Very pretty hotel setting but the rooms and bathrooms are in need of an update. I get that it’s suppose to feel like an authentic villa from “the old days” but for the price, I want to feel like I’m in a hotel with amenities of the modern world. The main reason I am giving this hotel 3 stars is because of the bar manager, Paula. She is extremely rude and needs a course in hospitality. Our issue with her was ultimately resolved by someone very senior to her, so we are thankful to Rosewood for the swift resolution; however, Paula should find another line of work that does not involve customer service. The daily breakfast is delicious, the gym and spa were both very nice, and the general attitude by the employees (other than Paula) was pleasant and polite. Beware: fireworks happen DAILY between 6-7a in the town. There are ear plugs by the bedside which we used but it’s not possible to drown out the noise completely. This is an issue with the town, not the hotel.

Stunning hotel which is centrally located in the heart of San Miguel. Gorgeous rooftop bar/restaurant with beautiful views of the city. Totally enjoyed our dinning experience here. Great service, wine and cocktail list but fell short on the veggie options on the menu which was a disappointment for me. The garden kitchen restaurant on the property was outstanding. Lovely views, bar, menu and service. I was there celebrating my milestone birthday and every time we checked in at hotel restaurant they would ask if I was celebrating something special and I would say my birthday, but unfortunately I never got a special dessert which was a disappointment. Also, it took a long time to check in and after all that our room was not ready, so they said they will give me call. Two and half hours later never received a call and so I finally checked with the desk clerk and she said our room was ready. I really enjoyed my stay there and would recommend to friends and family.

We had to dig a station menu with the wine pairings. The waiters seemed aloof and did not pay any attention to anything we said. The wine pairings were poor. For example, the meat course had a white sparkling wine when it should’ve been a bold red. The courses looked unique, but they did not match. The looks with flavor.

Wonderful sunset experience with delicious, but expensive snacks. Cocktails somewhat stingy on alcohol content in Bloody Marys and Margaritas and they charge to top up drink so that one can taste the alcohol

Spectacular experience for a birthday celebration! Our stay was most memorable, as our suite overlooked the cathedral and the beautiful town of San Miguel de Allende. If you're planning on a trip, this property is the place to stay! Do not hesitate to dine at Pirules - the food was unbelievable. The rooftop bar is special too with phenomenal views.
