We must say that this hotel exceeded our expectations. Booked as part of a Silversea Antarctica Cruise package, we paid a small premium to secure a high floor with mountain views. It was a very large room with wraparound views of the city, west to the Andes. We used the pool, and the outdoor dining area. Our love of Pisco, and its origins led us to meeting Sebastian, the hotel’s restaurant supervisor. Together with Fabian, the bar captain, they took us on a ‘pisco tasting journey’ This was such an unexpected, but wonderful and personal experience from two very busy people in a very large hotel. Something that doesn’t happen often these days. We left this hotel happy and satisfied.

We have stayed in many Mandarin Hotels and this was the worst. We had booked an expensive suite and an adjoining room. No one showed us to our room or told us how everything worked. There was not a flower or a bunch of grapes or welcome letter. Nothing. The suite was large with a dining table and coffee machine but no China in the room, only 2 cardboard takeaway cups. We phoned for room service to get drinks for 4 people and were told thete was a kettle in the room so wouldn't bring then, we were told we could use the club lounge but our keys weren't programmed to let us in. So we had to go back to reception which constantly had a large que. We have tried to contact the manager but so far no one has got back to us. We recently stayed at the Mandar6in Dubai which h could not have been more different. Also bathroom toiletries were very meagre and stuck to the wall. Very disappointing

The Mandarin Oriental Santiago offers a refined stay in a stunning setting, highlighted by our Club Level room with a breathtaking, unobstructed view of the Andes — truly memorable and one of the hotel’s strongest assets. The Club Level benefits were well executed and added meaningful value to our stay. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening canapés were all included and consistently high quality, making the Club Lounge a comfortable and elegant space to unwind throughout the day. Our room was spacious, well maintained, and very comfortable, delivering the understated luxury expected of the brand. One point worth noting is that the bathroom featured a shower only, with no bathtub — a small but relevant detail for travelers accustomed to full five-star amenities. While service for most of the stay was polished and attentive, the arrival experience was noticeably below expectations for a Mandarin Oriental. At check-in, we waited in line for nearly 15 minutes, while the front desk manager appeared focused on supervisory matters rather than assisting guests. In addition, welcome amenities that had been arranged in advance by our travel agent were not delivered upon entering our room, requiring us to contact management to have this corrected. Although these issues were eventually addressed, they were disappointing first impressions for an otherwise high-end property. Overall, the Mandarin Oriental Santiago delivers an elegant experience with exceptional views and a strong Club Level offering, but attention to arrival details and coordination would elevate it to a true five-star standard. Overall, the Mandarin Oriental Santiago delivers a luxury experience with outstanding Club Level privileges.

Sometimes things go wrong on holidays. First a scam driver took us from the airport to the hotel but hotel staff led by Cristobal quickly came to the car and helped us out of a tricky situation. The next day my wife had a fall in the room and again the hotel staff did everything possible to assist. Many thanks to Agustina who coordinated the support including emergency doctor visit and a staff member to translate, a wheelchair and transfers to and from the hospital in the hotel’s car… even breakfast to our room. As for the hotel, well we really liked it. It is well located with a beautiful pool and grounds… but it was the personal and sincere care and extra attention from the staff that we will always remember.

The pinnacle of a luxury hotel in Santiago, great rooms, terrific service, and if staying in the Summer the hotel pool is the best in Santiago. Also walking distance to great shopping, restaurants, and bars
