Hotel Sosei Sapporo – MGallery Colleciton is a 21st-century reinterpretation of a Sapporo pioneer’s residence. A living tribute to the city’s heritage where past meets present, East meets West, and timeless sophistication meets modern comfort. The hotel features 118 rooms and suites. In tribute to the city’s pioneer legacy, the guest rooms embrace the essence of Japanese-Western fusion, creating comfortable spaces where distinctive features from both worlds harmoniously coexist.
Sapporo, the birthplace of Japanese beer, continues this legacy today. While references to this tradition can be found throughout the hotel, it is in the restaurant that you can truly explore this universe. In this gastronomic eatery, the decoration is inspired by old German breweries. On the menu? Locally influenced culinary dishes with international twists, as well as a wide selection of fish purchased at the fish auctions in the sprawling city market – an age-old practice still appreciated today.

We came to Hokkaido for skiing with our children from late March to early April, and chose to stay at this Accor hotel for a total of seven nights. Today is already our fifth day, and I have to take advantage of a quiet moment during Happy Hour to write about this wonderful experience. First of all, the location is excellent – right across from Sapporo Factory. It's very convenient for shopping, dining, and accessing the shuttle points to the ski resorts. We stayed in a twin room (room 417). Each bed is very large and can easily accommodate two people. The overall room space is generous – even with kids, luggage, and ski gear, we never felt cramped. The room decor is fresh, well-maintained, and has a modern feel, making our stay very comfortable. The service from the staff is definitely a highlight. From the front desk to the restaurant, every single staff member is friendly and helpful. We came for dinner several times, and although the restaurant isn't large, the service was very attentive – they even recognized us! That feeling of being remembered is truly heartwarming. The hotel also offers many thoughtful little touches: free bottled water at the main entrance to grab before heading out, and a coffee machine with tea bags in the room – perfect for a quick drink before hitting the slopes. The breakfast is highly recommended. While the selection isn't huge, every item tastes great, and the dining environment is comfortable. Both adults and kids truly enjoyed having breakfast here every day. As an Accor Gold member, I also got a 30% discount – an excellent value. Additionally, Happy Hour runs daily from 3 PM to 7 PM – a great chance to relax with a drink after skiing. For parents traveling with kids, it's an absolute lifesaver (laughs). Although skiing with children can be really tiring, the comfort and service at this hotel helped us fully unwind. We have two days left before heading home, and both adults and kids are hoping to make the most of our remaining time at the hotel. We've already decided – we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Hokkaido for skiing next year! Special thanks to Hana san , Melanka san and the manager at bar (an uncle ), who have been helping us throughout our stay 🩷 我們在三月下旬至四月初帶著小朋友來北海道滑雪,選擇入住這間 Accor 旗下的酒店,一共住了七天。

Room: Excellent Front desk staff: Excellent Location: Average Dining: The food was excellent, and the service was excellent overall, except for one staff member. One small, slim Japanese staff member (possibly a manager) appeared to be drunk and was shouting angrily at a subordinate in front of guests. It is unacceptable to witness what seemed like workplace harassment in front of customers. As a result, our Christmas dinner was very uncomfortable and left us with a bad feeling.

Hotel Sosei delivered a genuinely thoughtful and well-rounded stay. The service stood out immediately—warm, attentive, and consistent. A special mention to the lounge team: our younger boy has medical needs and uses an NGT, yet the staff engaged with him daily with such ease, respect, and sincerity. He was never treated as “different,” only included as much as possible, and that level of care meant more to us than words can capture. The bartender deserves credit as well—excellent drinks, confidently made. We also kept returning to the miso ramen; simple, comforting, and very well executed. We opted to upgrade our room, and the additional space made a meaningful difference to our comfort and overall enjoyment. Location-wise, the hotel is well placed—close to malls and the main shopping street, making it easy to get around. The breakfast buffet wasn’t the most extensive, but the quality was good and thoughtfully curated—more than sufficient to start the day well. Overall, a hotel that pairs quality with humanity. We would happily return and highly recommend Hotel Sosei.

After a long road trip around Hokkaido, we came back to Sapporo for a few nights back in the urban jungle to relax and do some shopping. The Hotel Sosei was chosen for the reviews and also the location, walking distance to the shopping areas. The Hotel: Very uniquely designed and very appealing, which stands out from the rest of the hotels in Sapporo. It was pretty easy to find and the staff were all super welcoming and helpful. Although the lobby is small, the hotel is actually spread out and not cramped. On the first floor is a relaxed bar that also doubles as the executive lounge, serving drinks and canapés in the late afternoon/early evening. The Room: A good size and big enough for two people to spread out and open luggage etc. the kind bed was softer than other hotels but the pillows and duvet were perfect. We both appreciated the USB C points either side of the bed. The bathroom was really nice and the separate shower and bathtub were great. Overall, we slept well and had a very cosy stay. Breakfast was more western than Japanese - not a complaint at all - and the quality was very good indeed. The tea/coffee selection was jolly good and overall food quality was very high. I’d recommend including the breakfast if you can. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re needing some luxury in a good location in downtown Sapporo.
