Outside the historic colonial city of San Jose del Cabo, on the tip of Mexicoâ€(TM)s Baja Peninsula, Barcelo Los Cabos is a tranquil paradise. Tropical gardens and giant desert cacti surround the guestrooms and suites that offer a pleasing blend of Mediterranean and Mexican details. From the welcoming Chula Vista restaurant, to the freeform, sandstone poolâ€"where the sound of waterfalls mingles with the distant thunder of the Sea of Cortezâ€"a soothing atmosphere pervades this inviting property.

Alejandro was playing amazing music and it gave the pools such a great vibe. Makes a huge difference when the music is great. I dont want to be in Mexico and hear crappy American classic rock. Yay Alejandro!! So friendly too!

We had an excellent stay at GR Solaris Lighthouse. The hotel and amenities were very good, but the staff were even better! Courteous and friendly, always greeting us with a smile and asking if we needed anything. We were lucky enough to have Jesus Velazquez as a server more than once, who kept our drinks filled. My biggest compliment goes to the food, it was all delicious, especially the lunch à la carte’s. Some amazing tacos, tostadas, and quesadillas. We took a couple walks into town (25 minutes), once for the Art Walk on Thursday evening, which is worth checking out. We felt pretty safe walking back at night. An overall great experience, we would absolutely come back!

Stayed for 5 days in May. Breakfast is good. Eggs to order and waitstaff is top notch. Lunch by pool, burgers, hotdogs or pizza is good in a pinch. Buffet Lunch is good. When we stayed hotel was not too full, so no issues with chairs by pools. The Italian restaurant was ok. You do have to make reservations for the Italian and Mexican order off the menu restaurants. Buffets were different nightly. They did a special Cinco de Mayo presentation and dinner. One night they had a live classical music show. Can walk on beach, but not swim it due to rough waters. This is in San Jose, so quieter end of Cabos. To go to San Lucas taxi is $50 one way.

The staff is wonderful and so welcoming. We had great service from everyone. We especially enjoyed getting coffee from Yesica in Starbucks each morning. We got great poolside service from Maytor and Luis. The entertainment staff is wonderful and engaging. It’s been another great stay (our third).
