In the center of Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial, history, modernity and luxury come together as one at Billini Hotel. The building was once a guesthouse for members of the Dominican monastery and Sisters of Mercy convent during the 16th century. Today it stands as a beautifully restored architectural gem bridging the city’s Spanish Colonial past and cosmopolitan present, transformed into a boutique hotel with state-of-the-art comfort, just steps from vibrant shops, restaurants, clubs and Playa Montesinos.

It's reasonably nice and in a great location but basic stuff didn't work at this hotel. Calling room service or the front desk got no answer so I had to go down to the first floor every time. The hot tub was not hot despite two attempts by the hotel to fix the issue. The room key cards did not work, despite their reissuing them to me four times, and the part on the door had to be replaced. They took an hour to fix it while we were in the room waiting for them to leave and watching our room service order get cold. On the plus side, the restaurant food was decent and the massage was amazing. But if you have read posts about the hot tub not working and hoped that it was a one-off situation, no. Apparently, it never gets hot and is just eye candy to lure in customers with hopes of a nice hot soak that, sorry, you cannot have.

We stayed here for one night to explore Santo Domingo. The hotel is in the perfect location . We loved the service and our room was beautiful. We were on the first floor so we had very high ceilings and a little outdoor courtyard. We enjoyed the welcome drink and sitting at the pool watching the sunset. The staff are super nice and attentive. We would stay here again:)

My expectation was high after a friendly description i received from a friend. But at this level of price you expect almost a simple perfection: it was not, two main complaints the noise in the room coming from the swimming pool, for a while i was thinking about a seaside effect for relaxing… it was not plus the cleaning of the beautiful terrace, noisy again when you want to relax, then in a very short formulation a disappointing breakfast. Personal very nice and beautiful area.

Beautiful and cozy hotel in a great location. The staff are amazing, always willing to help with everything that you need, they made feel as I was at home. Breakfast was delicious and varied. I had a message in the SPA, and it was great. I really had a wonderful time in the Billini Hotel.

So far staff are great and room is clean but there is a dull loud noise and screams coming from a wedding party just beginning. I've stayed in a BH Hotel in the colonial zone in Bogota and it was good. So why not try in SD for my birthday knowing location. But already it is ruined by noise. We can't enjoy a meal in the restaurant for all the wedding revellers and it's not their problem. It is an inconsiderate management putting profit and noise over true boutique hospitality. And it is raining outside so everything is ruined. I hope tomorrow my birthday is better than this 'earplug' Sunday night. Shame on you owner.
