This is a wonderful resort. We have stayed here several times over the years. The rooms are large all of which have small patios. The food at the resort is terrific: great breakfast buffet, Hoppin' Jack pool and restaurant is fine for lunch and Rita's offers a good dinner menu. Property is well maintained and lovely. Our only "complaint" does not concern the regular issues guests might have but concerns the treatment of the pool staff. These "kids" are wonderful: great service, helpful, efficient. But, they do suffer by wearing ridiculous BLACK and/or Dark Blue uniforms!!! In the heat of the summer, this is absurd!! Several of the kids, clearly sensitive to the sun, wore long sleeve t-shirts under the uniform shirt. And, all wore black sneakers. All in all unacceptable uniforms for this climate. GET THESE KIDS WHITE UNIFORMS! COTTON, LINEN, RASH GUARD/SUN RESISTANT, CLOTHING. And provide the staff at the expense of Marriott with white sneakers. And, don't charge the kids for new uniforms. Marriott can afford this. Change the uniforms and give these hardworking kids a break!! Hopefully, someone will see this review.

Stayed in July-August, low season. As a Titanium, paid for the highest level of guest room before a suite, the sundeck casita room. Attempted to use Suite Night rewards, denied. No upgrade at check in. Room was old and dusty. Late check out on Tuesday in early August? Nope, "sold out, fully booked", although the parking lots, pool, etc., conveyed a different story, empty. Very disappointing b/c there are so many amazing resorts in Scottsdale we could have picked for less money but chose a Marriott property. Stays like this have me questioning the value of loyalty to Marriott. I think I'm done. We won't be back.

The grounds of this resort are amazing. Kudos to the grounds crew. Beware the accommodations are very spread out in low rise buildings. Take advantage of the free shuttle. The onsite Mexican restaurant is delicious. The rooms are dated. My sheets and comforter were noticeably torn. With grounds so beautiful, the windows need regular professional cleaning. They looked like they were cleaned with a dirty rag. Many people at our conference remarked how good the food was. If you have not been to a desert property you will have a good experience here.

Pros - beautiful location - stylish casita - friendly service - strong AC Cons - back at our room at 4pm and still not cleaned - keys were not set up for two day stay so locked out in 112 degrees - smoker in next room - bed lumpy and hard, duvet lumpy - $270 facial became $350 the next day..they said because booked one day closer to service

Beautiful resort with outstanding staff, spa, rooms (loved our casita!) and amenities that include a gorgeous mountain you can hike without leaving the property! I had the detox massage and loved it. Rita's for dinner was great, also enjoyed the spa cafe and Starbucks in the mornings. Everyone who worked there was exceptionally polite. It felt secluded (in a good way) but was a quick drive to old town Scottsdale.
