Room 1203 had a toilet that would not turn off. Maintenance arrived couldn’t fix. Already unpacked and dressed for bed. Called front desk got a new room. No fridge, no microwave, no free breakfast. Awful parking 60.00 for two days. Won’t recommend or come back. Hampton Inn way better and less expensive.

The only glitch that kept me from giving this hotel 5 stars was somebody was in the room they gave us even though we used the pre check in feature. But when I went back to the desk, the lady apologized and gave us a better room on a higher floor. Also, the front desk at 4 pm during the prime check in time should have more than 1 person. A little chaos with some conference attendees regarding the valet parking is what I gleaned while I was trying to get the correct room. Overall, everything else from room cleanliness to the staff was excellent and 5 star, including the quality, delicious breakfast restaurant at the 1540 and the bar. G J, our hostess at 1540 was super, simply the best. So knowledgeable and friendly about the area and sincerely cared about our stay. Paired with the concierge desk they can’t be topped as assets for this hotel. The valet guys were also awesome, as was Scott in the bar, who provided great service and football conversation earning 5 stars as well. The DeSoto is in the best location and area to explore Savannah.

The construction noise during the day was terrible. I didn’t get the discount for not getting room cleaning. The bar closed too early each night. The AV guy for our conference was good but kept running away and we had to go find him a lot. The sink in my room was clogged and filled up with water. The tv remote did t work well. It wasn’t a bad stay but it could have been better. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were too.

The beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms were clean, except for handprints on the windows. The negative which is exclusive to probably our time period, we were put onto the 8th floor with construction occuring on the 9th floor. This resulted in us having to move rooms mid stay because we could not handle the hours of jack hammering during the day, and nobody asked if we were OK with construction noise during check in that would have prevented the inconvenience of repacking and moving our luggage. The 2nd issue we ran into was the key cards for the entire hotel did not work for the first 24 hours of our stay, so security would have to escort you to your room to let you in. A small inconvenience, but a bigger deal when you're waiting a couple of minutes for someone to let you into your room when you have to use the bathroom. The elevators felt a little grimy like they haven't been cleaned in awhile. If the keywords worked at check in this would be 3 out of 5, and if we had been given the option to avoid being put right below the construction this would be 4 out of 5. We also bought the "rain insurance" which at the time of purchase stated "must rain for 3 hours between X-am and X-PM" but when the policy was sent to us, after payment, it stated "must rain for 6 hours between X-am and X-pm" so it was a bait and switch between what it said at booking and what was stated on the policy, only after payment was made of course. If the rain policy matched what was stated during booking and the other 2 items were corrected, this would be 5 outta 5. The staff were extremely nice and would be friendly to strike up conversation with, but the facility overall felt like it needed some help. Its the off season, and construction can only take place during certain times which I get, but not at full price, not without a discloser of it occuring before putting us in the room first, and no bait and switch with the "rain insurance."

Hotel was nice and staff was good. Room cleaning service was disappointing. Stayed for 3 nights . Came to clean room but sink was left as is. Restocking of supplies like coffee was not done. The only thing done was the bed comforter was straightened out. Trash was not taken out.
