Santa Monica Proper Hotel

Second time at the Santa Monica Proper. And just a wonderful experience. Great staff, great atmosphere, and the prettiest hotel gym around. Highly recommend.

My wife and I and stayed at the Proper for our wedding weekend in Oct ‘25. They superseded all expectations for the entire weekend. Above the beautiful spaces, great food, top notch service, the team you work with makes you feel right at home. They check on you regularly to make sure the experience is up to your standards. From valet to check in and the entire management team helped ensure we and all of our family/guests had a wonderful experience. The hospitality is out of this world. Special thanks to Silvis for helping with bags and a mid-trip room change. Riley and Marcia at the front desk helped us settle in and address questions and kept the weekend going smoothly and Matt from the customer care team really went above and beyond to make our weekend feel extra special and reduced stress in other areas of the weekend. While the price may be a bit up there for many, you absolutely get all that value and more when staying at the Proper Santa Monica! Highly recommended!

Santa Monica Proper easily outshines the legacy “premier” properties when it comes to accommodations, design, and staff professionalism. The restaurants are outstanding—vibrant, creative, and clearly part of the local scene. Hotel Manager Felipe Reyes goes above and beyond to make the Proper feel like a true home away from home. He remembers my preferences and has exceeded expectations with every visit. Without question, Santa Monica Proper is my preferred hotel in LA

Location is a bit inland from the ocean. Overall not that bad. Away from the beach traffic and crowd. Atmosphere was great. Interior designing was great and appeared like every single item is placed at its location deliberately. Our room was in land mark building. Minor issue we had was with the street vehicular traffic noise. We booked through our chase reserve card and got all the benefits. Definitely great value. Entire facility was great. Great service providers. Fitness facilities were top notch and super clean. By the way Afternoon Tea (in picture) was exceptional

Truly incredible and immaculate hotel. It is next level, modern yet homely. Full of buzzing personality and vibes. The manager of the hotel was excellent when it came to us needing to discuss something. That’s what makes a great hotel in my opinion! Even the managing director Armando followed up with me on an email. I thought that was amazing. The wellness and gym was out of this world. The best gym I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Fully equipped with incredible equipment. Bravo! Was a little loud though nightlife wise and we had our little boy so wouldnt really recommend it to families that sleep early.
