Family-Friendly Resort with Amazing Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We had a truly enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and we'd like to give a special thanks to Ms. Pia at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, gave us a thoughtful welcome goody bag, and even allowed us to check in two hours early since we had driven in early from California. That was a great start to our vacation. I had booked a standard suite, and we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Premium Hospitality Suite. The room was very spacious, with a separate living room and dining area, which made traveling with kids much more comfortable and convenient. The pool area was beautiful and very inviting. Even though the weather was extremely hot during our stay, the kids had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the pools. Breakfast at Mesa Centrale was complimentary as part of our Globalist benefits, which we really appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We'd also like to thank Mary from the restaurant, who was incredibly helpful with my takeout order. She was friendly, attentive, and even recommended a few dishes for us to try. One area for improvement was the resort's phone system. The phone lines were down for the entire two days of our stay, making it difficult to reach the front desk or request assistance when needed. While we understand that technical issues can happen, it's disappointing that the problem lasted from the time we checked in until we checked out. At a resort of this caliber, reliable communication is important, especially for guests who may need assistance during their stay. Fortunately, this was the only negative experience we had, and it didn't take away from what was otherwise a very relaxing and enjoyable visit. Overall, we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The excellent service, spacious accommodations, and family-friendly amenities made our trip even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this resort and would happily stay here again.

It’s not what I expected for the price!!

Grand Hyatt, Scottsdale, Arizona My daughter was turning 18 and we normally go to the lake for our birthday. We have a boat and we tie up about on the at Pleasant or Canyon. She wanted to try something Luxurious for her 18th birthday, so I got us a nice suite with a nice view so we could see the fireworks that were displayed, whichwas very nice. The room was very clean. It was very peaceful was very quiet. The view was spectacular the cleanliness of the room was very well maintained. However, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and you could not lock the bathroom for any type of privacy or security. Secondly, the AC did not work properly. I slept on top of the sheets due to the fact, first time I tried to pull the sheets out it took me 10 minutes, just to get them untucked due to how tight they are tucked-into the mattress, which makes no sense to me. I was sweating all night long with the Ac said that 70°. My daughter was very uncomfortable. She never got under the blanket and was constantly telling me that it was Hot waking up all throughout the night. The buffet the breakfast buffet that’s with a Mesa was $32 and the food was horrible. The sausages were disgusting. The eggs were runny their powdered eggs. It’s the same meal that you would get complementary at any other downgraded hotel some of the staff there do not believe in hygiene and do not smell very good and some of them do not speak very good English there is a miscommunication between me and the waiter that I ordered an omelette that never came out of my mouth. I asked for orange juice and coffee and waters, and he came back with an omelette and I asked for creamer with sugar. The pool was OK. The cleanliness of the pool was OK obviously it was hot. The pool was beautiful not very deep at all. In any places the bathrooms were clean. They were nice. They were air-conditioned beautiful place but I will never go again.
