Reviews for Cavallo Point Lodge

A great place if you can afford it

A lovely hotel in a wonderful location. A bit pricey but all is first class. Worth a visit to the spa. I had a great facial. There are nice paths to walk the property and the views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge are fabulous.

Cavallo Point - Upscale amenities and lodging with first rate staff to boot

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had a wonderful time during the three nights we stayed at Cavallo Point in the Historical Loft. The furniture matched the classic look and feel of the historic building but with modern touches. The staff were friendly and accommodating and timely with our requests and in room dining orders. We will definitely come again and again after this first occasion staying in this wonderful hotel.

Beautiful outdoor resort just over the Golden Gate

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is a lovely resort just over the Golden Gate in Sausalito. The views are amazing, and it feels very removed from the San Francisco, yet it is minutes away. We appreciated being able to meet friends for dinner in downtown SF at night (via Uber) and having great access to Muir Woods and rest of Marin during the weekend. Our rooms in the newer part of the resort were very large and super-comfortable. The bathroom was great, the fireplace was very cozy, and being able to hear the sounds of the bay as we woke up was really cool. We enjoyed a very good breakfast both in the restaurant and via room service (included as part of AMEX FHR rate). The staff are great, especially the valets and restaurant folks. Only slight complaint is that landscaping could use a slight bit of care, but the location is stunning. We really felt like we were at a remote hide-away, yet were so close to town.

Avoid the spa if you value your health

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Avoid the spa at all costs. Yikes. Just yikes. Avoid if you value your health. This is a profit-over-people money factory that has no regard for wellness (read the reviews - the one where they charged a woman for a missed appointment because she almost lost her baby - and possibly life - to preeclampsia and had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency c-section is particularly remarkable). Blech. Don’t give these people your money. My less dramatic story is that after falling ill and giving the spa 8 hours notice that I had a cough and fever and needed to cancel an appointment that afternoon, I was called five hours later by the spa and told I would have to pay for the appointment due to their 24 hour cancellation policy. When I asked to reschedule I was told that would not be possible. When I asked the manager, Kaitlin, if I should come with a fever and cough to avoid being charged for a service I didn’t receive she said that that was my “choice.” When I asked her to explicitly clarify that she was saying I could come in with a cough and fever and expose her staff and clients to this she said that was my “choice.” So, bottom line, this “healing arts center” seems to have a very lax attitude towards protecting their practitioners’ and clients’ health. And takes a fairly unreasonable position in terms of accommodating schedule changes caused by illness (or possibly losing a baby). Neither of these fall into anything I’d look for in a wellness center and my strong advice would be to avoid what appears to be little more than a tourist bait and profit driven resort spa. We have so so SO many better options in San Francisco and I’d strongly recommend supporting one of those independent centers.
