Nestled into the sand dunes along Mexico’s dramatic San José del Cabo coastline, a place of mystery and magic unfolds. One where fire is the catalyst for bold flavors; heat and sound are healers; the sea is a place of adventure and discovery; whims are anticipated and fulfilled; and your place of rest is a gallery of Mexican artistry. Along gently sloping dunes overlooking the Sea of Cortés in San José del Cabo, luxury suites and villas reflect the land and those who sprung from it. Here, nature is invited within and resort guests encouraged to venture out: sliding glass doors replace traditional walls, terraces are an extension of home, with private plunge pools providing tranquility and the opportunity to take in fresh air. Throughout, luxury villas, art, textiles and decorative objects from Mexican artists showcase the tradition and talent found in Cabo and beyond.

Our family’s wedding was rescheduled due to weather when the venue was flooded. The night before the wedding, the welcome party was held at Zadun and was the equivalent of two weddings as far as expenditure. Not to mention all the rooms and suites that were booked by various members of the wedding party. To salvage the night of the cancelled wedding, some additional family members (approximately 20 people) went to join the family at Zadun. Security (at the command of management) would not allow them in at 6:30 pm at night despite the bride and groom requesting that security allow them in. It’s outrageous that this hotel would not allow it. You would think they would have some compassion for the bride and groom after the terribly disappointing day. They claimed there were too many people in their suite but we would have moved to the hotel bar. Their complete lack of cooperation was just unconscionable. For a special event, pick one of the boutique hotels—not a chain—they will treat you much better and not try to extort you for more!

AWFUL! TERRIBLE! BAD customer service! Wedding canceled because of weather (they can’t handle rain) and they wouldn’t let any guests in!! Imagine the money spent on a wedding, people crying, fortunes spent, and not letting guests in to ease the pain! Awful place. Trying to shake out every dollar in exchange. Go literally anywhere else!

First time to the area and was blown away by everything--the ambiance, the charm and beauty of the resort, the secluded beach where we watched our footsteps being erased by the constant surf. But more than anything, the staff at the resort are phenomenal. Every interaction was warm and engaging. From personal butler service to our wine sommelier at the beach, it was impeccable. Our room, 564, came with an amazing outdoor shower and wonderful patio with pool. Zadun matched the glowing reviews we had read, but know what you are getting. This is not the party scene at Cabo San Lucas. It is much much better!

We were inadvertently diverted due to a hurricane in the Caribbean to San Jose Delano and Zadun. It was the best diversion we could’ve hoped for. First and foremost the staff - amazing, friendly, thoughtful. Everyone was outstanding. Next the locale - serene, beautiful, singular. Our room had an expansive view of the sea of coretez and yes, in Oct/Nov we saw whales from our room. Last but not least, the food, spa and service - rivals anywhere in the world. If you’re thinking of vacationing in Cabo, Zadun outside of San Jose Del Cabo is second to none.

We booked last minute after deciding to change vacation plans, and we have never been to Cabo before. We had a lovely stay. While quite expensive, the cost seems on par with other premium resorts in the area. In exchange we had a very large room, oceanfront, with modern plugs and amenities. The room was very clean, and the bedding was heavenly. The best part was hearing the ocean waves all night long. Service was on point, with the pool staff and the dinner restaurant staff standing out, as well as our host, Jorge. We loved that there was both a large family pool, and a lovely adult pool. Meaning we could relax. Dinner was some of the best seafood we have had…ever. All outlets had a strong cocktail game. I would’ve liked to have seen more Mexican wines featured. We really just came here to relax and decompress, which was accomplished. We didn’t go off property. I had a massage at the spa. It was okay but the pricing was outrageous and I cancelled a second appointment. The spa menu doesn’t show gratuity (expected) or tax. The two add 30% to the bill. We just really enjoyed the adult pool, our massive room with plunge pool, the sound of the ocean, and our amazing dinners/cocktails. We only had 2 issues: we had a roach invade the room each night of our stay (reported in other reviews but probably endemic to the climate), and on checkout, the bellman never arrived so my dear husband dragged our luggage uphill to checkout. Otherwise we had a lovely stay, and plan to come back.
