Reviews for Baglioni Resort Sardinia

The Baglioni Hotel is truly a special place to visit.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

My wife and I visited for our 18th year anniversary. From the moment you arrive until checkout, you feel as though you are at one of the most special hotels in the world. The staff are truly incredible from the restaurants to the spa and especially the Concierge . The concierge truly went above and beyond If a reservation needed to be updated or we needed help planning a day of sightseeing. They were also Very helpful in booking our boat tour which was one of our favorite excursions in Italy. The breakfast buffet is truly a special experience every morning with the staff who serves you making you feel special each time . The buffet is complimentary and offers the best in baked goods, unlimited fresh fruit as well As an omelet station, cheeses, fresh juice options and classic Italian cheeses and meats. We also had dinner one evening at MIRTO which is there more casual dining and had a fantastic dinner once again with the staff being very attentive ! We would definitely say one of the most special experiences as a couple was doing, The sauna, and steam in the spa, which were both complementary to all guests, and it was truly luxurious experience . In our opinion The Baglioni hotel will be a phenomenal experience for anyone who plans a visit.

Beautiful, Relaxing Stay at Baglioni Sardinia – Ideal for Families Seeking Refined Comfort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We recently spent 6 nights at the Baglioni Resort in Sardinia and we loved it. We’re a family of 4 with two kids (13 yo girl & 10 yo boy) with quite a bit of high-end travel experience and we’d definitely recommend Baglioni. The resort strikes a thoughtful balance between luxury and comfort, with attentive service and a setting that showcases the natural beauty of the region. **Accommodations** The rooms felt a bit compact by American standards, which is common in Europe, but they were well-appointed and comfortable. The resort’s layout takes full advantage of the scenic surroundings, and we honestly didn’t spend much time at all in the rooms. **Dining** The resort’s food was a highlight. The Michelin-starred Gusto restaurant offered a memorable tasting menu, while Mirto consistently served quality dishes in a pleasant setting. Our waiter at Mirto stood out for her professional and friendly service. Even the casual lunches at the resort were well-executed—with fresh caprese salads, sandwiches, and seafood, all served with a view. And the bar area is large with very comfortable chairs and couches and a great menu. Another bonus is the music they had at the bar - each night was a different vibe and/or performer. Nothing too dramatic, just great piano or singing or DJ. We loved it. **Beach** The beach is a major draw, with clear, calm water and a peaceful setting and a stunning view of Tavolara. Yes, it’s a walk from the resort but it’s beautiful and is a good buffer for the resort from the beach vibe. Comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas and attentive staff made it easy to spend hours swimming, reading, or simply relaxing by the sea. **Excursions** The concierge team helped organize two excellent boat excursions - one to the north of the island and one to the south. Although the marina was about an hour from the hotel—something to factor in—the outings were well worth it. We visited several stunning coastal spots, including Cala Goloritzè and Cala Mariolu. One lunch stop at Hotel Capo D’Orso offered great food and beautiful views, making for a standout day on the water. **Family-Friendly Atmosphere** One of the resort’s strengths is how it caters to families without sacrificing a refined atmosphere. Our children (ages 13 and 10) felt welcome and engaged throughout the stay, especially on the beach, which became a daily highlight for all of us. Lots of open space around the hotel grounds to throw the football or just walk and take in the atmosphere. **Final Thoughts** Baglioni Resort is a premium option and delivers a high-quality experience. Between the location, service, and amenities, we found it to be an awesome resort and one we would whole-heartedly recommend. Our time there gave us a chance to slow down, connect, and create some great family memories. It’s a destination we’d gladly return to. **Things We Wish We Had Known** The distance to the marinas is an hour plus from the hotel so make sure to factor that into your plans if you do a boat excursion. Also, transportation to/from the marinas was expensive ($400+ euro each direction) when we arranged through the resort. Taxis are not a last minute thing. You need to arrange transportation in advance if you plan to go into town for anything (San Teodoro is super cute and there’s a night market that was very cool to walk around - they close down the streets to cars). Availability at the spa was too tight to arrange a massage once there. Recommend doing it before you arrive if your schedule allows.

You are paying five star prices for a three star resort.

My boyfriend and I had hoped for a luxurious stay, our experience fell far short of expectations. That said, I’ll begin with a few positives. Check-in was seamless. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely receptionist, Laura, who went above and beyond—offering us an upgrade, allowing for early check-in, and personally showing us around the property. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a generous selection and attentive service. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. On our walk from the room to the restaurant, we were surprised by the amount of litter scattered along the pathway—including a baggage tag, bottle cap, and even dental floss (which was particularly off-putting). The overall grounds maintenance was disappointing: weeds growing through the sidewalks, poorly tended landscaping, and bird droppings in several areas. The restaurant experience—both lunch and dinner—was equally disappointing. Our first attempt at ordering a hamburger cooked medium resulted in a dry, completely overcooked burger. We let it slide, assuming it might have been a one-off mistake. After all, what chef at a five-star resort can't properly cook a simple hamburger? On our second attempt, we clearly explained our previous experience and emphasized—twice—that we wanted the burger cooked medium. Our server, Roberto, was understanding and tried to help. Unfortunately, the kitchen first served a medium-rare burger, and then followed it with one that was actually rare. At that point, we gave up. Dinner that evening was mediocre at best. What stood out most wasn’t the food—it was the swarm of yellow jackets and wasps that descended on our table. When we mentioned the issue to our server, he casually remarked that moving us wouldn’t help, as they were “everywhere.” His flippant response only added to our frustration. These details may seem small, but they add up—and are not what one expects from a resort positioned as five-star.

We wanted to have an all out fantastic relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting! Although expensive it was amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We arrived and the staff were amazing! A bit of a wait for the room but we were able to access facilities and an upgrade (thank you). We were shown around the resort. Food amazing Housekeeping every day and turn back service. Fresh water and chocolates! Staff so friendly and welcoming. Quite expensive but we knew it would be. Cocktails are fab by the pool and staff were so accommodating. Pool and beach amazing. We wanted to have time to chill out from our busy lives and this holiday did not disappoint. A little walk to the beach and a small beach bar was ideal, as it was much cheaper than the resort and we found a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We did walk to the local supermarket but I would recommend hiring a car or taking good walking shoes. There was a concierge service and the gentleman was lovely and very helpful. We will definitely be returning…. Thank you to all the amazing staff!

Relaxation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The hotel location is superb; although the hotel don't have a a beach bar, the independent bar on the beach was fantastic with wonderful staff. The hotel grounds are also fantastic and made the holiday - it never felt that there were lots of people around us.. Breakfasts were amazing - the staff (waiters, etc etc) were brilliant. It seems unfair to pick out individuals, but we remember Elena for her welcome smile each morning, Francesco who noted our breakfast on many a day, and Sandro who kept everything in order. Our holiday was a relax, but it appears there many sights; we would definitely return. There were a number of issues during our visit, but Vincenzo dealt with those in a professional manner and ensured that we enjoyed our stay and would, thanks to him, return to this suburb location.
