Reviews for Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort

5 star hospitality from arrival to departure

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort this past weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property and, most importantly, the incredible staff. From before we even arrived until the moment we left, the level of service was truly exceptional. Our experience started with Jo’Lynn. I texted the night before our arrival asking about having some special treats placed in our room for my wife’s birthday. She immediately sent me a menu of options to choose from and went above and beyond by offering us a complimentary room upgrade. It was such a thoughtful way to start our birthday celebration before we even arrived. Unfortunately, weather and flight delays leaving Atlanta caused us to arrive extremely late on Friday—after 8:00 PM following a very long travel day. Kayauna checked us in, and she was absolutely amazing! She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. She recognized how exhausted we were and made the check-in process quick and seamless so we could get to our room and relax. Throughout our stay, whenever she saw us, she greeted us and genuinely checked to make sure everything was going well. That type of personal service makes such a difference. The next day, Gina, the Front Office Manager, reached out after Kayauna had shared what happened with our travel delays. Gina surprised us by arranging a complimentary cabana for my wife’s birthday! The cabana experience was beautiful and included a bottle of Prosecco, chips, salsa and guacamole, a fresh fruit tray, waters, pool towels, and other thoughtful touches. It completely elevated our birthday celebration and made my wife feel incredibly special. Gina also had the chocolate-covered strawberries I had ordered replaced because they had originally been delivered to our room before our delayed arrival. I was so appreciative of her attention to detail and willingness to make sure we still had the experience I had planned. We did experience a slight maintenance hiccup in our room, but even that demonstrated the level of service at this property. Maintenance responded immediately and took excellent care of us. Unfortunately, I did not get the gentleman’s name, but he deserves recognition as well. Chris H., the Front Desk Supervisor, was also amazing. He communicated with us, apologized for the inconvenience, followed up regarding the issue, and spoke with us about the level of service and standards Hyatt strives to provide. His professionalism and genuine concern were greatly appreciated. The excellence extended throughout the entire resort. Housekeeping kept our room spotless and even changed our sheets on the second night of our stay. The valet team was consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the resort grounds were absolutely beautiful, clean, and exceptionally well maintained. What stood out most was that the outstanding service wasn’t limited to one person or one department—it was consistent throughout the entire property. From Jo’Lynn helping us before arrival, to Kayauna welcoming and checking on us throughout our stay, to Gina making my wife’s birthday extra special, Chris H.’s professionalism, maintenance’s quick response, housekeeping, valet, and the pool staff, we felt genuinely cared for. This is what five-star hospitality should feel like. The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort has a beautiful property, but it is the people who truly make it special. Thank you to the entire team for turning what started as a stressful travel day into such a memorable birthday weekend for my wife. We will absolutely be back and would recommend this resort without hesitation. Five stars all around! ★★★★★

Just Ok…smelly noisy room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Visited here for a short 2 night stay and I must stay this hotel is not what I would have expected. We were assigned a corner room on the 2nd floor that upon entry the smell was nauseating. It was a mold sewar possibly gas smell. The AC was also super loud. After thinking the smell may go away and it did not I contacted the front desk and they were able to switch our room and thank God it was so much better. Another con was the pool beach area. For AZ I’m surprised to see so many chairs with no umbrellas. So many families were circling looking for a shaded area. The pros of this property would be the staff, the front desk agents were kind, the bellman and third party valet were nice but I most likely will not return.

Good Resort Stay

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale is a nice resort. I was there for a business meeting and the rooms and restaurants were fine. The staff was kind and helpful, nothing out of the ordinary. The gym was nice too. The surrounding views were beautiful and the airport is about a 20min ride. Overall, it was a good experience, but I think I expected to be more “wowed.”

This property goes above and beyond in hospitality and quality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

While our friends suggested we pay this property a visit, we really had no idea how special this resort and its staff truly are. Activities for kids (Camp Hyatt team and offerings are amazing) and adults are high quality and abundant. Rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and quite aesthetic. Resort grounds and amenities are immaculate and gorgeous. Treatment for Hyatt elites is superb. Restaurants and menu offerings are a foodie's paradise. If you come to this property and are not thoroughly impressed with the soft and hard product, you really need to reevaluate your standards. Kudos to Pia, JR, Katt and Dony for making this by far our best stay at any Grand Hyatt property (among dozens).

Great hotel but don’t go just for camp Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel is beautiful, clean and the staff are all wonderful, but don’t go solely for the camp Hyatt amenities which I found fell greatly short of the description on the hotel’s website. Kids can still have a great time at the hotel with the large pool area with sandbar and water slide so it’s still a great option for kids but the camp Hyatt is definitely not the equivalent of a kids club at other resorts.
