About the Hotel

Nestled into the sand dunes along Mexico’s dramatic San José del Cabo coastline, a place of mystery and magic unfolds. One where fire is the catalyst for bold flavors; heat and sound are healers; the sea is a place of adventure and discovery; whims are anticipated and fulfilled; and your place of rest is a gallery of Mexican artistry. Along gently sloping dunes overlooking the Sea of Cortés in San José del Cabo, luxury suites and villas reflect the land and those who sprung from it. Here, nature is invited within and resort guests encouraged to venture out: sliding glass doors replace traditional walls, terraces are an extension of home, with private plunge pools providing tranquility and the opportunity to take in fresh air. Throughout, luxury villas, art, textiles and decorative objects from Mexican artists showcase the tradition and talent found in Cabo and beyond.

Our resort stay got off to a disastrous start. The first day's transportation didn't arrive as promised, forcing us to walk to our dinner reservation. The second day brought more frustration, with housekeeping ignoring our specified room service hours and the Tosoani staff pushing for an earlier breakfast time. The evening was marred by a screaming child next door, which put a damper on our anniversary celebration. I'm extremely frustrated with my stay at this resort and I'm eager to check out.

Zadun - Outstanding

We just returned from an unforgettable stay at Zadún, and I’m already missing it. If you're on the fence, go. We stayed in a king, high floor, w/ pool. Our room was flawless — beautifully designed and perfectly maintained, it exceeded every expectation. Stephanie and Genesis, our butlers, were exceptional from start to finish. Thoughtful touches like a surprise drawn bath on our anniversary made us feel truly seen and cared for. Service throughout the resort was impeccable, especially poolside. Always a cocktail in hand and not another soul on the beach at 3pm — it felt like our own private paradise. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was Candil, which I can confidently say is the best hotel cocktail bars — anywhere in the world. David welcomed us on our first night with contagious energy and deep knowledge that elevated every drink. We came back daily and eventually booked a cocktail class with Pedro, who was phenomenal. His passion, storytelling, and expertise made it one of the most memorable parts of our entire trip. We’ve already ordered supplies to recreate the Candil magic at home — Pedro’s influence will be felt in our bar cart for years to come. We also had an amazing dinner at Humo, where Roberto (Jesus) and Giuseppe took excellent care of us. Giuseppe even remembered a dish we mentioned a few days prior and had it ready without needing a reminder — that kind of attentiveness is rare and made the experience feel personal and seamless. Zadún has earned our loyalty. Even if getting to Cabo isn’t always easy for us, we’ll find a way to return.

Keep your expensive items in the suitcase of just leave them at home

I once again got my Louis Vuitton scarf STOLEN!! It’s crazy as this is the 2nd time I have had a LV scarf stolen in Los Cabos at a Marriott property. The first time was Solaz and now Zadún. I am in disbelief!! I believe the scarf is easy because they stuff it somewhere and even though they get searched it’s easy to hide. BEWARE at these prices Zadun has to do better and know the people entering your room are likely looking to swipe your stuff. Wow just wow!!!

Lovely offseason stay

Just wrapping up a 3 night low season trip. First time here. My thoughts/impressions first the background: booked ocean view room through AMEX FHR which included $400 resort credit which stacks with my $150 ambassador credit (only used for spa and food) originally had this booked in July, but a broken wrist lead to a need to reschedule for late September. about a month before arrival staff began reaching out (itinerary, airport transport, reservations etc). Transport from the airport was efficient and comfortable (suburban) Welcome drink at check in as well as a brief explanation of FHR benefits (the credit and breakfast at one coffee one juice one entree) confirmed i could use breakfast benefit on room service. Rest of checkin was done by our Tosani “butler” in the room. We were upgraded more than one room level to an oceanfront upper plunge pool. (Retailed at 2800 a night where our original room was around 1000). Room: Stunning( have a video but it won’t upload) in room was an array of cheese meat fruit and nuts as well as a bottle of champagne I had ordered as a treat for my wife. Food: the beach front restaurant (and lower adults pool) is closed due to storm damage and was activley being rebuilt. As such they have a raw plus tacos running out of a makeshift area on Tuesday nights. Single tacos were 10 dollars and were okay. The drinks from Candil (the fancy bar) were delicious and resort priced at about 25 dollars. We enjoyed our maki rolls as well Breakfast at Barrio was delicious and accommodating. Pool lunch: lunch tacos were better than the dinner and delicious. The breaded Baja shrimp were the best I’ve ever had. We ate off site (Flora Farms and Sage) our other two night and I highly recommend both. Worth the 20 dollar cab ride. Gym: nice facility, however it was not serviced in the AM (we checked it out the night before) no cold towels or waters had been restocked. Trash from the night before was still out. Service: asides from the intricate (eg very long)check in with our Tosani in our room, service has been friendly and elegantly restrained. Much better than most Cabo 4/5 star resorts. 100% would return (in fact we have booked a return for 2025.

Quiet, Unmatched Service and Superior Quality at Zadun in San Jose del Cabo!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Once again the ladies and gentlemen of the Ritz Carlton didn’t disappoint. This was our first stay at a Reserve and it was wonderful. Our main butler was Genesis and I can’t say enough about her attentiveness, caring and responsiveness. She went above and beyond. Everyone we met along the way was friendly and provided superior service. We visited El Barrio, Humo and used in-room dining. Great food at all places. The pool staff was also fantastic. Our room and our housekeeping staff were of superior quality. I highly recommend the quaint, quiet aspects of the Reserve and San Jose del Cabo if you’re looking to relax and not worry about anything. They made every attempt to tailor the vacation to us without requiring us to do much of anything other than tell them what we wanted to experience.
