About the Hotel
Embracing a legacy of rich history dating back to the 15th century, Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel is located on the first paved road of the New World, Calle Las Damas, in the heart of Santo Domingo’s historic Zona Colonial, designated a UNESCO Heritage Site. Comprising three stone houses and courtyards built in 1502, the historic building was the very first to be built on the country’s colonial land and the home of the town’s founder and first Spanish governor of the Americas, Nicolas de Ovando, and his companion Christopher Columbus.

Welcoming, friendly and beautiful hotel.
We came for my sisters wedding, and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by both Francisco Ramirez and Edwin. They were so helpful, kind, professional and knowledgeable. Francisco, Edwin and the rest of the staff at Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando made our stay memorable, and they will be my favourite part of my time here!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Wonderful Family Wedding and Vacation
Beautiful hotel in the colonial district. Rooms were great and well maintained. Staff was wonderful, respectful, attentive and very very friendly. Wait staff were always smiling and front door staff always helpful, friendly and smiling!

My stay at Hodelpa Nicolas De Ovando
I had an amazing stay at Hodelpa Nicolas De Ovando. The front of house guys Edwin and Francisco Ramirez really contributed amazingly to my experience. They were warm and welcoming right from the begining and were extremely helpful. They made sure to say holà when they saw me walking in the halls and just made the experience overall super pleasant. I had an amazing stay and will definitely hope to be coming back again soon!

Great experience
It was a great time at the hotel! The staff were amazing and extremely kind and welcoming. Edwin and Fransisco were very warm and friendly! I highly recommend.
