About the Hotel

Hotel Sosei Sapporo – MGallery Colleciton is a 21st-century reinterpretation of a Sapporo pioneer’s residence. A living tribute to the city’s heritage where past meets present, East meets West, and timeless sophistication meets modern comfort. The hotel features 118 rooms and suites. In tribute to the city’s pioneer legacy, the guest rooms embrace the essence of Japanese-Western fusion, creating comfortable spaces where distinctive features from both worlds harmoniously coexist.

Sapporo, the birthplace of Japanese beer, continues this legacy today. While references to this tradition can be found throughout the hotel, it is in the restaurant that you can truly explore this universe. In this gastronomic eatery, the decoration is inspired by old German breweries. On the menu? Locally influenced culinary dishes with international twists, as well as a wide selection of fish purchased at the fish auctions in the sprawling city market – an age-old practice still appreciated today.

Nice, Comfortable Stay, Friendly Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

From the moment we checked in through check-out, we were always greeted by the hospitable and friendly staff. They were very helpful and helped us arrange a taxi to the airport for an early morning flight. Shout out to Hiro, the bar lounge chief, who was very sociable and informative talking to use about the different types of Japanese whiskey and gin. Additionally, the ladies that were also working the bar area one afternoon were so so kind to help me with the latte machine, which wasn't working properly that day so one of them ran to the back and made me one. The staff made us feel welcomed and made our stay that more enjoyable. I also booked through AMEX since this property is part of their Hotel Collection so we had additional benefits as card members. Our room was nicely appointed and when we arrived we surprised to find a plate of tasty treats! Very thoughtful touch. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel, ok location

Nice hotel, a little quirky in decor which we liked. Breakfast was a buffet, with lots of options both traditional Japanese dishes and more international cuisine. A bit pricey honestly which surprised us. The location is ok. It’s across the street from the Sapporo factory which is basically a large discount shopping mall. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the Sapporo train station as well as local sites and restaurants we wanted to visit. Our rooms were fine. Overall a nice place, however If we were to do it again I would choose to stay to a hotel closer to the places we were interested in visiting.

The Hotel Sosie exceptionally clean, comfortably luxurious & very wonderful staff/ service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It's a beautiful, stylish hotel, which is exceptionally clean. But then even the trucks & cars are gleaming clean in Sapporo. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the additions to the room like the kettle was a pleasure to use, well designed and cyratdd. The in room additions of a woodsn comb, razor, toothbrushes, sewing kits...loved being well looked after. Very relaxing atmosphere. The wonderful staff — everyone is warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Our expensive rental car, while we're in our way Furano the rear view window just fell out! We were on a speeding highway, and it was not safe to drive this way. We couldn't connect with the rental agency because they had a limited phone plan- they could not get international calls, and we had American numbers. We called the hotel to explain the situation They ( Ms Kana) immediately stepped in, had the agency call us BACK! The hotel operates as an Art Gallery. The lobby, the walls & every floor has displays I'm grateful to have stayed here!

Wonderful hotel in Sapporo!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We are just about to check out after spending a week at this hotel. It has been truly excellent. The welcome was warm and this continued throughout our stay. The service is second to none, a special mention for Peter-san and his concierge colleague who helped us organise an onsen trip online and were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has been designed and decorated beautifully. The bathroom is wonderful with a fantastic shower and towels/linens high quality. The location is quiet but you are only 15 mins walk to the main station and centre of the city. There are no improvements we can suggest! It’s a wonderful place to stay.

Great & Sexy hotel worth staying at!

This was definitely one of the highlights of this trip to Sapporo...... The location is not very central or downtown, which adds to the appeal of experiencing less of the touristy hassle and bustle, and giving it a more local feel. It is a bit of a walk to get to the shopping street & Sapporo station, but for people who don't mind walking this won't be a problem. There is also an old building with a brewery across the street, as well as a shopping mall, movie theater and supermarket. Upon entering the front door, staff greet guests friendly and sincerely, and this continues through out the check in process. I noticed employees from different nationalities & backgrounds, which leans to various languages being spoken by staff at this hotel. The vibe and ambience of this hotel is dark & moody, which I love. The decor and interiors are trendy with various Japanese pieces displayed throughout the hotel. Check in was quick & easy and we made our way up to the room. The room was not huge, but by Japanese standards a decent size and big enough for a couple for a few nights. The room comes with all the regular amenities like toiletries, drinking water, deposit box.... The bar area and dining room was really nicely decorated, giving it charm and personality. The breakfast did not have a huge selection of dishes like some other hotels, but there was still more than enough choice, with a lot of the ingredients locally sourced. It was a very enjoyable stay with friendly staff, good design and decorations, good breakfast and good value for money.
