Reviews for Thompson Savannah

Had a great sisters weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Beautiful rooms and hotel. We had a partial view of the river and could watch container ships go by. Dinner and breakfast in Bar Julian were tasty and decent priced. The shower pressure is amazing but the tiled shower and bathroom floor can be painful to bare feet. Probably good to prevent slips and falls though.

10/10 Experience Every Time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stay here every other week or so for work, and there truly is no other hotel I would choose in Savannah. From the moment you arrive, there is ample and convenient parking, which immediately sets the tone for a seamless stay. If you’re a regular guest, you’ll quickly have the pleasure of being greeted by Mr. Bernard—who deserves all the recognition and more. His ability to uplift your spirits and genuinely brighten your day is a rare gift, and one I hope he never loses. If you ever have the chance to spend a moment getting to know Bernard, you’ll understand why his presence is so special; his warmth and authenticity truly illuminate the entire experience. From there, one of my favorite happy-hour spots awaits, featuring an incredible $10 Belvedere martini with caviar and a perfectly crafted $5 espresso martini—both executed flawlessly. While enjoying a cocktail, you’ll likely meet the talented bartender, Mr. Justin. He’s knowledgeable, engaging, and a joy to talk with, offering great conversation and local insight. I’ll stop my rave here, but I must add: this hotel has the most comfortable beds in the downtown area, and the rooms are beautifully designed—warm, inviting, and thoughtfully styled. It’s a refreshing contrast to the cold, cookie-cutter modern décor so common today. Simply put, this hotel is exceptional.

Beautiful Stay, Breakfast Lost in Time.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It’s hard not to fall a little in love with the Thompson Savannah — the light, the calm, the quietly stylish corners. The staff is warm, the rooms feel like a deep breath, and even our four-legged family member was treated like royalty. The only cloud in the sunrise was breakfast… a beautiful mess of waiting for menus, then waiting for drinks, then waiting for food — long enough for breakfast to slowly drift into brunch. But beyond that hiccup, it’s a lovely stay in a perfect little pocket of Savannah. I’d come back — I’ll just pack a snack for the morning.😉

Decent hotel. Not a 4 star experience though

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

For a 4star property, I think it was just decent. Parking is on street that you have to renew before 8am each day. Download the app, if you don’t want to do it physically. Julian resturant is avoidable , specially for dinners. Packed and low on staff. Cocktails were okay, nothing to write home about. Breakfast was decent. Disinterested staff in general. Gym is pretty small. We didn’t try the pool, although it looked nice.
