1. At check in: ID was never checked nor credit card 2. Couldn’t gain access to room as door batteries were dead, instead of giving me a different room they sent me back up to wait out side my room for maintenance. I waited for over 25 min. 3. Shower head leaking majorly 4. At 7:30AM construction started above my room. So loud even with head phone on I couldn’t drown out the noise. Keep in mind I’m from Denver so this is 5:30AM my time. 5. Received a letter on first day that water was going to be shut off from 10PM to 3AM. 6. The 12 floor is covered in ceiling dust from what ever they are doing on the 13th floor. 7. The house keeper: when walking by a room this employee was cleaning she was sitting at the desk watching videos on her phone. I ran into her later that day and she is standing at her cart on her phone again. Maybe she was forced not to have her phone the facility might be cleaner. You put everything together and it’s not a place I would recommend to anyone nor want to stay at again.

Excellent location. Easy to walk everywhere. The room was comfortable. Beds and bedding were very nice. My only complaint is there was no fridge in the room. Which I wasn't expecting.

This hotel engages in false advertising. Sliding glass doors to the outside were all screwed shut in all room. They advertised hardwood floors and they are vinyl. They advertised marble bathtubs and they are plastic coded. Two days in a row I had to request my room cleaned. Terrible experience.

We spent two nights at the hotel for a wedding held on the premises. Based on the recent reviews, I was reticent. Based on a great rate at Travelzoo, I was willing to give it a try. As an Historic hotel, the rooms/bathrooms are on the small side. The wifi was wonky during our visit so I used my hotspot. The bed was very comfortable and the valet parking service was excellent. Overall, it was worth the $200 per night that I paid.

The location at De Soto Hotel is GREAT. You can walk to many of the sites. The Cathedral Basilica of St John, Historic Homes, St John's Episcopal Church to name some are minutes away and the Riverwalk is @15-20 minutes walk from the hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel and our room were clean. We used the valet service and it was worth it. Street parking and lots around could be more expensive than the valet. Shout out to Xavier, Curtis and Charles F. for doing a great job as valets. I think De Soto is a great find in the heart of Savannah!
