Reviews for Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo

Excellence may be achieved. Enduring excellence is exceedingly rare.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Some hotels impress during a first stay. Far fewer earn the distinction of remaining consistently exceptional over decades. Grand Hyatt São Paulo unquestionably belongs to the latter category. Its recent renovation has refreshed the structure, but wisely left untouched what truly matters: understated elegance, quiet sophistication, and above all, impeccable hospitality. Renovating a building is relatively straightforward; preserving a culture of excellence is considerably less so. I have been returning to this hotel for many years. During that time, I can recall remarkably few occasions on which I did not feel genuinely welcomed. Why write this review only now? Because certain tributes deserve the perspective that only time can provide. Sentiment aside, however, an objective assessment is only fair. Situated in São Paulo’s contemporary financial district, the location is both one of its strengths and, arguably, its only limitation. It is ideal for business travellers, though perhaps less convenient for those intending to devote their visit exclusively to sightseeing. This is geography rather than criticism. The property itself is almost self-contained. With outstanding spa facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, a well-equipped fitness centre, sauna, and several excellent dining venues, leaving the hotel often feels optional rather than necessary. The lively lobby, frequently accompanied by live musical performances, maintains an atmosphere that is sophisticated without ever becoming theatrical. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, luxurious with admirable restraint, and maintained to the highest standard. Housekeeping is impeccable. Crisp white linens, wonderfully comfortable bedding, and a mattress seemingly designed to negotiate one more hour of sleep create an experience that is both indulgent and restorative. The bathroom deserves particular recognition. It is less a bathroom than a private bathing salon, complete with separate shower, generous bathtub, expansive walk-in wardrobe, and proportions worthy of a true master suite. The choice of Granado amenities—one of Brazil’s most distinguished heritage brands—adds a refined and unmistakably Brazilian touch. Breakfast is executed with remarkable confidence. It possesses the abundance of a banquet while retaining the elegance of fine hospitality. Whether one’s preference is for simplicity or gastronomic refinement, every expectation is comfortably exceeded. Ultimately, however, the hotel’s greatest luxury is neither marble nor architecture, but its people. Across every department, the staff consistently display warmth, professionalism, discretion, initiative and effortless competence. Buildings may inspire admiration; people inspire loyalty. Ah, Grand Hyatt São Paulo… Please accept these words as a tribute to a relationship built over many years. This is not nostalgia, nor courtesy for courtesy’s sake. It is simply the acknowledgement of something genuinely uncommon: the ability not merely to achieve excellence, but to preserve it year after year.

My second home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel always go beyond my expectations. I was in a trip with family and friends, so we had several rooms booked for this big group. All guests were very happy with their stays. Rooms are large and well maintained. Quiet, although close to busy streets.Friendly staff ready to help you if any issue. Concierge was very good. Rooms and common areas are always clean. The Club Lounge in the 20th floor offers decent breakfast and light dinner and drinks in the late afternoon. But the hotel also have others good restaurants and bar in the reception area, with a good vibe and lively. Definitely, I will return there. It is my second home!

Simply not 5 stars !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, on a business trip to South America. Having just arrived from Rio de Janeiro, I was really not impressed with this hotel. The rooms and decor are very tired, sockets falling off the wall etc. The staff, whilst polite, were not exactly friendly. The breakfast, for a 5* hotel, was nothing special and overpriced! The restaurant staff were overwhelmed and I had to wave several times to get a coffee and again for a refill.

Best customer experience ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This was the best customer experience we ever had with our Hyatt stays. Everyone who helped us was extremely courteous. Daniela at the Club Access, Nathalia and Estela went above and beyond with our requests and that made our experience even better.
