We came to Savannah to celebrate our 20th anniversary and decided on the Thompson because it was on the quiet side but still close enough to the action. The team here is exceptional and I’d like to personally thank Amanda, McKayla, Kevin, Justin and the lovely bartenders at both the pool and Bar Justin. They made our stay so comfortable and memorable. They really went above and beyond with the hospitality. We had a small hiccup with our room regarding housekeeping but it was quickly resolved. As first timers we wanted as many tips as possible and trust and believe that Amanda came thru with that. Make sure to get her map and then plan for a nap once you get through it! We loved using the free ride service and Justin was great in sharing his insights to the city. Kevin was also so so so helpful and kind! I swear these people seem to remember ever detail. McKayla was just absolutely kind and helpful and super quick to help us out. (TMI about the details but rest assured we were relocated in minutes). The hotel itself was beautiful and smartly designed. I think the only thing that is missing is a small shop where you can pick up essentials like Tylenol, allergy meds, bandaids, sunscreen and drinks. That would have really taken it over the top because we did find ourselves having to walk CVS a few times because of little things we forgot. Otherwise 10/10 would visit again!

I’ve been a die-hard Marriott loyalist for as long as I can remember. But after a weekend at the Thompson Savannah, I think it’s time to officially say: it’s not me, Marriott, it’s you. This stay didn't just meet my expectations; it completely redefined what I expect from a luxury hotel. The "Wow" Factor Starts at the Door We arrived on Friday, May 8th, for a Mother’s Day girls' trip and were immediately met with an energy that felt genuinely welcoming. The front desk team didn't just check us in; they set the stage. The biggest shocker? The House Car. The news that we had access to a dedicated vehicle for any destination within a three-mile radius blew our minds. We had actually rented a car for the weekend because we'd never even heard of such a high-end perk! Justin was the driver most of the time we were there and he was absolutely fantastic! The hospitality didn't stop at the driveway. We were offered a sample of the house beer, which was fantastic, and when I asked if it was local, the concierge, Amanda, stepped in like a true pro. She gave us the history of the brew and then spent time with us over maps, circling "must-try" restaurants specifically tailored to our palates. It felt like having a local best friend. The accommodations were nothing short of stunning. Often, "modern" hotels sacrifice comfort for aesthetics, but not here: the Beds? Ridiculously comfortable. The Bathroom? Generously sized, featuring an actual soaking tub (a rare and delightful find!). Even though we weren't on a high floor, the vista was still impressive and added to the Savannah charm. We spent an evening at Bar Julian, the hotel’s rooftop crown jewel. Despite the evening bustle, the service remained friendly and attentive. Sipping drinks with that panoramic view of the city was the perfect way to soak in the atmosphere. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Staying at the Thompson Savannah felt like a personally curated vacation rather than a standard hotel booking. Bye-bye, Marriott! The Hyatt luxury line has officially stolen my heart. If this is the standard they set, I’ll be seeking them out wherever my travels take me next.
