If you like Perfection & Luxury, this is your place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We used to stay at this oceanfront hotel when it was a Loews, and didn’t know what to expect from Regent. Perfection & luxury is what we found. Our room had 2 oceanfront balconies with 2 chairs, each. The bedroom closet is straight out of Beverly Hills, with soft leather boxes and heavy cedar hangers. The decor is soft colors with leather accents. Beautiful. The bath was stunning with a walk-in shower w herringbone marble tile & a soaking tub. Robes were luscious. Restaurant service was impeccable. The front desk manager was exceptional & saw to our every possible need. Breakfast on the patio, with a full ocean view, was perfection. The room was quiet, AC adjusts as low as you want it, water pressure was ideal. Honestly, if you need a relaxing spot with oceanfront views and no mistakes, this is your place. My husband said the massage at the spa was as wonderful as everything else. I probably liked the quiet the most & housekeeping team met our every expectation. Even Greg, the bellman, went above & beyond. The world can be stressful & imperfect. This place is like being on a cloud of perfection. The best hotels I have experienced were Oberoi & Taj. Regent was on that level.

Best Luxury Hotel in Santa Monica

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The property is amazingly beautiful and believe me, that’s only the beginning! The team makes you feel as if you’re the only guest on site. We spent 4 days and 3 nights in the fire pit, ocean front room this week. The staff decorated the room for my partners bday ahead of arrival. Places lounge chairs on the patio to ensure we could sit at the fire pit, tan/lounge, and/or enjoy breakfast at the round + 4 chairs. The property is California luxury, best in class service, and worth every penny! Waldo is amazing and helped us with every request. Love this property and will be back!

Fantastic hotel experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We spent two weeks at this fantastic hotel, and it was hands down the best hotel experience we’ve ever had, thanks to the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and attentive to detail—they even surprised us with our initials embroidered on the pillowcases! Truly the best hotel experience, and we will definitely be back.

It may be nice for leisure, but unsuitable for events.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I was invited to an event. I came an hour early, wanted to use their valet - and after 45 mins in line I gave up and went for an alternative structure. The situation after the event was even worse and I was so thankful that we had parked elsewhere. The whole event felt as it had come as a surprise to then. The whole thing felt so ... unprepared. Back down in the lobby we could not even get a coffee. Visually, it's a nice hotel. I just fail to understand how you can invite a few hundred local business executives and then fail so badly. So while this hotel may be nice for leisure, I would never book any of our Princess for one day events there.
