Ritz Club level Santiago

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My Dad and I just wrapped up a brief trip to Chile. We stayed at the Ritz Santiago and found the property had a lot of amenities, mostly friendly service, but also still some elements a bit lackluster (for the brand). We stayed on the club level on the 10th floor and we truly appreciated having the lounge available to us - it made such a difference after a long day of sightseeing. This lounge had a TON of staff - more people than I've ever seen at a RC club and they were friendly and helped us out quite a bit. From arranging transportation to securing last minute reservations - these agents proved their worth. The club never felt crowded and I appreciated what felt like a luxury experience. The lobby staff was a bit disappointing from check-in (agents felt dismissive, the doorman didn't help with luggage, and the waiters at the main restaurant were very disappointing.) The hotel needs some renovations but its still a solid property for South America.

How to be happy in Santiago

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The services from the staff are outstanding. I stayed at other 5 star hotels in Santiago and just recently I was at the Ritz in London and the staff at the Ritz Santiago was better than all. A special thank to the assistant manager Santiago from Argentina and the lady at the reception (name I did not find out) but she commented on my book (not easy to find people who read these days) and she gave me a hotel bookmark. Highly recommended. It is worth it to pay more and happiness is guaranteed.

Worst ritz imaginable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I stay at Ritz Carlton’s around the world. Have traveled to over 60 countries. This is the worst service I’ve ever seem. General disrespect from employees and especially their general managers who act like pompous, haughty jerks. When there is a problem they smirk like it’s amusing and not their problem. Their TVs do not work. When requesting any amenities - ice, room service, for IT assistance, the front desk actively ignores guest calls. Expect 30-40 minute wait times when trying to reach the front desk. Do not expect working WiFi or tv service in your room. Do not expect bell service - I loaded my own bags as the bell man watched me and then waited for a tip as I carried my own bags to my room (mind you, I’m a 30 year old female that weighs 110 lbs). I asked before I came if their pool and hot tub would be open. I was assured yes. Upon arrival I was informed their hot tub was closed for “two months” due to “maintenance”. When I asked why this wasn’t told to me when I asked this exact question, the manager essentially said “oops sorry.” They advertise a piano bar daily from “7-10”. Whenever I went during those hours a smug manager told me “I’d missed him.” Coincidentally even 9:40 pm. In short, expect low quality service while paying ritz rates

Great location. Could improve service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stated for 6 nights. Good location very close to metro (El Golf). Hop on hop off bus (stop 10) 3 min walk. Large room with lots of storage. International power points at the desk but usb ports wouldn't  connect. Great bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet. Great breakfast selections. However, the fresh orange juice was often quite bitter. It sits in the jugs on the sideboard for too long and as we know the longer it sits more bitter it gets. However  the restaurant  staff, particularly  Patricia, made me it fresh for me! Service was good at the reception, concierge & restaurant. Housekeeping needs to up its game. Once, one towel supplied was stained - this is a 5 star hotel. Called down to replace, never happened. The basin was not cleaned daily.

The service at the Ritz-Carlton Santiago was given with genuine warmth and consistency. It was exceptional from arrival to departing seven nights later. Every outing started and completed with enthusiastic doormen/valets, staff members in the executive lounge were engaging and interested. The housekeeping team were courteous, leaving a significantly clean room every time and always respected the privacy sign; they went above and beyond with a lovely bottle of champagne during the stay left. The rooms could do with a paint, it is old school comfort not from Milan interior design week however after many long walks returning to a luxuriously appointed little home away from home in such a spacious comfy room made for a totally enjoyable stay. Oh and the food! Dont forget to try their restaurant. We never eat at hotels, although on the last night decided to try it. The pricing is good and the overall experience factor…wow is the word. Great location in the city too safe and easy to walk off all the great Chilean cuisine you’ll eat. Thank you for a great stay.
