Reviews for Magma Resort Santorini - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week at Magma Resort. The hotel is thoughtfully designed and our suite was incredibly relaxing, with beautifully considered interiors that made it a pleasure to spend time in. However, what stood out the most was the staff. Consistently kind, attentive and thoughtful, with a real focus on detail. Their calm professionalism and efficiency made a real difference throughout our stay. A huge thanks to Sara and the whole team for making our holiday extremely relaxing and special. The spa was also a highlight of our stay. A peaceful with well-curated treatments, we were truly looked after by Villy, Pauline, and Eva, and have left feeling res and refreshed.

Exemplary Staff

Pulled up in a taxi and was met by 3 people...concierge,receptionist and the porter. Check in was quick. Was given an explanation of the facilities and then shown around by the concierge who then took us to our room. The hotel is 10mins or so outside Fira. A complimentary bus is available at certain times of the day. Best if you pre book. This also takes you to the local beach. The hotel is set within vineyards but not the nice neat rows of vines you may find elsewhere. These vines are more like shrubs dotted around. First thing you notice as you enter your room is the high ceiling. The furniture is modern..plenty of storage. There is a nespresso machine plus kettle. A fridge is in the room which you can have made up to a mini bar. The TV has about 4/5 channels in English...all news.A safe is also within the room. The bathroom has his/her sinks. Dressing gowns and slippers are supplied but I think the gowns could be more luxurious and a little larger to fit gentlemen. Outside we had a small pool with two sun loungers...with thick mattresses. The pool was cleaned and tested every day. The pool area boasts the longest infinity pool (maybe 50mts) on Santorini but it is narrow (maybe 3/4mts). There are approx 30 sunloungers by the pool all with thick mattresses. Never had any "sun bed wars" here. Always seemed to be beds available. Great views toward the sea.I did find the music played at the bar here a bit 'clubby' at times with a constant 'thump thump thump' beat. Not my taste. I wonder if it is the choice of the bar tender as to the choice of music. Breakfast (served 7am-11am) was very good. Coffee was freshly made by the barista. Tea was available to help yourself. Food was nicely laid out. The food was the usual type of stuff...fresh fruits, yogurts, continental, pastries, hot food, breads, cereals. They only seemed to have orange juice as a choice...no apple or pineapple. Al a carte was also available at a cost. All food tried was very good. Lunch and dinner are served in the same area.Lunch 11am-7pm and dinner from 7pm. The menus are not overly extensive. I think the chef is aiming towards the 'fine 'dining end of the spectrum. The food we ordered was tasty...although I felt the portions could have been larger. One evening I had a pasta dish and whilst tasty I felt it was only just bigger than a starter dish...I am not a big eater. But you don't have to eat here. The village above the hotel has some nice restaurants and the hotel is happy to book you a table. Did not use the spa facilities so cannot comment. I understand the steam room and pool are free to use. Spa treatments cost extra and paid directly to the spa. OK. Now to the staff. Wow. Highly trained and efficient and friendly. If you passed any staff they would ask if they could be of assistance or ask how your day has been. The wait staff in the restaurant always smiling and efficient and polite. I couldn't single out one member of staff above another. The staff have been properly trained!!! A good command of English is probably a high requirement for recruitment here. Overall an excellent stay

Superb hotel.

Such a fabulous hotel. Can’t fault the entire experience at this resort. From the minute we were collected from the airport to leaving, all staff were warm and welcoming. Customer service was superb with a brilliant WhatsApp messaging system that was answered in seconds, providing everything that was asked. Our room was huge either a large plunge pool that we spent a lot of time relaxing around and in. Room service was unobtrusive and done to a high standard. The hotel is a masterpiece of architecture reminding us of the volcanic nature of the island- reminded us of a James bond baddies lair. The selection for breakfast was extensive and was a treat every morning along with the champagne. Our dinner here was worthy of winning many awards with my sea bass cooked to perfection. Nothing was any trouble and all staff were friendly and great to chat with. The main pool area with a huge bar area was picturesque with its large infinity pool and plenty of sun beds for all. I’d return in a heartbeat. Thank you all for making our stay an absolutely memorable one. The hotel is perfectly situated mid way between the beach side and cliff side of Santorini. Fira only a 15 minute drive away and Oia 20. A special mention to two local restaurants within walking distance are Liminaki taverna with delicious freshly caught seafood and Aidani where we had a delicious meal with many locals.

Paulina and Villy were absolutely lovely. The treatment I received at Magma Resort spa was 5 star. I received a facial and full body massage and left feeling extremely relaxed and rejuvenated. Worth coming back 100%.
