Rosewood San Miguel de Allende Staying at Rosewood San Miguel de Allende felt like stepping into another era—one where politeness is instinctive, quietness is respected, and art, history, and beauty are woven into daily life. There’s a subtle European sensibility here, blended seamlessly with the soul of San Miguel. The experience is deeply sensory. Drinks were superbly crafted, breakfast consistently delicious, and their baked goods—truly divine. Every morning felt intentional, unhurried, and indulgent in the best way. Yes the baked goods deserve special mention—especially the croissants, which were truly fantastic: buttery, flaky, and perfectly baked. They alone are worth waking up early for. So enjoyed the Pan de Muertos cart edition! The gardens whisper calmness. They hold a rare kind of peace—serene, grounding, and almost meditative. It’s the kind of place where time slows without asking permission. They create a tranquil escape from the energy of the city while still being perfectly located near the historic center. Walking through them daily felt grounding and restorative. Then there’s the rooftop. The views, the sunsets—absolutely breathtaking. Watching the sun dip behind the city’s timeless silhouette captured my heart completely. We stayed for a full week, yet it felt far too short. Honestly, staying thirty days straight would be a dream—one of those places you never want to leave. Much like the song says… you can never leave. I’m genuinely curious if there’s a better stay in San Miguel de Allende. For now, Rosewood sets a standard that’s hard to imagine surpassing.

Beautiful property by the park. Away from the bustle of centro but less than a 10 minute walk to everything. The only issue is that the food and beverage staff seems mostly uninterested. Spent an afternoon at the pool and had to chase someone down to place a drink order. Brunch was a huge disappointment. Tons of options but no attention to detail. Cheese plate was prepared days in advance as all the cheese was dried out. Fruit and juice were beyond sub par. Flavorless and not ripe. San Miguel is a Mecca for incredible produce and they missed the mark here. We asked for an $19 glass of champagne 2 times before getting it. Funny to have to almost beg them to take your money. The gentlemen in the tequila bar though are wonderful. They regale you with stories about tequila and mezcal. Truly enjoyed spending 3 evenings with them as we wrapped up each night.

We had a delightful dinner at the Bastardos on Hildago with our family of 6! The kids enjoyed the playground while the adults enjoyed cocktails. Such a beautiful evening with great cocktails, food, and atmosphere! The roasted, half- chicken was delicious!

Imagine booking 5-star hotel with the reputation of the Rosewood and have them ignore and lie to you and not create a solution -nor apologize. Our experience with them came in the form of ignored emails for A question that should have been easily answered, yet there was no communication for 5 days. With sending follow-ups emails. We sent the same question to varies other hotels and companies and none of them took over 2 hours (max) some as little as 20 mins to respond to the very same question the Rosewood ignored. Unfortunately, our experience got worse as we tried giving them a call in which we were lied to saying that they had already responded and promptly hanging up. For me, this was inexcusable. It was then the next day they answered our email proving that they had lied to us and didn't get back to us until that moment. They did not see any issues with the timelines nor the lying. No compensation/gesture of goodwill was offered until prompted but even that gesture (which required more money) wasn't commensurate. We ended up cancelling out reservation with them entirely. (didn't apologize in that email) I'll quote the manger here: "we take pride in delivering unparalleled service, creating extraordinary experiences, and setting the benchmark for luxury hospitality in the region,” said Guillermo Varela, Managing Director of Rosewood San Miguel de Allende."This this not what we experienced. It wasn't handled professionally or well. I could think of a million ways this could have been handled differently and at every turn, in our opinion, it got worse. I just have to believe higher up management wasn't involved or consulted. Truly put a bad taste in our mouths for our 10th anniversary trip. Luckily, we stayed and told their competitor about our experience with them and they offered us a free spa experience for the both of us! Unfortunately, we will still tie this awful experience in with our anniversary and our trip to San Miguel. Hopefully you won't experience this yourself. As this involved multiple people, this review is to call out the team and have them be accountable in some way because as it turned out, they weren't to us. We are still shocked at the service as we have never experienced this before and no longer put any stock into the Rosewood brand.

We drove to san miguel my wife looked it up this hotel and they told her 2600 but did not state dlls or pesos we thought is was pesos because so we are in mexico so we booked it next day may card got charged 2600 dlls for a night and the worst thing in the night we had a bit of hot water and in the morning no running hot water, this this price is too excessive for not having running hot water and spoke to gerente but she said she could only give me a 20% discount for not having running hot water, so just make sure they specify dlls or pesos we are in mexico and they are charging in dlls
