Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows is situated on nearly 23 acres of sweeping desert landscape at the base of Camelback Mountain. Mid-century modern interiors draw inspiration from the innovative 1950's desert art scene with an eclectic mix of bright colors, folk art and cultural patterns. The Guest House, a central gathering place that invites visitors to inhabit, explore and create, resembles an artist’s studio in design and offers board games and coloring books, a stocked library and live rotating art collection. The Turquoise Pool features private cabanas and a bar offering up seasonal treats like spiked popsicles and punchbowls.

Had the amazing opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort for a work event, and it was spectacular all around. The rooms are very spacious and immaculate--everything is just so well done and high quality, from the queen-size bed to the practical home-office desk, which came in handy during my stay. The true star of my stay, though, was, the pool, which was so relaxing with the beautiful palm tree-lined backdrop and the sun shining down warming the pool. I'm definitely recommending this place when I have guests coming into town.

I traveled to the Andaz Scottsdale in early June for work. It was a beautifully kept, medium sized property, fairly simple, but clean and full of desert charm. THE PROPERTY The hotel is basically made of up a bunch of bungalow style rooms which are spread out across the property. The gym, restaurant, spa and pools are sort of nestled conveniently throughout. The landscaping is picturesque, well manicured and gives upscale desert vibes. I feel like I saw the gardening staff raking the rocks each morning haha. The guests at the hotel seemed to be primarily young couples and a few families on summer vacation. I spotted a couple other business travelers as well, working from the clubhouse / restaurant on their laptops. LOCATION The Andaz is located in a good part of Scottsdale, about 5 min from Fashion Square Mall and very close to Old Town as well. It's tucked behind a bunch of stores and restaurants, so it feels very private and secure and it's also nice and quiet. ROOMS I stayed in a larger suite which had it's own private patio with two lounge chairs just off the bathroom, which, itself was very sizable and had an enormous two headed steam shower. The bedroom was simple and spare with a little sofa and coffee table next to the bed, a small dressing area between the bedroom and the bathroom with an open closet complete with rack and shelves. FOOD I ate at the main restaurant each morning for breakfast. It's bustling and colorful with decent food options. I did not have dinner there but heard from another guest that it was "pretty good." The hotel is walking distance to a few casual mid range restaurants. I tried out Blanco Cocina + Cantina which had pretty good Mexican fare (think taco and enchilada combo plates with rice and beans). I'd recommend that place. I also tried out Paul Martini's American Grill, which is exactly what you think it is... upscale casual steaks, burgers, salads. I had a French Dip sandwich with seasoned fries. It def hit the spot. POOL The pool is decent sized and because it's summer, was fairly crowded throughout my stay with the weekends being the busiest. If you go on a Sat or Sun, I'd def say it's better to get there earlier than later if you want a good spot. It's clean, with misters and music and pool service. I did not have a chance to check out the gym or the spa but saw a lot of pics before booking and they looked clean and decent. CONCLUSION I had a great stay at the Andaz Scottsdale. Rooms and property were clean, quiet, well kept, peaceful. Staff was friendly and helpful whenever I needed anything. Location was great and the value was great too. I booked with Amex Platinum so I was upgraded to the suite with private patio (high recommend), and the price was great too.

Unfortunately, the experience began on a very negative note with an arrival process that can only be described as a nightmare. The situation became significant enough that Charlie, the Director of Operations, personally became involved. I want to acknowledge Charlie's efforts, as he genuinely attempted to remedy the issues and provided a thoughtful room upgrade as a gesture of goodwill. His professionalism and concern were appreciated. However, despite Charlie's efforts, the remainder of my stay continued to fall well below expectations. The Food & Beverage experience was consistently disappointing due to poor service and a lack of attention to detail. Several items were particularly underwhelming given their premium pricing. For example, I purchased a $20 cake that was neither enjoyable nor presented in a manner that reflected a luxury resort experience. The presentation was honestly quite poor and did not justify the cost. Similarly, I ordered a $16 lavender latte, which was another disappointment. Not only was the beverage itself unimpressive, but there was also no effort made to enhance its presentation. At that price point, I would have expected something as simple as a lavender garnish or some indication of care and craftsmanship. What concerns me most is that while Charlie clearly understood the issues and made a sincere effort to address them, it appeared that he was trying to manage problems that were much larger than one person could resolve alone. He seemed to be working without the support necessary to consistently deliver the level of service guests expect from a property such as Andaz Scottsdale. I chose your resort expecting a luxury experience that would match the reputation of both the Andaz brand and Hyatt. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. While I appreciate Charlie's personal efforts, a room upgrade alone could not compensate for the repeated service failures throughout the stay. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and review both the arrival experience and the Food & Beverage operations so that future guests do not encounter similar issues. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing your thoughts regarding this matter.

Beautiful property. Why go to a resort in Mexcico when you can stay in the US and enjoy an equally beautiful location. Shopping and amazing restaurants abound in the area and are an easy 5-10min Waymo ride away. Your choice of an 'all ages' pool which had a live DJ and provided more of a 'party scene' or the Adult's only pool that plays lo-fi relaxing music on surround sound speakers and the sound of water fountains hitting the pool (it was excellent). Highly recommend for a 2-3 night couples getaway.
