Beautiful property in the heart of downtown Savannah. Not a whole lot around since the area is being developed but still, very pretty. Unfortunately flight got in late so I didn’t get to experience much in my one night stay, but made the start of my vacation excellent

We had an enjoyable stay overall at the Thompson Savannah. The standout was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered—from the front desk at check-in to the valet team—was welcoming, professional, and eager to help. We also appreciated the complimentary house car service, which will take guests within a three-mile radius when available. We were able to use it once, and it was a wonderful convenience. Breakfast service was warm and friendly, though a bit slower than I would have preferred since I was eager to get out and explore each morning. The biggest disappointment was the pool. It’s quite small, and by the afternoon it became very murky from sunscreen and heavy use by families with children. It didn’t feel inviting enough to use. The location is pleasant and along the river, but it is a bit of a walk to many of Savannah’s main attractions. In the summer heat and humidity, that distance can feel longer than expected. Despite those drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay. The exceptional service and hospitality made a positive impression, and we would consider staying here again.

Beautiful hotel... great staff and within walking distance to most things that Savannah has to offer. We can't wait to return.

My experience with the front desk was extremely disappointing. Due to a hotel error, I was incorrectly overcharged nearly $900. Unfortunately, no one was able to resolve the issue during my stay, and it wasn’t corrected until after I had checked out and returned home. The financial impact overshadowed my entire trip. Each morning, I woke up to additional charges hitting my account, even after I was assured my card had been removed from the hotel’s system. While the hotel eventually waived my incidental charges, it felt like an afterthought rather than a genuine effort to make things right. I also emailed both the Finance Director, Chase Hayley, and Assistant Director Alex regarding the matter, but neither responded. Although I finally received my refund the day after checkout, the lack of communication, accountability, and timely resolution left a lasting negative impression. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment. I certainly appreciate Mark and Sarah (I believe it’s her name) who worked extensively to correct the error. Diane DOES NOT have the front desk capability. Nice, but needs training. Mekhi and the entire House car staff were awesome! My Thompson Savannah experience.
