We went to the Zadún May 2024 and had a great experience. Our room had some incredible ocean views even with the ‘partial ocean view’ package we booked. All the restaurants on site were very good (although expensive). Carlos our room butler was great all week ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay.

This was our first time in Cabo - we picked Zadun based on reviews. This was a family trip with our daughter (17) for my wife’s 50th birthday. The guest experience team - pre-arrival - was amazing. Isela answered my numerous questions always same day or the following, assisted in booking our airport transportation and did all that in such a friendly warm manner. Airport pick-up was seamless (just make sure to not get sucked in by people trying to get you to book a taxi or a tour while still in the airport). We waited about 5 min for the car to arrive since they can’t wait at the airport. Driver is super friendly and made us just feel relaxed for the 35 min drive. Upon arrival, Gabriel our butler was waiting for us and guided us through the check-in process which doesn’t feel like a check-in it is so well managed. We had a wonderful surprise to be upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which was just stunning. Gabriel was always a text away. We had 90% of our meals on property and the food from breakfast through dinner was just exceptional. Yes - it was expensive however completely worth it and the service was exceptional. Donaldo was our waiter for a few of our meals and he was just awesome - so friendly, smiling, always ready to please. Adan - another waiter was also awesome. Ariadna was our second butler for the weekend - and let’s just say she was exceptional. She truly delivered an exceptional guest experience that I never experienced before and I stayed a multiple St. Regis (including in bora bora) and mandarin orientals. The property in itself is amazing, the pools are awesome, the fitness center and its huge lap pool outstanding. Never felt crowded at all. ADVICE: so we had a ground floor ocean view room - the problem is that the way they are designed - if you are seated at the firepit, in the outdoor chairs etc….you don’t see the ocean. Once you stand up you do. So if you want an ocean view - you should select an upper floor room…you will though give up some extra outdoor space and outdoor shower (quite awesome). Overall - this property is just perfect / the guest experience is simply exceptional. Well done Zadun team.

Our second visit at this place. Returned to this place for one main reson, their Peruvian Ceviche from Equis, thanks to Erika for making probably about 6 of those orders. Our kids loved it too. So good. Recommend the Huevos Rancheros at el Barrio. Was nice to see Laura again, she is always very welcoming. Pedro will make you delicious moreritas at Candil. Delicious.

We read multiple reviews that mentioned subpar service at Zadun, but decided to stay because of our loyalty to Marriott. We’ve never had an unsatisfactory stay at a Ritz Carlton, so surely we figured the reviews were exaggerated, given this was a Reserve property. While the property grounds are beautiful, the negative reviews we read were unfortunately spot on. If your service expectations align with a Courtyard or Fairfield, you’ll be satisfied. But if you’re expecting top tier service, to go along with the top tier prices, you’ll likely leave extremely disappointed. Worse yet, if you have any issues arise during your stay, as we did, you’ll likely leave disgruntled and questioning your loyalty to the brand.

Like fine wine, Zadun just keeps getting better. We have stayed here all four years they have been open and love it more each year. Why? The restaurants have all improved immensely. Humo is now one of the best and the chef has perfected the wood-burning oven and amazing French Fries. El Barrio now offers themed dinners on most evenings and X features two weekly events that offer the freshest seafood and fish. More importantly, the staff is well focused on exceeding expectations. This has become even more important because so many properties charging high rates fail in this category. Service is amazing at the spa, restaurants, and gym. The beauty of the Zadun theme through natural vegetation has been enhanced now everything has had four years to grow so the resort is even more beautiful. And they respect both families and adults here as both spaces are far different. Overall, Cabo has more Forbes 5-Star properties than anywhere else in the world with the exception of Dubai and Macao so the competition is fierce. And unlike some resorts like Montage and Four Seasons, they charge decent prices for their accommodations and restaurants and include RT transfers, a huge plus. We will be back!
