I rarely leave one-star reviews, but this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room and property are very run down and clearly in need of maintenance. There was visible mold in the shower, and we couldn’t even get consistent hot water. The pool was also closed during our stay, which was never disclosed when we booked. That was especially frustrating because it was one of the amenities we expected to be able to use and factored into choosing this hotel. The valet service runs 24/7 but multiple times throughout our stay there was no one available and we had to leave our keys with the front desk. This was frustrating, especially considering they don’t allow self parking. I understand that hotels can be older and things occasionally break, but there’s a difference between an older property and one that simply isn’t being properly maintained. Between the condition of the room, mold in the shower, lack of hot water, and an advertised amenity being unavailable without notice, this stay was nowhere near what we expected or paid for. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

We were disappointed that we were not made aware of the pool closure prior to arrival-it was one of the main attractions that brought us to your location. However-everything else was pretty spot on. The staff at this hotel is fantastic. Charlie F is one of the very best- with a spectacular welcome and smiling face the minute you enter and making sure you are “all set” each time you leave. He is truly an asset to this hotel!

I was very disappointed with a few things. First I’d like to address that I’m not one to leave a negative review. I would next like to address that the staff was phenomenal on all aspects making us feel prioritized. However, when I called before I booked, I was told I had to tell the front desk when I checked in to receive my military discount. Once I arrived to check in the lady at the front desk said I can’t receive the discount since I had already booked. Next, we specifically booked our stay at the DeSoto for the pool as an amenity we had full intention to utilize. When we checked in, after we had paid, it was brought to our attention that the pool was down due to annual maintenance. I fully understand that but that needs to be addressed before hand. Also, we got a room with a balcony on purpose. That’s what we wanted and spending time out there was the plan. We received a message asking us to not open the doors and put our A/C on auto. The room was hot, balcony was a bust, pool was non existent, discount was null and void. Overall a poor experience and I was highly unimpressed.

The gentlemen at the valet were the best part of the property! Friendly, hospitable, funny and extremely helpful. They were willing to help at all costs. Thank you to Charlie, DJ, Rondel and Gio :)
