A proper ‘go-to’!
The proper Santa Monica is our ‘go-to’ hotel for lots of good reasons. The location is perfect The building and decor is appropriately sheik and cool but not overstated. The staff are always attentive. Makes for a relaxing test sophisticated place. The two restaurants offer enough variety that dining out is not necessary.

Another great stay at the Proper Santa Monica. Attentive service, great atmosphere, and a wonderful stay. Each time I have been here, the staff has been exemplary. Every hotel has its challenges, and whenever I needed something taken care of, the staff was there and able to effectively and efficiently solve the problem. Thanks so much for making my time at the Proper Santa Monica comfortable and accommodating. Will be back for sure.

As Close to Perfect
After all my travels and experiences at some of the top hotels in the world I have no problem stating the Proper in Santa Monica is in my top hotels and spas anywhere in the world. Specifically, I would like to mention a gentleman that took care of us. The Gentleman's name is Taha (which we renamed to simply T). T is thoughtful, exacting, and a hospitality professional that should be celebrated by not only management but ownership. The Hotel and Spa were very clean, and the room was a mid-century sanctuary! Cheers to the Proper, I will be staying with you anytime I am close to LA. And specifically for T if you ever find yourself not appreciated reach out to me. I would love to have you on our team!

If it’s good enough for Gwyneth!
Proper is exactly that, a proper stay for a good nights rest. Everything is Meticulously curated and fit for a peaceful week away from the daily business and/or family visits in town. The spa is well designed and includes all of the accoutrements; trained staff in traditional Ayurvedic disciplines of wellness. This is a must have for anyone looking to be pampered, Gwyneth style!
