This is our second stay at Ka’ana. Again, the grounds are immaculate, although the pool deck could have been swept off more often since it was so breezy. The food was spectacular, all employees helpful and friendly and quick to respond. Our bungalow was wonderful with its private plunge pool, which was clean and temperature refreshing and the jets were perfect on my tired feet after a day of hiking. Not a place I’d take with small children, but if you want a romantic get away this is perfect. Find excursions through Trip Advisor, you’ll get a great excursion at a much better price than booking through the resort.

I stayed with my husband a couple weeks ago for our wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time at Ka'Ana. The resort was beautiful and we felt at peace the entire time. We really enjoyed Ishmael who was our bartender for several nights at the Wallace Bar, he was extremely friendly and we loved getting to know him. We also did the ATM tour and the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins with our tour guide Andy who made the excursions absolutely amazing - he was also very knowledgeable on historical facts which we liked. Our room was very nice and it was cleaned twice a day including a turn down service where they left a delicious pastry each time!

This boutique resort is everything I hoped for and then some. The property is lush and impeccably maintained. Iguanas roaming freely, jungle vibes everywhere. It genuinely feels like you’re nestled in nature, not just next to it. But the service is what truly sets Ka’ana apart. We missed our flight and arrived a full day late, already stressed about losing precious vacation time. Our flight landed at 6:30 AM and we had a tour booked for 9:30, we came in hot. The staff was completely ready for us: paperwork, keys, a warm property tour, and when we mentioned we had to run, they packed us a to-go breakfast for the road. When we returned that afternoon, welcome drinks were waiting. They even noticed they hadn’t seen my daughter yet and personally brought a welcome drink to our room just for her. That detail alone won us over. Nearly every staff member knew our names by the end of the trip. The restaurant was wonderful, the complimentary breakfast included in our booking was genuinely good. It was fresh, healthy, and local. Egg whites, toast, and local fresh cut fruit. Don’t miss the stuffed fry jacks in the breakfast menu. The cocktail menu in the bar is creative and fun, don’t skip the drinks here! The pool area is quaint and never overcrowded, at least during our stay. Our room had an outdoor shower, which was such a lovely touch given the nature setting. One practical note: Ka’ana is close to San Ignacio town, and with a rental car we had zero issues getting around. Easy drives in for meals, errands, or just exploring. It’s a great base for the whole region. I would return to Ka’ana without hesitation. If you’re heading to San Ignacio, this is the place.

The hotel, housekeeping and excursions were excellent. They were very organized and provided us with a detailed itinerary every night for the following day. Happy hour every night was fun and Cruz made the best spicy margaritas! The Mayan cooking class was excellent with a ton of food. ATM tour was an amazing experience with Andy as our tour guide and the cave tubing with Eddy was great as well. Highly recommend Ka’ana!
