The staff, restaurant and bartenders are all great. If I was just rating them, it would be a solid 5. It's the "resort"... It's hardly a resort, the rooms are average and sparsely furnished, the pool is very small and there isn't any type of entertainment options except the restaurant or the bar. They are located about a 10-minute drive from town, so it isn't walkable, but it is easy to get a ride for $10 USD each way...it feels isolated there. More like a roadside place to stop for the night versus a resort. For the money, there are other places in town that will give you a better value and be more enjoyable.

From the moment we entered the resort, we were warmly greeted by the guard on duty. Thank you for the warm welcome. He knew my family / friends was coming that day. We were a party of 10 - 6 adults and 4 kids. Front Desk Staff - Joseph, Christian, Ethan , Taheene, Nubia Thank you so much for making our stay so incredibly memorable. We truly felt like family during our time with you, and we especially appreciated all the thoughtful little things you did. I’d put it in this review but then it’d take the experience away from future guests. Drivers - thanks for safely taking us into town and back to the resort. Our conversations in the van were great and your sharing of Belize culture was appreciated. Joseph, a special thank you for taking the time to plan our days with us. Your suggestions were fantastic and truly enhanced our trip! We also enjoyed learning about the local cultures with you. Ismael, we also want to extend our sincere gratitude for accommodating us at the bar each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with you. We want to wish your daughter a Happy Birthday today. To the wonderful restaurant staff, Restaurant - Loretta, Freddy, Joshua, Victor, Jaqueline Thank you for creating such a welcoming environment every single day. Accommodating to every need for our family. Especially thanks to the entire staff for making the little 4 year olds birthday memorable. Ivan, you have a great team on your hands. We hope to see you all again soon!

Ka'ana Resort was one of the most delightful places we have ever stayed. Yes the resort is beautiful and the rooms are superb, but the staff is truly amazing. Every one of them was excited about their resort, concerned about the welfare of their guests and eager to share their love for their resort, their country and its wonders. My wife was a bit ill while there from a cold she picked up before we traveled to Belize and the staff were so attentive and proactive, making her as comfortable as possible and speeding her recovery Our room was an elegant, beautifully appointed private condo with a plunge pool in a private garden with outdoor shower. The grounds and gardens are amazing and the food was great. We enjoyed an outdoor BBQ one evening that was delicious. Our waiter, Freddie, was truly a wonderful human being and a delight to be with. We used tour services provided by the hotel. One expedition was to the amazing Tikal ruins in Guatemala with Brandon and another was the tour of ATM cave with Andee. Both sites and guides were superb and the lunches were awesome. A special shout out to Andee for the ATM tour. We are in our late 60's and ATM is a physically challenging tour. Andee made sure my wife was very well cared for, felt safe and really enjoyed the unique wonders of the cave.

This is a beautiful resort. The rooms, pools, and restaurant are all lovely. The staff is super friendly. The included breakfast was wonderful. However, the bed was very uncomfortable. Expedia says it has memory foam beds - not even close. Thin coiled mattress.

While there, I learned that Ka'ana means "heavenly place" in the ancient Maya language. And that is exactly how I would describe this resort. It was so beautifully tranquil. My two children and I took a private traditional Mayan cooking class where we made chicken tamales. the next day we also went horseback riding to Xunantunich, a nearby ancient Mayan ruin. The resort's front desk staff arranged all of our excursions. It was effortless. I can't recommend this resort enough!
