Canaves Oia Suites

An exceptional stay from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, elegant, and truly deserving of its five-star rating, but what makes the experience truly special is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their professionalism combined with such a personal touch made us feel truly cared for throughout our stay. A wonderful experience that we would happily repeat and highly recommend!

Just returned from Canaves Oia Suites - and still reliving the magical experience! Our suite was absolutely stunning - with little complimentary gifts throughout our stay. Our balcony view was just surreal - it made it very hard to leave to explore further! Breakfast was incredible - trying items from the vast selection each morning was a delight - especially the ginger shots! Service was exemplary - nothing was too much trouble for the attentive and friendly staff, We enjoyed a wonderful couples yoga session and the fabulous Couples Awakening Massage - pure bliss! We booked a superior suite. The pictures online looked nothing like the room that we were given. It was upstairs downstairs, and the size of a closet. We brought this to the attention of management immediately. They told us that they just take different pictures and post them on the website. The next day at breakfast, we were approached and asked how we slept. We explained that we didn’t sleep. I have a bad back and it killed me to climb up the stairs that were really like a ladder and very steep in room 113. The resort management told us they would “upgrade “ our room, but we needed to check out of our room before noon, and our next room would not be ready until 1:00 or 130. We kept our valuables with us at the pool which wasted our morning because we had to repack, and wait at the hotel as we would not walk around with personal items. At 1:20, we went to the front desk to ask about our new room and we’re told it wasn’t ready. At 1:27, the manager advised us that it was the fault of the previous people because they checked out late. We explained that we had to meet for an excursion at 2:15, and wanted to be settled prior to that. At 1:45, we were escorted to what they told us was an upgrade to the honeymoon suite. While the room was nice, it was more along the line of what we booked in the first place, which was what was advertised on their website according to the pictures. They claimed this was a new suite which could not have been possible because it looked well used. The daybed pads were ripped, and there ants on the balcony which eliminated the possibility of sitting outside at night. Furthermore, we asked for extra towels the night before we left. We came back and there was a shopping bag with a few towels in it, left by our door. Throughout our stay, the water was never refreshed. Lastly, we did ask for baggage help the night before we checked out. Although we had declined it on WhatsApp previously, we did speak with the staff and had decided that since we were leaving at 6 AM, it would be best to have help since we would be leaving in the dark. The concierge did not show up at 5:55 as we requested. Close to 6 am, we started hauling our bags ourselves. He basically met us at the elevator and took them about 10 feet to the car. Lastly, we did spend time at the pool where the cabanas are. Unfortunately, people that were not sitting near us were bringing their drinks over and getting in the pool with them. The resort staff did not say anything to those people, even though some of the drinks were spilled in the pool. We escalated our concerns during and after our stay. We dealt with the manager and finally the owner. Our request was to ask the resort to refund our first night stay since it was basically bait and switch. We learned that when the owner emailed us back to offer us a partial credit us$800 and explained that they couldn’t move us the first night because the resort was sold out. We feel like the resort was dishonest, and we did not accept their partial refund although they’ve attempted to credit our card. We will be dealing with our credit card company to dispute the first night stay. If you book this hotel, and you don’t get the room that was pictured, I would recommend asking the resort immediately to cancel your reservation. This did not feel like a vacation. The actions of the staff at Canaves Oias caused us to have to solve problems instead of relax on a dream vacation. Santorini is a beautiful place with many first class five star resorts to choose from. This would not be one that I would give my money to again.

The Canavas Oia Suites were a dream come true. We went to Santorini to elope and Canavas Oia made the entire experience effortless and relaxing. They provided top tier service for everything we needed. The outstanding wedding planner they connected us to helped bring our vision to life and exceed our expectations. The room was very beautiful. Very private and secluded with jaw-dropping views. The location is right in the heart of Oia so many shops and restaurants are close by. The resort was very quiet, peaceful, and clean. All the amenities were in pristine condition. The spa was a wonderful experience. The room service and breakfast were delicious. They had fresh fruit every morning and the service was top tier. The value of staying at this resort is worth every penny and we can’t wait to come back to have another spectacular vacation.
