The Inn Above Tide

We had the most incredible stay at Inn Above Tide in Sausalito. We were upgraded to the City Lights Spa Suite, and it was honestly the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. We’ve traveled quite a bit, and this felt special in a way that’s hard to put into words. The views from the deck are unparalleled, looking out over San Francisco, the bay bridge, the golden gate bridge, and Alcatraz. We spent a lot of time sitting out on the deck taking it all in. The room itself was beautiful with everything you could want, from heated bathroom floors and plush robes to luxury bath products and a cozy fireplace. There were lots of small touches that made it feel very special, like the binoculars for the views and other thoughtful details throughout. Everything felt high-end but still very warm and comfortable. We also really appreciated the included delicious breakfast, all day coffee and tea, and the wine and cheese hour. The location is perfect, right on the water in the heart of Sausalito. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the stay even better. It truly felt like a once in a lifetime getaway. We honestly didn’t want to leave.

I am sitting at the hotel right now. Looking out at a beautiful view of San Francisco and Alcatraz. The weather is amazing, the hotel is amazing. The only negative i could possibly find is the shower. If you are short, in any way or have a accessibility issue, there is a very high step down to get into the shower. It is a shower tub combination. It is very hard to maneuver if you are short. But other than that, there is absolutely nothing bad to say. The staff are amazing, the view is amazing, the bed are amazing, the breakfast is amazing and the wine and cheese service is amazing. Sausalito is one of my all time favorite places to visit, the ferry is right next to the hotel, so access to San Francisco is easy. Spend the extra money for this small boutique hotel, you won't be sorry.

This is really a lovely hotel. Not trendy, not stuffy, not pretentious. But clean, comfortable, with exceptional service. We loved the breakfast every morning. And the views of the city are quite remarkable! We will be back.

I took my family to Sausalito and The Inn Above Tide to celebrate my mother’s 80th Birthday. The rooms were perfect, offered a stunning view of the SF Bay, the city, angel island. The location is perfect, its a 1-2 minute walk from all the shopping and restaurants. And about an 10 minute drive to Ft Baker, the GGNRA, and the bridge. They offered a late checkout which was nice, and we were able to keep our car parked until later in the afternoon, allowing us another day of enjoying beautiful Sausalito. The entire staff is cheerful and provides a level of service that you may not find at larger, corporate owned hotels. We have visited several times and will continue to come back!

Located on the waterfront in Sausalito, California. Boutique hotel with pleasant architecture. The room is tastefully appointed. Luxury value with great views of the Bay.
