Panoramic views of the sparkling San Francisco Bay and verdant Marin headlands are the centerpiece of Cavallo Point Lodge – part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Entrenched in rolling hilltops bordering the Pacific ocean, this former US Army post harbors an exclusive location with unique amenitites. Originally built as Fort Baker in the early 1900s, historic lodgings were once military barracks during World War II. Ideally located at the northern tip of the Golden Gate Bridge, minutes to San Francisco hot spots, the quaint town of Sausalito, and incredible national parks; enjoy the ease of exploring the bay from the center of it all. Not only are accommodations beautiful and rare, this hotel is also a LEED Gold certified eco-resort.

This was my first time to the West Coast as an East Coast native, and Cavallo Point was the perfect way to kick off our trip! It is the ideal distance from the city and the views of the bridge / downtown from the property were beautiful. It was such a comfortable stay - from staff moving our bags to our rooms while we were out exploring during the day to falling into the morning routine of enjoying pastries and coffee on the porch of the historic buildings and watching the fog clear over the bay. Having been jet lagged from our travels, we ate at the property's restaurant quite a few times and the food was amazing each time. The pomegranate chicken salad was the perfect post-flight lunch, and we had a fantastic 'girl dinner' of appetizers and cocktails (our waiter was amazing as well!) We spent most of the days exploring the city, but coming back to the room at the end of the day was a highlight - the robes were so cozy, bath products smelled amazing, and the Dyson hairdryer was definitely a plus. Our suite was spacious, with an entryway, primary bedroom, twin room, and a sitting area with views of the lawn - ideal for our family of 4. I would definitely recommend Cavallo Point for anyone looking for a homey yet understated luxury experience!

Beautiful location- very tranquil and relaxing as a getaway. The staff and service is top-notch and really stands out. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy with the electric fireplace in the chilly weather. The food at Sula was also delicious. Highly recommend the lodge!

Cavallo Point has been the perfect venue for our Customer Advisory Board (CAB) for the past three years. We host ~40 customers each time, and the experience is consistently exceptional. The setting is one of a kind, and the service is always excellent, but I want to give a special shoutout to Khawla, our event bartender, who once again went above and beyond. She delivers warm, attentive service and truly elevates the experience during our networking and social moments. Thank you, Khawla, and thank you to the entire Cavallo Point team!

Cavallo Point is a wonderful place to visit. The beauty of the grounds with the views of the Golden gate Bridge and the scent of eucalyptus make it a memorable place. Don't miss getting a massage at the Wellness Center and bring your bathing suit to take advantage of the outside heated meditation pool. Breakfast and dinner at Sula are delicious and there's fun shopping at The Mercantile. It is a great place for a local getaway. You can borrow the electric bikes to cycle into Sausalito and I recommend the five mile round trip hike to Kirby Beach.
