Reviews for Regent Santa Monica Beach

One of the BEST Thanksgiving week trips with our family

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Family of five (kids 12, 11, 8) trip over Thanksgiving week. We love to travel and experience - the Regent Santa Monica is one of the best so far! The property is beautiful and the service is outstanding. We had a suite (two adjoining but different layout rooms). So difficult to find adequate sized room options that aren’t an entire penthouse. All of the staff from valet, check in, pool service, restaurants, etc were overly accommodating. I rarely think of returning to the same location - but this place is worth it.

Five star service, cleanliness and relaxation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

You know how you sit in your hotel room and look at all nooks and corners? Same in bathroom? This hotel room/bathroom had every single corner spotless. Towels so plush, sheets so soft. Great sleep! Only thing was the EDM concert on S Monica pier was happening Sat. night but it stopped by 11pm. Amenities were top top too! Dyson hairdryer, Nespresso... great bottled water. Room service- no joke- white glove service and best I have ever had. I even did dinner and better than the restaurant. Gym was so great too! Two story and immaculate. (I love how on way to gym at 6am from my room I saw them cleaning the elevator, literally polishing the brass on the elevator entrance). Pool service- perfect! Manager comes over and calls you by name checking on you. Bar is fun to sit an chat with great bartenders. Wonderful view of S Monica pier down the way and all the people at the beach. Check in and bellhop- super! Spa! Wow! Just what you would expect from a Guerlain spa. Massage was perfect perfect. The kind where you fall asleep because it was so relaxing. This was a quick solo weekend trip so I could be by the ocean and get their quickly. Easy drive from LAX btw. I had my driver pick me up and easy easy. Same with pick up on Sunday- quick 20 minutes to LAX. Only issue- Mina restaurant- just ok... nice service but just ok. Will absolutely go back in the spring when their pool opens.

A Fresh, Luxurious Surprise on the California Coast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

⭐ Regent Santa Monica — A Fresh, Luxurious Surprise on the California Coast I stayed at the Regent Santa Monica for the Fora Asia Intensive, and I’m so glad I chose this property. What an unexpected and refreshing luxury experience. Formerly a Loews, the hotel underwent an extensive year-and-a-half transformation—reducing the room count by half and expanding every space so that nearly all accommodations now feel like true suites. The moment you enter, the hotel feels bright, elegant, and grand. A towering, statuesque Christmas tree greeted me during check-in, adding warmth and festive charm. The service shined from the start: I was welcomed at the car, my bags were handled immediately, and I was personally escorted to the front desk. While checking in, I enjoyed a spiced apple cider welcome drink before a manager walked me—and my luggage—to my room. And the rooms… absolutely stunning. Thoughtfully designed with a serene wave wall backdrop, complimentary sparkling waters and sodas, a Nespresso, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve stayed in. The bathroom is a dream—complete with a Dyson hair dryer, clothing steamer, soaking tub, and bath salts I fully indulged in between meetings. These are the kinds of touches that elevate a stay from “nice” to “memorable.” The property is perfectly positioned across the street from the beach with postcard views of the Santa Monica Pier, Ferris wheel, and coastline. The pool and hot tub sit in the heart of the hotel with cabanas and ocean breezes—a relaxing hideaway that still feels connected to the energy of the beach. Dining is impressive as well, with concepts by Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry, plus a gorgeous Guerlain Spa that adds a true luxury-wellness element to the stay. The location is unbeatable: steps to restaurants, shopping, the beach, and only about 20 minutes from LAX. Every staff member I encountered was warm, polished, and genuinely helpful. Their consistency made the stay feel effortless. Regent Santa Monica is a standout luxury option in Los Angeles—modern, welcoming, beautifully designed, and confidently a place I would send all my family and friends. Highly recommend for business trips, beach getaways, wellness weekends, or a stylish home base for exploring LA.

Best Hotel in LA

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

The Regent is an extraordinary new property and has become the best hotel in LA! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and the hard product is stunning, all new with exquisite design and luxurious touches but what sets this hotel apart is the service. The team here is the embodiment of five star luxury hospitality starting with the GM Younes and team leaders Myra, Reed, Lex, and everyone else, are all so warm, kind, and took such great care of us. I was one of the first guests last year during pre-opening and I just came back after a year and both stays they gave me the most amazing welcome filled with special touches, were super receptive to my feedback, and were beyond generous to me in ways I will always remember. I immensely appreciate their kindness and generosity. Myra in particular is truly a gem in hospitality, so sweet and the best energy. Literally everyone I interacted with from pool staff to housekeeping was so genuinely kind and helpful and really wanting to make you happy. The food is outstanding and delicious from breakfast to lunch to dinner, everything was excellent. The Guerlain spa is elegant and chic with very impressive facilities and our spa treatments were exceptional. Truly one of the best spas in the world and worth a visit just for the spa alone. The pool was also great and had amazing views of sunsets and the beach. We also did the beach butler experience where they set up chairs and umbrellas right on the beach for you and offer drinks and food you can order. I also highly recommend using their complimentary house car which is a super luxurious brand new Bentley. Honestly this hotel is incredibly luxurious in every way and has the most exceptional service in all of LA. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
