhere. Thank you again to everyone at the Beacon Grand for such a memorable stay! Can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful hotel, wonderful rooftop bar, lovely breakfast. The location was perfectly situated right in the heat of Union Square. Jojit at the front desk was welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to visit SF in a prime location. Looking forward to my next stay here.

Alex and Angelo are the best and so helpful and nice! We had a great interaction with them every time! The hotel is clean and charming. So many beautiful details. The starlite bar is very cool too and was surprisingly bumping on a Thursday. Would definitely go back!
