Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago

Excellent stay

Excellent hotel. Outstanding location. Lovely staff and go will help with most needs. Great rooftop indoor pool with a bar and small outdoor space. The service is excellent. Lounge access with some rooms gives you a great option for personal concierge and snacks/drinks all days. Free two item pressing each day. We just lover it.

Poor management from the top down!

Wow, what a disappointment! The best thing about this place is the overly eager bellmen and we tipped the especially well because they were the highlight. Our reservation was booked months in advance, but upon arrival, we were told that they would be several hours before they could get us in a room. No problem, we'll find something to busy ourselves. (I grew up living in hotels, as my dad ran several - it happens.) So we walked the streets of Santiago with 2 hours of sleep from our overnight flight and left our luggage with the bellmen/concierge. We came back at the time we were told to find out that they still did not have any clean rooms for us. We were told to wait at least another hour. So one of our party sat in the lobby while the rest of us went back to exploring again. We came back an hour later and were told the same thing again - another hour; no rooms available. We were told to go upstairs to sit in the spa while we waited because it is "so beautiful". (Truthfully, it was a good diversion - it does have a nice patio and the pool is small, but lovely. There is also a public shower, but honestly, we would need to go back down the bellmen, get our bags, unpack everything to shower, pack it all up again . . . you see where this is going. Surely they will give us our room soon.). So we wait in the spa - lovely receptionist in this part of the building. When we try again, they tell me that they have to give us two rooms with separate beds. There are *literally* (according to the front desk team) NO rooms that have been vacated today that have a single king bed. I ask to speak with the manager. At this point, I am directed to sit in the middle of the lobby to wait for said manager to show up to speak with me. He's apparently "on his way." We are now checked out and I never met the manager. I have no idea what "his" name is, even. Needless to say, he never showed up. I finally called American Express where I made our reservation through and they said they would handle it. The last time we returned, we were able to check in, and they finally gave us keys to our two rooms. It was 3:30pm at this point and we were dog tired. The check in time officially is 3pm, so now we are checking in late. Look, there is no way that if they have a team cleaning the rooms as people check out, that there weren't two rooms they could give us. They were holding the rooms for guests arriving later. This place is poorly managed from the top down. What kind of manager can't take the time to speak with a guest who has been stalled for HOURS!!??!!?? There are so many options, friends. Just pick a different one and stop by here to say hi to the bellmen, who will no doubt greet you eagerly. We won't do it again.

Luxury in Las Condes

Ritz Carlton in Santiago (Las Condes area) is an old world luxurious hotel. The vibe is that of a rich grandfather’s library or office with dark woods. The hotel is in a convenient location with cafes, restaurants and shopping nearby. The room is huge, bright and clean. The bathroom comes with a tub and a separate toilet and shower. The breakfast spread is plentiful with vegan and gluten free options. The rooftop pool is nice and heated with a nice view of the mountains and the Costanera Tower. Would like to mention some staff that made our stay memorable. Italo at the front desk welcomed us and was very efficient. Scarlet from housekeeping, the ladies at the spa/pool area and the porters, Alexander and an older guy I missed getting his name. I also want to mention that their restaurant, Estro served us one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Their ceviche, shrimp salad (will not forget this salad) and the abalone dish were delicious! And these were all from the appetizers selection. Overall, will recommended to people who wants a bit of luxury in the center of Las Condes.

Excellent service and location

Excellent service and location. Great attention to detail. Good: - Lovely service from front of house to pool. - The executive club was great and the staff attentive. Ismael was so good and really helped us with booking things and advising on little things like the weather in Valparaiso. It’s these little things that make the experience. - The rooms were spacious and well appointed with good shower pressure - The hotel was clean and well maintained - the food was excellent in the executive club and restaurant - great food nearby especially la Cabrera - good concierge with really helpful staff - great transport service that drops you anywhere and picks you up on request esp. Diego and Julio - excellent shower pressure - comfy beds Not so good: - the room keys and lift access keys kept wiping and we needed to have them reset many times per day. Bad - the room aircon was not effective and really noisy struggling to get the room to 23 degrees Celsius

Great location and great service

The rooms were spacious, clean and updated, location of the hotel is excellent and the people that work there were super helpful and friendly. The down side, and it's our preference, is that it's a staid, Marriott like hotel with minimal character
