Nice- but wifi is awful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Nice place but the wi-fi is awful. If you need wifi to work, from a cell, iPad or laptop, good luck. Food is great, friendly staff and great location. I do wish the beds were more comfortable- bathrooms are good, and well appointed. Just please, please fix the wifi

A Cozy Stay In Historic Santa Fe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at Los Palomas at the recommendation of a family member, and we were not disappointed! Upon check in, Johnnie went out of his way to welcome us in and give us his personal recommendations around town. They also had some homemade potato chips and frozen lemonade waiting for us at the front desk. Our room with nearby parking was in a Pueblo around the corner from the front desk (a 1 minute walk from the lobby). After going through a security gate, we wound our way through the path towards our room. The room itself was very welcoming, with a couch, TV and mini kitchen area with a hot plate and sink. There was also a microwave, mini fridge and fireplace in the main living area. Just off the main room was a large bed and full bathroom. Everything was clean and decorated with local artwork. Our stay was on the shorter side, so we ended up not needing maid service, but they did tell us to call if we needed anything. Breakfast was served just off the main lobby, and offered an assortment of fruit, pastries and bagels. Orange juice, regular coffee and water were also available. For hot foods, they had a kitchen that could prepare one of five dishes (breakfast burrito, breakfast tacos, eggs and potatoes, pancakes or a healthy option). They asked for no special orders, but gladly prepared ours vegetarian. There was also a local artist with a booth setup just outside the lobby with some beautiful jewelry and weavings. We ended up buying two keychains as souvenirs. The rooms do have physical keys, so we had to be careful not to lose those, and coin-operated laundry is available on-site. This property was also pet-friendly, and so we saw quite a few dogs while we were coming and going. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. This property is within walking distance of many of the galleries, shops and restaurants in the historic downtown district of Santa Fe. Most days, we just left our car and ventured out on foot. Overall, we would definitely consider staying with this property if traveling in the area again.

End of My Search for a Great Santa Fe Accommodation!

Las Palomas is terrific. It encompasses several old adobe homes, all within a block of the main building--where hot, cooked-to-order breakfast is served, fresh barista drinks are available all day, opera recordings play in the background, and a weaver demonstrates and sells her beautiful work. Each of the buildings has its own parking and its own courtyards. We had a junior suite. It had a comfy sitting area, an ultra-modern kitchen that was compact but beautifully equipped, one of the world's most comfortable queen beds, a big clothes closet and a dresser, and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. It's full of interesting art, and it oozes atmosphere. The decor is a charming mix of old-school New Mexican colonial with modern and practical touches. It feels authentic and livable. The staff members at Las Palomas are uniformly kind and attentive. They made us feel like welcomed long-lost cousins. Every minute was perfect.

I highly recommend

From the instant at check-in to checkout our experience was superb! The staff they have working at Las Palomas make your stay special. Never have I had the pleasure of dealing with such friendly staff from Sam and Eddy at the front desk, to the ladies who work at breakfast (sorry didn’t get their names). Our casita was adorably Santa Fe with all the comforts. The snacks provided are also delicious and crave worthy. I highly recommend.

Warning do not book! This place looks nothing like the pictures but very dirty and run down. We left.

The whole place is dirty and run down. The rooms are a distance from the parking , which is gravel. They have an insect problem since we saw numerous traps in the room. We left and the owner refused to refund our money. They force you to pay in advance then refuse to refund when you see what the place is like. Do not book!!!!
