Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Santiago

Hotel Service Beyond Belief

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Santiago was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with big smiles from every staff member we encountered. Every staff member made us feel truly welcomed. Every day when we returned, we were greeted by the refreshing tea served in the lobby. This attention to detail continued in our room, where we found chocolates placed on our nightstands every day, which brought so much joy to our family. As vegetarians, we were impressed by how accommodating and attentive the staff was to our dietary needs. The impeccable service, thoughtful details, and genuine kindness made our stay unforgettable. We would return in a heartbeat.

Wonderful stay, fantastic service - a special mention to Vicente!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Vicente was outstanding in his warmth and hospitality. He took the time to speak with us whilst we were enjoying cocktails by the pool and when he found out that we are Malaysians and badly missing our traditional congee breakfast, he made special arrangements to have the congee prepared for us at breakfast, complete with all the correct condiments! Service on par with Aman and other 6 star hotels. We were delighted and touched by Vicente's special care. Many thanks also to the chef Many (Many Juan Cacares) who prepared the congee. This truly made our stay at MO Santiago a memorable highlight of our trip to South America! A special mention also to Martin and Camilla at the concierge desk who were very helpful and had great recommendations, Ignacio at reception who was very responsive and Benjamin the bellhop who was also very eager to please. Rooms were large, modern and well appointed. Bathrooms were great too. The pool and gardens were a lovely respite.

Excellent service and room quality- Plan to uber for dinners

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Santiago and came away with a very positive overall impression, driven largely by the quality of service and the comfort of the accommodations. The standout feature of this property is the professionalism of the staff, particularly the concierge team. Every interaction was handled with efficiency, warmth, and genuine expertise. They were consistently helpful in arranging logistics, answering questions, and providing thoughtful recommendations—exactly what you hope for at a hotel in this category. Our room was another highlight: very clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with a layout that made it easy to relax after a day out. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. We also appreciated the flexibility on checkout time, which made our departure day much more comfortable and stress-free. The lounge was above average, offering a pleasant environment and a solid selection of food and beverages—definitely a worthwhile amenity if you have access. There were a couple of minor drawbacks. We found the restaurant service to be somewhat slow, even by Santiago standards, and food pricing felt on the high side relative to other good dining options in the city. In addition, the location is not particularly walkable for restaurants, meaning you’ll likely rely on Uber or taxis for most dining outings. Overall, this is a well-run, comfortable hotel with exceptional service, best suited for travelers who prioritize a quiet, polished environment and don’t mind a bit of transportation for meals. Doesn’t live up to the brand name

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Underwhelming experience, unfortunately does not live up to the brand name or the price level. I would look at other options in Santiago. - Rooms are worn down and most problematic - very dirty floors with dust, hair, and random dirt. I’ve rarely seen a floor as dirty in a hotel before. Mirror in bathroom with toothpaste stain and dust also. Broken lights in closet that doesn’t turn off. - Maintenance of locks of rooms well after sleeping time, bothering guests. - Check-in experience was slow, and not very welcoming. Requested if we could get connecting rooms - already weeks ago. Upon check in we were told that the hotel was sold out while rooms are available online. Felt unprofessional and dishonest. - hard pillows and hard beds

Outstanding Stay at Excellent Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Three nights at this venue were unexpectedly delightful, true posh very stylishly yet exceedingly comfortable. Stylish, in my experience, often is about appearance rather than comfort of body as well as soul. So, hurrah for MO Santiago which has perfected both. Was very happy in my spacious one-bedroom terrace suite which was surprisingly affordable. F&B in the several restaurants was fine but Room Service was merely adequate for nutrition. Nevetheless, I will abide here on future visits. Concierge excellent and email communication super. Service excellent, warm and kindly. English common. Reviews here gave me some qualms but my experience of the hotel was super and my stay outstanding.
