Reviews for Royal Hotel Sanremo

Very disappointed - bad value for money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We had high hopes for this hotel and left dissapointed. Visiting several luxury hotels on the Italian coast, but this was the worst experience. The hotel is nice, but the experience is bad. For a five star hotel, the breakfast was cheap, bad quality and not a pleasant experience. Serving nespresso capsules at a five star hotel is just cheap. The staff was grumpy and in many cases rude. One example is of the staff in the reception «bragging» that we got an ocean view room like we got upgraded, but the reality was that we got the room we booked and paid for. The concierge service was just grumpy and hated their job. And the staff on the pool was super rude. Not to mention that everything in the hotel is super expensive. I am more than happy to pay extra if the quality is higher, but to pay for cheaper products you do not expect to get on a five star hotel is shameful. Will not be back.

Old style luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Old style luxury hotel at good location near city center. Vallet parking, lots of staff, big amount of rooms. Propably the nost beautiful indoor areas that Ive ever seen, real palazzo style. Room was spacious and had two bathroom. You should definately take seaview room. Pool area was special and nice and partly made of natural stone. However it was surprising that it was salty water pool. Some parts was outdated like children playground and minigolf.

Italian elegance

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

A very elegant hotel in an Italian style. The staff were courteous and professional from the very start. The valet service was highly professional—you don’t have to worry about your luxury car. The rooms were very clean and elegant. The pool was spacious and clean, offering a view of the sea and the hotel. It’s a real shame there’s no dress code. Unfortunately, there are guests who insist on showing up everywhere in flip-flops and shorts.

Came for gourmet got excellent seafood pasta

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We didn’t stay, the lobby was really beautiful and we wanted to eat in the gourmet restaurant but weren’t dressed for it so we went to Carallina at the pool. Fantastic dinner the seafood pasta and dessert were fantastic, as was the service and the musical entertainment.

Magnificence Multiplied

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The Royal Hotel is a dream repeatable. This year’s stay both equaled and surpassed last June’s because there’s always a new moment to savor in the splendor of this Belle Epoque setting kept shiny and renewed by dedicated management and team of service providers. The Gio Ponti freshwater pool was delightful in the midst of a European heatwave while breakfast buffet, pool, and poolside dining at Coralina was marked by a high degree of staff excellence. Fresh fruit and sorbet provided to pool loungers was the most thoughtful surprise imaginable. No wonder a couple held their wedding here!
