This was a lovely hotel in a newer part of town. We were greeting with a welcome beer while music played in the adjacent bar area. The rooms were wonderfully spacious with separate living and bed rooms, and a mini bar (and actual bar) stocked with wine and spirits. The night was quiet (for a great sleep) with a comfortable bed. The roof top bar was a fantastic place to have a cocktail and watch the barges go down the river and the restaurant downstairs was remarkably good in both service and tasty food. I would absolutely stay again.

We were excited to stay at the Thompson Savannah, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. First, we were very dissatisfied with the overwhelming number of dogs present throughout the hotel. We understand it’s a pet-friendly property, but it felt excessive and poorly managed. Shockingly, a dog even jumped on us while we were checking in at the front desk — not exactly the welcome we expected from a luxury hotel. Additionally, the valet service was incredibly slow and frustrating. For the price being charged, you’d expect prompt and efficient service, but that was not the case. Speaking of price — the overall cost of staying here simply doesn’t match the value. The amenities are average at best and not worth the premium you’re paying. At the end of the day, you’re mostly paying for the location near the river, not for any elevated hospitality or unique offerings. We won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it for those seeking a relaxing, upscale stay in Savannah.

Super nice and new property with exceptional staff. Loved the design of the room and other areas. We swam in the pool which is small and clearly more of a hip/clubby vibe, but in the afternoon with a kid it was fine and relaxed. The restaurant had lovely food at dinner, although on the pricey side. The lobby area is very hip, a place I actually wanted to spend time. Breakfast on the roof was great. The location is pretty good, right on the river walk so even though it feels a bit removed from the historic area, it was walkable (though we didn't walk because it was super hot). I believe there are bikes to rent which I would do next time.

One of the nicest Hyatt-affiliated hotel's I've ever stayed at in the US. Great service, beautiful hotel and amazing location on the Savannah River. The rooftop bar was amazing for drinks and dinner, as well as breakfast. Staff was amazing and the place is super clean and modern. Even have bikes to use if you want to go for a ride.

I love the Thompson Hotel. This is my second time staying and have already booked my third stay. The hotel staff is top-notch, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Chas the hotel’s valet manager was very helpful with a dinner suggestion to the Green Truck Neighbor Pub. I love the hotel’s house car allowing me to go out without having to worry about parking. The laidback atmosphere on the river makes this my favorite hotel in Savannah.
