Fantastic location to walk Savannah, but realy nice and helpful staff. Front desk, valet, room make up, hotel manager - everyone was great. Thank you

From driving up to checking out, the service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel itself is beautiful, in a great location for seeing historic Savannah. We had booked an Executive King room and found that we were upgraded to a lovely suite (the Grant!), so even better than we had expected. Much appreciated. Would definitely recommend for a luxury experience.

My overall experience was good but Valet service was EXCELLENT! 4 stars bc the elevator service was super slow since 3 elevators were not in service.

We stayed at the DeSoto for Labor Day weekend. Our first impression was the valet asking for a tip before we even gave him the keys to our vehicle. There was no concierge service or help to your room with luggage at check in or check out. Check in was seemless as we pre checked in on line. The front desk personnel were very friendly. The room was clean and resembled that of a low to mid priced chain hotel. Nothing special. The Iron was missing and when I addressed it as there was also a pre authorization charge of $150 for incidentals or room damage I was told not to worry about it as I wouldn’t be charged. There was also a business card on the dresser Essentially acting as a reminder to tip The maid service. This seemed odd as the hotel was also offering $10 a day credit toward food purchase not to have daily maid service. The bed was also extremely firm which for my husband and I was too firm and lent for sleepless nights. I don’t see us returning as there are so many unique lodging offerings in Savannah and unfortunately this felt like a very over priced holiday inn.
