Loved El Convento and Old San Juan
My wife and I spent five wonderful nights at El Convento. Great coffee every morning served by the third floor terrace. Wine and cheese every evening. And a wonderful bonus of bottled water in your room and on the terrace. The staff were friendly and gracious. Beautiful room. The location was perfect.Our day trip trip to Isla Verde Beach, perfect. Old San Juan was amazing. Loved it. Suggest strongly a walking tour. So much history. Tour the fort closest to the hotel. There is no need to do the fort further away. Unless you truly enjoy touring distilleries, you can skip Baccardi. I would recommend Kaffee House for breakfast/ brunch. Carli's was an outstanding dinner.$$$ And Baris near the hotel was great. La Factoria was a great dive cocktail bar. Best Old Fashioned ever. Loved El Convento and Old San Juan... You will also.

Nispero service-Juliana
The staff at the hotel is great. In particular we would like to recognize Juliana’s service and care of us. Every time we visited the Nispero restaurant she greeted us with a smile and familial friendliness. Her service is something that needs to be highlighted as a great way to start the day. She had great suggestions for my restricted diet. Always a pleasure dealing with her. Thank you, Juliana & see you next time.

Hotel El Convento is a beautiful botique hotel right in the middle of Viejo San Juan. We loved every minute of it. Our server Juan L has been serving us breakfast consistently and he’s so awesome and attentive. We just love him!

Amazing First Stay in San Juan
My wife and I stayed at Hotel El Convento for her birthday the first week of April 2026. It was our first stay in San Juan. We very much appreciated staying at such a historic location and experiencing Viejo San Juan. The hotel's restaurant, Patio del Níspero, was amazing. The entire staff went above and beyond for us (special shoutout to Juan L. for his exceptional service). We highly recommend El Convento if you have never been to San Juan for your stay, but also if you are in the area, please check it out. It has a rich history and is worth the visit.

All Around Perfection
The views were amazing, the staff was all super helpful and the location was perfect. I was happy with the room, the size was good and it had a desk which was needed and used. Even though there were weddings happening basically every night, they were not intrusive. I couldn't hear them at all in my room, and the live music they brought in actually gave a great ambiance to the lobby area.
