We feel incredibly lucky to have stayed at Ka’ana Resort. My family of four, with two teen boys, were very comfortable in the gorgeous 2 bedroom villa with plunge pool. The beds were heavenly, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff. From the welcoming front desk, the friendly and personable restaurant servers, all the drivers and tour guides, every single one made our stay more pleasant and memorable. And the food!! Do not miss the ceviche, johnny cakes, molletes, coffee - especially the buffet Maya Night where we got to make our own tortillas! I suggest a room with a private pool as the resort pool is small. Massages at the spa were fabulous! Perfect stay, thank you Ka’ana!!

Our only complaint about Ka'ana is that we wish we had more time there. It is simply paradise! We stayed in a pool villa in June 2025. The room was absolutely beautiful, and very well appointed. There was a minibar, which we did not use; I do wish the room had an additional small fridge and a small microwave for storing/heating leftovers from the dining room, as the food is absolutely amazing and the portions are hearty! The grounds are gorgeous, as are all of the buildings. And the staff -- I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the people who pour their heart and soul into this resort. From Ethan and Nobia at the desk, to Victor and Loretta in the dining room, to the manager, the chef, maintenance staff, the groundspersons, and the tour guides and drivers -- the absolute kindness and genuinely nice personalities of those with whom we interacted cannot be graded on a scale. We have never been to a country where we were treated with such hospitality. Also, any need or desire we had was immediately attended to via a WhatsApp request, whether it be ice for the room, or room service, or when our bags were ready. We would go back tomorrow if we could! We did the half day cave tubing tour and the full day Tikal tour. Both are stellar! Both require a fair amount of walking, and Tikal is best if one can climb the many stairs of the temples. We had Edmund as our cave tubing guide, Brandon as our Tikal guide, and Yaser as our driver to the airport, and all became friends during the short time we spent with them. They take their responsibilities very seriously, and their knowledge of and willingness to share the culture and history and landscape of Belize shines through in the best way.

The hotel was very nice. I think they charge luxury prices and I dont know if I would consider it luxry though. however, what they do offer a unique feel jungle feel which make it an exotic destination. The staff was amazing. Best of all three hotels that we stayed at in Belize. the welcome to the property was amazing. The food was very good and lots to choose from, 2 thumbs up to the chef. We loved the iguanas living under the sidewalks. We loved all the wildlife around the property. We loved all the exotic trees. We really appreciated that they have their own garden and grow much of the vegetables they use in the restaurant on site. I have to say it again, the staff was amazing. Of the 3 hotels we stayed at this trip, this is the hotel that I would return to. i just dont know about the luxury classification. I would put them more into an exotic or unique destinations category.

Gorgeous resort and wonderful staff. The food was delicious with a lot of the produce grown right on site! My room had a netted patio with a hammock that was perfect for naps or birdwatching. Would come back!

Unfortunately our experience at Ka’Ana did not meet expectations in the slightest. First thing I noticed in our Casita Suite was a gaping hole in the patio door (which they did end up fixing). The patio had no loungers, hammock or other place to sit as depicted in the photos I had reviewed. Below there was a tub, but it was very dirty upon arrival with leaves and ants (and was never cleaned) so we didn’t use it. Below, next to the tub there was one filthy, dirty chair. The outside area is mostly dirt and the stones that lead from the outdoor shower to the stairs up to our room were also dirty so we didn’t use the outdoor shower as our feet would have been dirty. We were immediately told they would provide coffee at first, but any refills would be at our cost. The included breakfast includes only a few items that aren’t sufficient to prepare for a day of activities. This cheapened the whole experience and certainly didn’t feel “luxury”. We went to the pool and immediately noticed there were no towels. My husband notified staff, but they never arrived during the time we spent there. The pool shower was literally covered in leaves and was never cleaned during our stay. The food was mediocre and very expensive for what it was. There are very few kids options. We ate out a lot and it was really good and inexpensive in town. The wine list is expensive and not good. The wines by the glass were undrinkable and extremely expensive. Cocktails were tiny, weak and sweet. You’d get a different glass every time and they seemed to get smaller and smaller, never filled to the top. We only did this during happy hour because of this. At one point we went to the front desk to ask for a taxi to town. They all looked at me like I had 3 heads and said their only taxi was already reserved. We finally worked it out and got the name of a local driver to deal with our own transportation the remainder of the trip. Their excursions are double what we paid using a rental car and going on our own. Lastly, it was our 10 year anniversary. We noted this on the intake forms where they asked if we were celebrating anything, yet they never did anything special for us, let alone mention it. The staff is 10 out of 10. Kind, helpful and did all they could. We heard from two separate locals that management has changed and the place has gone downhill. Wish I had known that before we booked here to celebrate this milestone.
