Nantipa - A Tico Beach Experience

We had a lovely one week stay at Nantipa and highly recommend this peaceful hotel right in the middle of the all the fun in Santa Teresa! We loved our Manti bungalow #8 with the private plunge pool. Its proximity next the spa meant that we had the sounds of peaceful spa music all day. We had a very short walk to the pool, restaurant and beautiful sandy beach. We enjoyed the Pilates reformer studio just in front of the hotel as well as the Buggy Blue golf cart rental. A golf cart was the perfect way to get around to restaurants that were a little further such as Eat Street and Katana as well as for a visit to the spectacular Playa Hermosa. Small touches made our stay extra comfortable such as the spacious bathroom, two suitcase stands, drying rack in the back patio, daily refresh of beach towels, and two times daily service in the room which kept it perfectly clean at all times - I really commend the staff for keeping the room and whole property spotless! The staff including concierge Emma was super helpful and always available via WhatsApp which was super convenient. We loved being able to enjoy the peaceful vibe of this hotel while being a short walk away to the party atmosphere at Uma’s and Rachos Ituana. The rooms are quite sound proof so we had no issues with noise. Although the room has an outdoor shower (my fav) it was not private enough for a full shower; perhaps the hotel could consider something to make the outdoor showers more private, although I still did enjoy that the indoor shower had a door to the outside. Thanks to the Nantipa team for a wonderful stay!

The hotel itself is a beautiful property, well maintained, kind and respectful staff. In particular Dawn and Emma were quite helpful. I planned the trip with the intention of relaxation with little planned. There was some confusion with my reservation as I wanted the Ninta Bungalow and thought I had it but had it for only two days and had to move. They were helpful but there are no concessions made for any deviation from process. For example. We had inquired about a romantic dinner and we never chose the menu and so assumed it was not planned. They booked a reservation for me at my request elsewhere and then told me I had the romantic dinner while we were at the other restaurant eating. I had to pay for the romantic dinner with no discount given, the full amount ($400.00) for a no show. I requested a 20 percent discount and explained the oversight etc and they thanked me for coming and made zero concession. A 20 percent discount would have made me feel okay about it. But alas, no. For that reason only I left disappointed. I would come back as it was very nice but it still hurt.

Once you arrive at the location, it is second to none. The entire vide of the hotel and grounds gives you instant peace. The accommodations were excellent along with the staff service. The Hotel is not inexpensive but worth every bit of the money.

Hotel Nantipa was a dream place to stay. Attention to every detail, catering to our every desire/want. The food was excellent and the scenery exquisite. The hotel is quaintly designed. The staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. I will surely be back!

What an outstanding hotel and location! Our Ninta room on the beach was superb; contemporary design with high quality finishes and a very comfortable bed. The two opening walls blended the room into the tropical foliage, plunge pool, day beds and beach which was right outside complete with sunsets. The hotel also has a gorgeous pool which was at just the right temperature for cooling off. Apart from the hotels physical attributes, what made our stay particularly memorable were the excellent, friendly hotel staff. A big shout out to Emma and Anthony at the Concierge desk for their wonderful friendly help to make our stay so effortless and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Before our trip Emma helped us with recommendations for various excursions which were booked in advance. Highly recommended if you want to get the best guides (such as Ernesto). Nantipa is an exceptional hotel overflowing with calm Pura Vida. Not to be missed!
