Reviews for Hotel Bardo Savannah

Great new luxury gem in Savannah

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

New hotel with amazing service, nice, quiet location overlooking a lovely square. The hotel staff was kind and accommodating and our room was large, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I hope to come back and visit in the near future!

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Not Up To Expectations. The Hotel Bardo is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and based upon our stay it seems unlikely it will maintain that designation. Housekeeping is dreadfully inadequate. During our 4 day stay they came only once.

Bardo in Savannah!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Writing this review now because have been to two 5-star hotels since then and can’t help but compare the experience to Bardo. Beautiful room off the pool (saw some brave swimmers even though too cold for us). Dinner at St. Bibiana was delicious and lunch by the pool was much better than what one might expect. The staff was great. And beautiful Savannah is just outside to enjoy too.

Amazing Experience

The hotel was so lovely from the great location, rooms with pretty couches, the bathrooms with large soaking tubs, the delicious complimentary breakfast and the amazing cocktails. It was a great experience for us as a couple traveling with a toddler. We will return soon!

Pound for pound the worst hotel I've ever stayed at

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Let me walk you through our experience: Start with check in. Room isn't ready. Okay, it's a little early before the check in time, it happens. We'll grab lunch and come back. We went and explored Savannah and came back when our room was ready. We ask them to have the valet send up the bags. 5 minutes later, no bags. Ok, let's call the front desk. Phone doesn't work. At least the Masters is on, I'll just watch it while we wait. TV doesn't work. 10 minutes later, no bags. 15 minutes later, no bags. My wife needed something so decided to go down and get them. That took forever too. In the meantime someone arrived to fix the TV (which was strange because I didn't even report it broken). When he couldn't figure it out, he let us know he would change our rooms, bring our bags, etc. So we go to the bar by the pool to relax and enjoy the afternoon. The most inattentive bartenders I have ever seen. I must have sat at that bar by myself for 5-10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. When we decide to go back up to our room, we asked where our new room was. Nobody could tell us. One manager, two managers, nobody could tell us where our room was. They finally came to the conclusion our room hadn't been changed. The next morning at breakfast, see inattentive bartender comment above. It was a comedy of errors. Not one single thing was done right. Oh and by the way, the room wasn't even that good. Our windows looked directly into a rusty electrical transformer grid on the roof. I understood why the curtains were all closed when we got to the room as soon as I opened them. My advice to the owners of the Hotel Bardo: you will never amount to anything in this business. If you own this hotel, sell it immediately to someone compenent enough to run a $500 per night hotel. I guarantee if you do not, you will lose every dime you have invested into owning it. My advice to the managers of the Hotel Bardo: you will also never amount to anything in this business. Go back and get another degree, or go to France where your combination of rudeness and inhospitality is expected. My advice to anyone else: do not stay here. The operations of this hotel are so fundamentally flawed, the basics of running a hotel so thoroughly missing, the details completely ignored, you will not enjoy it. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
