5 Star Prices with 1 Star Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The Four Seasons Scottsdale is as beautiful as a typical Four Seasons. The rooms are nice, and the restaurants Proof and Onyx are good. Unfortunately the service is well below par - and at the end of the day, what I am really paying for is service. The concierge is maddeningly incompetent - whether by phone or on email. I would genuinely love for any GM or leader of the Four Seasons to read my email trail with your concierge. Once we were there, we attempted to organize massage bookings at the Spa. We received equally atrocious service and gave up even trying to book. We texted and called several times, each time they said they’ll be back to us in a minute. And they never came back to us. Is it really that busy? I have never seen the concierge dealing with anyone when I walk by. The overall impression, however, are the concierges are extremely busy - and any request (to give the hotel more money, ultimately) is an infringement on their time - which quite plainly is perceived to be far more valuable than mine. At any rate, we paid roughly $4K per night for 2 rooms. Four Seasons Scottsdale got my money, but they will never get my recommendation. Please fix your service.

Beautiful Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful property surrounded by the scenic Arizona desert. The rooms are lovely, bright, spacious, and smell wonderful. The pools are very nice, and I really enjoyed my time here. The only drawback is the location is a little remote, but I think that's deliberate and keeps you feeling like you're separate from the hustle and bustle.

Lots to love but disappointing room standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A lot to love about this Four Seasons - beautiful location, great standard of service from everyone and the food was very good in both restaurants. Our 3 star rating was down to the standard of the room. Very high end price at c$2,000/night (including taxes) for quite an old fashioned room but the main issue was an unpleasant blocked sink that was a problem each day. Multiple helpful people tried to fix it - which unfortunately took hours, creating noise (not their fault!) and a lack of privacy. They finally offered to move us to the next door room late afternoon of our last full day. Unfortunately by that time we were already heading out for the evening so did not have time or particularly want to pack and unpack again on what was our last night. We received a refund of $200 which I found disappointing and surprising for the level of disruption and price of the room.

A Hospitable Desert Oasis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We celebrated my birthday at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, a true desert oasis that feels completely removed from the outside world. The resort is spread across villas, pools, restaurants, and desert landscaping, creating its own little community. Check in was a great start, stepping out of 105 degree heat into an air conditioned lobby and being handed a cold towel was perfection. The team was warm, attentive, and acknowledged my birthday. Also being driven to our villa by golf cart added a fun touch. The villa was incredibly spacious with a huge bathroom, double sinks, and separate shower and tub. The outdoor sitting area was perfect at night, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. A birthday amenity of fruit, water, and chocolate cake was a thoughtful welcome. Dining was excellent: Proof was ideal for breakfast and lunch, and Talavera delivered a standout steakhouse experience (I recommend the Dry-Aged Kansas City steak). We also enjoyed relaxing massages at the spa; while the locker room felt a bit dated, the service itself was great. For my birthday, we booked The Grape Run, a private tour to Sedona with sightseeing and winery stops. A unique and memorable experience that I recommend. Even in the intense August heat, this was an easy 5 out of 5 stay thanks to the comfort, hospitality, and sense of escape the resort offers.
