Nestled into the sand dunes along Mexico’s dramatic San José del Cabo coastline, a place of mystery and magic unfolds. One where fire is the catalyst for bold flavors; heat and sound are healers; the sea is a place of adventure and discovery; whims are anticipated and fulfilled; and your place of rest is a gallery of Mexican artistry. Along gently sloping dunes overlooking the Sea of Cortés in San José del Cabo, luxury suites and villas reflect the land and those who sprung from it. Here, nature is invited within and resort guests encouraged to venture out: sliding glass doors replace traditional walls, terraces are an extension of home, with private plunge pools providing tranquility and the opportunity to take in fresh air. Throughout, luxury villas, art, textiles and decorative objects from Mexican artists showcase the tradition and talent found in Cabo and beyond.

Our family of five, including three teenagers, had a wonderful 4-day stay at the Ritz-Carlton Zadún in Los Cabos. Beautiful hotel, phenomenal rooms with plunge pools and stunning views, excellent food and service, and outstanding spa and golf facilities. The staff also did a terrific job arranging a beach birthday celebration for our friends’ son, which was a very special touch. The quesadillas at the golf course were fantastic. The only downside was that the beach had red flag conditions during our stay, so the water was not usable. Still, it was a very relaxing trip, and we would definitely return.

This hotel is a sorry excuse for "luxury" service. The Four Seasons Las Palmas is fantastic, and doesn't have the issues with customer service that they have at Zadun. The standout at this property was the absolute lack of customer service (almost an attitude of disdain for my complaint about my stay) that I received when bringing a legitimate complaint to the attention of Marriott. Our room (2nd floor, ocean view, with plunge pool on the terrace) was located at the far end of the resort, right next to a massive construction site on the next property. We arrived on Saturday, and the construction site was not being worked on; it was also not being worked on Sunday. On Monday morning, we awoke to the VERY loud sounds of construction. It was so bothersome that we had to leave our room and go to the hotel pool rather than stay and use the pool on our terrace. The last day we were there was Tuesday. I wanted to remain at the room so that our five year old could swim while I got some work done and finished packing. The construction noise was so loud, I could not enjoy the terrace. It was awful, and far from relaxing (which for me, is the point of choosing a peaceful and serene vacation spot). I called Marriott and was SHOCKED by the response of their representative. She was rude and dismissive overall, and in addition, she told me that I should have asked to move rooms immediately upon checking in AND that I had been told when I booked that room about the construction, as that is their policy. I told her I had definitely NOT been informed, as I would have not booked the room and would have chosen to book elsewhere. She did not believe me. She dismissed me and said I was not correct. My husband was on the booking call with me and I checked with him and he said we were most definitely NOT informed when booking. Upon checking out, I brought the issue up to the manager. He said "well, there is nothing that can be done about construction." He not only didn't show any empathy for my issue, he smirked while saying this as if it was funny that I was bothered by this. I told him that I understood that nothing could be done, but I should have been informed when booking. He said, "well, if there is nothing else I can do for you, we'll see you next time." I told him that the Marriott agent on the phone said I should have asked to move rooms right away upon checking in and, in light of that suggestion, did they have the same room (with the pool on the terrace and the full ocean view) available during my stay. He said no, those were all booked. So I would not have been able to move rooms as had been suggested, even if I had asked. I will absolutely never stay at a Ritz Carlton property again. If you're reading this, The Four Seasons is the way to go. We have never been disappointed.

Recently went here for a family vacation and could not have been more disappointed. I’ve stayed at nearly every resort in Cabo, and Zadun was by far the biggest letdown. I’ve seen numerous reviews praising the service, but we had the exact opposite experience. I’ll say the property and rooms are beautiful, but no better than Chileno Bay, Esperanza, Las Ventanas, or the One & Only. Our butler was great, but didn’t really add much to the “Reserve” experience. My biggest gripe is the pool service. Every other ultra-luxury resort anticipates your every need — I can’t tell you how many times we had to flag down waiters just to order drinks. That may sound trivial, but there were times we ordered and the food or drinks never came out. Other times, we simply couldn’t find anyone to take our order. To give you an idea of what we were dealing with: we ordered a plain cheeseburger for my son — no lettuce, no tomato, no onion. It came out with everything on it. When we sent it back, they returned ten minutes later with the same burger. They had simply wiped off the condiments and toppings. Even McDonald’s doesn’t do that. At a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, that’s inexcusable. The food and drinks themselves were nothing spectacular either, and you’re paying top dollar. Overall, we left feeling like the Ritz-Carlton Reserve name is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. The service we received was no different from what you’d get at a Hilton at a quarter of the price. At this tier, you’re not just paying for a nice room — you’re paying for flawless execution, and Zadun simply didn’t deliver. We won’t be returning.

We couldn't ask for a better family vacation. This is our 3rd year in a row of going to Zadun on spring break as it never dissapoints. The location, rooms, etc are stunning but like any 5 star resort its the people who make the difference. Butlers (Tosanis) Carlos and Andres go above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Constantly checking in to offer assistance with anything. Outstanding in every way that you can ask for to make the most of your trip. This was our second time having Carlos as the hotel is great about matching you up with a Tosani from a previous stay. We hope to get matched up again next year. Pedro at Candil Bar is the best you could ask for. He remembered our kids names when we walked in, despite it being a year since our last visit. He was so nice and engaging with the kids throughout our time having a drink before dinner. Our son and Pedro bonded strongly over their love of Pokemon. Pedro was nice enough to lead me through an informative mezcal tasting as his knowledge of tequila and mezcal is vast. The Ambassdors of the Environment (Kids Club) staff do an incredible job as our kids were chomping at the bit to go to the club at 9am opening. And we had to pry them out of there after noon to come get lunch with us at the pool! Alejandra, Carmen, Linda, and Jair (spelling?) all were incredible and our kids were nearly in tears saying goodbye. Our ride to the airport to fly home was highlighted by Daniel, the self proclaimed best driver in Los Cabos. He was friendly and engaging and left us with many great ideas of places to visit on our next trip. The property is beyond gorgeous and the rooms have an excellent indoor/outdoor feel which is great when traveling with kids as it allows Mom and Dad to have a seperate space outside to hang out in while the kids wind down at night. Last but not least the location of the property stands out to us. We love the vibe and culture of downtown San Jose Del Cabo as it feels much more authentic vs Cabo San Lucas. Zadun is a short Uber from getting dinner on a cobblestone street or also an easy ride to Flora Farms.
