I’ve stayed here multiple times, and it never disappoints. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The staff is fabulous, and the bar/food is really good. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. I paid a bit extra to have a room with an outdoor balcony and a water view; and it was amazing. The balcony had very nice furniture (not the standard plastic chairs but really good stuff), and a full view of the bay bridge. It was incredible. The room itself was nice too, with everything you need. The service was wonderful. I like the coffee shop in the lobby. It was a very good location --- one block from the transamerica building and 3 blocks from the ferry building. The only negative was that it is in downtown which is DEAD at night and when I woke up early, I was too scared to walk to the Starbucks 3 blocks away as a single woman. That said, I would stay here again, just recognizing that I can't leave the building at certain times for safety.

I used to stay at this property frequently when it was Le Meridien, and visited once when it was transitioning to The Jay. The transition is now complete, and what a transition! "Transformation" is more like it, because it's hard to find even the slightest vestige of the old property. Even the elevators operate differently (and seem to take longer than they used to). The room, including the bath, had been completely and tastefully renovated. We appreciated the light blanket in the closet because often hotel comforters can be too warm. Although we were frequently disturbed by a clunking noise throughout the night, possibly from the HVAC system, overall, it was a good stay.

The Jay is a great downtown location, the rooms are comfortable and elegant (and feel newly renovated), the coffee at the coffee bar was amazing and there was a really nice man working, and the bar/restaurant at night had a great energy. It’s honestly perfect for business travel but leisure on weekends would put you close to major SF attractions.

I love the Jay Hotel, it is my favorite Hotel in San Francisco. Love the location and the renovation was spot on. Unfortunately management needs some training in hospitality. Evening manager is not someone you can ask for any kind of help or share concern with, she is very dismissive and unwilling to help. Very rude tone and her manner is so unfriendly. Upper management should work on this and provide better training for her. Next morning i stopped by the Front Desk and the tall gentlemen was working and it was total opposite experience, he was listening and willing to help regarding my reservation and stay experience at the Hotel. He should be in management in my personal opinion. He was very busy and working alone but that didn't bother him to provide excellent service to each guest. Jay is my favorite Hotel, but i am having second thoughts in staying here again due to professionalism from the managers.
