We were guests for 4 nights at the DeSoto, which was the venue for a conference we attended. The best part about the Desoto is the location. The second best, their breakfast restaurant. It seemed they didn't have adequate housekeeping staff, so our room was only chambered once. The other days, I had to track down housekeeping on our floor to exchange towels. Our room was in need of a deep cleaning, and the furnishings were in need of replacement. The duvet didn't smell or look fresh. Water pressure varied greatly, and there were times when the water wasn't particularly hot. The room temperature didn't seem to cool down well, and it wasn't terribly hot weather. If you do stay, request a room far away from the elevators. Even with earplugs/earbuds, sleep quality was poor.

Excellent Choice For a Vacation Hotel

From the time we checked into this class hotel until we left, we could not have wished for a better experience. I won’t comment on the beds because that is such an individual choice. It would be meaningless; one person finds wonderful. Another person finds horrible. However, the room was very clean as were all the public spaces. we had two meals in their dining room, and both were top drawer. The staff in the bar were friendly, as were all of the staff. The concierge, Becky, was particularly helpful. The only complaint and it’s just a slight quibble, was that of the six days we stayed in the hotel our room had not been cleaned by 4 PM on 4 of the days. However, when we returned to the room on those days around 4 PM or shortly after, I’ll call to the front desk in the housekeeping staff attending to cleaning our room almost immediately. We were able to get half-price drinks at happy hour on those days while the housekeeper was busy cleaning our room, providing fresh towels, etc.

There is something special about Dominic that runs this companies valet service. I retired at 51. I was special. I had to ask him what would inspire young people to be like you in these days. He said tell them to never get comfortable. Keep moving forward. I believe this kid could be President one day. What a pleasure to meet him.

Great Location

The ice machine on our floor was broken so had to go to another floor. The ice vending machine was less than clean on both floors & also next to a storage rooms that were filthy. There are multiple places to shop & eat in the area, all within walking distance. We would stay again. The hotel is nice but be aware, parking is $45 daily. The only option is street parking that is not free until after 5:00 pm daily, and limited.
