About the Hotel

Hotel Sosei Sapporo – MGallery Colleciton is a 21st-century reinterpretation of a Sapporo pioneer’s residence. A living tribute to the city’s heritage where past meets present, East meets West, and timeless sophistication meets modern comfort. The hotel features 118 rooms and suites. In tribute to the city’s pioneer legacy, the guest rooms embrace the essence of Japanese-Western fusion, creating comfortable spaces where distinctive features from both worlds harmoniously coexist.

Sapporo, the birthplace of Japanese beer, continues this legacy today. While references to this tradition can be found throughout the hotel, it is in the restaurant that you can truly explore this universe. In this gastronomic eatery, the decoration is inspired by old German breweries. On the menu? Locally influenced culinary dishes with international twists, as well as a wide selection of fish purchased at the fish auctions in the sprawling city market – an age-old practice still appreciated today.

Cosy stay in downtown Sapporo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

After a long road trip around Hokkaido, we came back to Sapporo for a few nights back in the urban jungle to relax and do some shopping. The Hotel Sosei was chosen for the reviews and also the location, walking distance to the shopping areas. The Hotel: Very uniquely designed and very appealing, which stands out from the rest of the hotels in Sapporo. It was pretty easy to find and the staff were all super welcoming and helpful. Although the lobby is small, the hotel is actually spread out and not cramped. On the first floor is a relaxed bar that also doubles as the executive lounge, serving drinks and canapés in the late afternoon/early evening. The Room: A good size and big enough for two people to spread out and open luggage etc. the kind bed was softer than other hotels but the pillows and duvet were perfect. We both appreciated the USB C points either side of the bed. The bathroom was really nice and the separate shower and bathtub were great. Overall, we slept well and had a very cosy stay. Breakfast was more western than Japanese - not a complaint at all - and the quality was very good indeed. The tea/coffee selection was jolly good and overall food quality was very high. I’d recommend including the breakfast if you can. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re needing some luxury in a good location in downtown Sapporo.

Great location and wonderful service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed here for the second time in 3 months. I love the location. The hotel is in between Sapporo station and Susukino. The hotel is so serene and peaceful, a perfect place to relax. Opposite the hotel was Sapporo factory, which has some shops, restaurants and supermarket. Which was super convenient. I was checking in by the new staff called Mr.Boss. He was very efficient and capable. He took such a good care of us like we were family for the rest of our stay. In my opinion he is an asset to the team. The concierge Akkio San was very helpful with my online order and Mr. Hiro at the bar was very generous and helpful to us as well. It’s impossible to mention everyone by name but all the staff are wonderful, most of them remember our family. Very impressed. Wish to see them again.

Excellent Stay in Sapporo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Hotel location is around 15 minutes walk to Sapporo station and also the Odori Park. The hotel has very nice lobby area and check in was processed very fast by the front desk staff. This hotel offer complimentary drink for elite member every afternoon in the hotel bar which is a very nice benefit. The deluxe room is quite spacious for the bedroom area with large bed and lots of area to place belongings and suitcases. But, the bathroom area is small and it can feel tight when having shower. Breakfast served in the main restaurant was very good with plenty of delicious choices from main course, pastries and drinks. The breakfast options are rotated daily so it will not to boring if staying for few nights. Service throughout the hotel was very friendly and they responded to every request fast. Overall I was very satisfied with this stay and will come back again

Fantastic, the best service ever..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

From the outside you could be forgiven in thinking this is a normal hotel, it’s not.. from the moment we stepped inside to see the wonderful decor our stay was perfect. It’s a little out of town, but only a short walk to the action. The breakfast buffet was excellent, we looked forward to being greeted by the lovely staff each morning, especially Sara. The staff really do go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable, from Nabin on reception to Mai Christine, everyone was so lovely.

THE TRUE MEANING OF HOSPITALITY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

This hotel is just stunning. The decor, whilst it is a lot, melds beautifully. It is very impressive. Our room (a suite) was so beautiful, we could have spent our entire holiday in it. The breakfast certainly had something for everyone and the staff were just a delight. The evening cocktail hour in the bar was very good. A great selection of beverages to choose from and delicious choice of canapés. The stunning decor continues in this area and there is even an elegant fireplace in the room. A huge thanks to Hiro (our hero) from the bar for his assistance and guidance in relation to Japanese Whiskey. Even before we arrived at this hotel, we received emails confirming we had assistance if we needed it. We left there two days ago but are still raving. From the moment we arrived, to when we checked out, we received nothing but outstanding service. This hotel truly understands the meaning of hospitality. All staff introduced themselves to us from top management down. Thank you to everyone but kudos to Ted, Anthony & Akiko for making everything so special. Nothing was too much trouble. They were all very eager to ensure you made the best of your time whilst in Sapporo, and this came with history lessons and good recommendations. The design of the hotel attracted us but the staff have ensured we will come back.
